Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue) versus Rachel Nichols (Continuum)
(Results by Sim; Words by Lookout!)

Before (non-title(s) ): Two of the toughest lightweights in the division are eager to compete with Nichols being a recent lightweight champion and Missy being recently crowned the lightweight champ, though this will not be a title match. Neither the lightweight title nor Rachel's recently attained Ice Queen Hotel title will be up this time around. Nichols is eager to right the ship as Rachel declares, “I don't care about the belts, but beating the champ is exactly what I need to get back on track. I am going to pound out Peregrym. With Laura and Mary losing to that Lively chick, this is my chance to ascend to the top at lightweight! Girls better be watching tonight!” Peregrym is not quite as convinced, stating: “Maria Menonous just destroyed Laura and guess who blew the doors off of her? I know Rachel is good and I was rooting for her last year but I am going to be too much for her tonight! I'm the champ now, so I plan on making sure she and the rest of the division understands that here!” Surprisingly, this is their first match-up, though judging by their comments, doesn't seem like it will be the last.

Missy in a tight purple sports bra, with matching bikini bottoms and gloves – hair in a tight fighting ponytail; Rachel in a hunter green bikini with matching gloves – hair also in a fighting ponytail.

R1: Missy meets Rach midring as they are immediately determined from the opening bell, with Peregrym pumping in leather hard. Nichols is forced to backpedal almost immediately as Missy plants her feet, rotating those hips as those brawny forearms batter at her redheaded rival's torso and ribcage. Nichols doubling over, grunting as she struggles under the initial pressure, with Missy continuing to dip in and dig into Rachel's abs. Nichols seems paralyzed as she is pushed back towards the ropes, sitting butt-in-ropes as she absorbs the hard right and lefts that keep whacking away at her body. Getting on top as Missy keeps clouting her across her belly, then drifting in some short right hooks that catch her across her cheek, making Rachel take weight as she keeps bashing at her body and clobbering her aggressively to force her opponent to slump back into the ropes. It's all Missy so far through two as Rachel is alternately confused and composed, struggling to counter off of the ropes, but finding no openings as she keeps getting hit by hard hooks to her body to keep bullying her backwards. Rachel blinking back tears as she finds her ribcage and torso getting whacked by strong left and hands, covering up earmuff as Peregrym switches her focus up top to keep battering at a shocked Nichols. In the final minute, Rachel is definitely dazed and butt-in-ropes but manages to slip a right uppercut through Missy's defenses to catch her underneath her chin that halt's Peregrym's offense as her head whips backwards. Legs locking up as she blinks, caught off guard by the hard shot from Nichols and doesn't get a chance to reset her gloves before a crashing left hook drills into her cheek to follow up and a gorgeous overhand right smashes into her temple! The combination of sudden, devastating blows send her swiveling to the side and PEREGRYM IS DOWN! Missy is perpendicular to the ropes, struggling to get back up, but can't make it back to her feet before the bell as she is dropped and stopped! It may be a fluke finish, but Nichols will take the win regardless as it's KO1 RACHEL NICHOLS! Wow – just wow.

After: It's just not Missy who is shocked, but the crowd too as it seems like Missy had the match completely under control under that sudden burst of offense from Rachel ended her night in stunning fashion! Rachel beaming as she is aware of the nature of her win, but doesn't appear to dampen her enthusiasm at all as she holds up two fingers like a piece sign, “Two KO1's against both lightweights from Lookout! I know Mary may think she's got their number and Laura may be supergirl, but clearly, I'm Kryptonite for them! They know it!” Missy comes in hot as she's recovered quickly, immediately getting right into Rachel's face to protest the quick stoppage as the two are forced to be pulled apart. Nichols is shouting for a rematch to prove it wasn't a fluke and Peregrym determined to finish what she started in this match. Did Missy get caught looking ahead to her first title defense and overlook Rachel? Was it a lucky shot or Rachel truly that dangerous for the lightweights of Lookout? Will this affect Missy in her preparation for her next match and what will Rachel do next to follow up on this big win? These questions and more are asked in the days following the match, but what a shocking result and upset for the always fluid and fierce lightweight division!
