"TRIPLE THREAT AT THE AYSLUM" PPV.
Posted by Boxing World Online on August 4, 2013, 8:32 pm
The Man In The Hat sits, as usual, at the center of the dais. To his left are Gemma Arterton, Serinda Swan, Pink, Britney Spears, Leelee Sobieski, and Jewel. To his right sit Kristen Stewart, Kat Graham, Neve Campbell, Mariska Hargitay, Avril Lavigne, and Jane Levy.
Man In The Hat: "All right, before we get to questions, there are some folks I want to thank. First, to Foxfire Atlantic for agreein' to participate here at Asylum. We've wanted to bring some members of that talented roster in for some time and are very pleased to have been able to do so. We think you'll be seeing more of Foxfire Atlantic here in Philly. I also want to thank our good friends at IFFI for makin' another appearance. They've become regulars here at Asylum and I hope that continues, and, of course, my good friend Poindexter Del Crunchy, for agreeing to participate tonight. Also to Av and Jane for puttin' together a great card, to the indie fighters who agreed to join us, especially Vanessa Minnillo for comin' in on such short notice, and, of course to HBO and the broadcast crew for a great show. And last but not least, to the FCBA commission, without whose sanction these cards would not be possible. Now, I'll take questions. Cable Boy. Go!"
HBO Reporter: "Swan and Pike. That was a great fight..."
Man In The Hat(smiling): "Glad you noticed!"
(Laughter)
HBO Reporter: "It's obviously big for Rosamund, considering her limited FCBA experience, but Swan really showcased some stuff tonight. Are you planning to try to springboard off this?"
Man In The Hat(smiling): "What do YOU think?"
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat: "We have plans for a big fight for Serinda this fall. If she wins that and, of course, the lightweight belts are no longer held hostage, then. Well. We shall see. Cable Boy II. Talk to me!"
Showtime Reporter: "Speaking of good fights, Wagner/Arterton was pretty good, too. Disappointing result for Gemma, though..."
Man In The Hat: "Well, you're always disappointed when you lose, but Gems fought very well, as she always does. I've said this before and I'll say it again. Gems is as good as I've got. She's a big, powerful light who's very athletic, very smart, and very skilled. She has as much ability as anyone in this division."
Showtime Reporter: "Rematch?"
Gemma(smiling): "Yes, please!"
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat: "How about you let ME do the matchmakin', Cable Boy II? Well, look out there! It's BLONDE! Magazine! Go!"
BLONDE! Reporter: "Big win for Leelee tonight. Isn't it time to push her at the top welters?"
Man In The Hat: "Well, we've DONE that. The kid's fought Nolin and Loken, hasn't she? And Diaz, too. And, last I looked, she's ranked among the best. We're not at Righetti-Regan-Freeman level, but we're up there in the Top Ten. We like Leelee a lot, and we plan to continue givin' her chances to Elevate for us. We think she will. Tess, dear, go ahead..."
Tess: "Pink certainly looked very good tonight, but I need to ask if she carried Minnillo..."
Pink: "I'll take it, Wiz. No, I didn't. I made attempts to take her out of there, and she was able to hang in. Give her credit. She didn't quit and she didn't punk. She didn't WIN, either..."
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat: "Smackeroo! Take us to dinner!"
Reporter: "Kristen and Kat both looked very good tonight. Do you have another controversy over who your top fly is?"
Man In The Hat(smiling): "Well, now, Kristen was excellent tonight. A little tentative early comin' off her first loss in ages, but she shook that and got the job done. Watch that video and you'll see why I like her so much. She has power. She's very athletic and quick, very smart, and extremely skilled. She has all the tools. And I'm glad she's plyin' 'em at Front Street. As for Kat, well. You saw what sets her apart. The athleticism. The preternatural quickness. The dancer's feet and conditioning. Kat's got a tool box like no one else in the flyweight division. She's goin' places. As for any controversies, let me say this again. We HAVE no Alpha's here. Pecking order and all that is determined by what you do in the ring. It's fluid. We have three flys here, including Amanda Seyfried. I like 'em all. We'll let them sort themselves out. Now. Dinner. Tess, Smackey, Limo! Oh, and Cartago delenda est!" |
