BBU: GRUDGE GALORE FROM BRIGHTON"

(Lioness Club vs Girls Friday)

The Brighton event gets underway in the flyweight division as the highly-touted Rhiannon Fish still awaits her turn to fight Michelle Keegan and has set up a clash with Sammy Winward, a promising blonde actress of Emmerdale fame who despite losing twice last year remains one of the hottest prospects around BBU. However that's not the feeling within the Lioness Club camp and Fish admits she's picked Winward just to shatter her dreams of becoming a player among the UK flyweights.

Sammy is perhaps best known for her repeated catfights with Roxanne Pallett on the set of Emmerdale but she's moved on from that and targets more demanding rivals in her BBU career. Still Rhiannon thinks otherwise: "I saw those mudfights she had with Roxy. Well, after I'm done with her tonight, I'll leave Pallett something to scribble on and let me tell you, Sammy will be begging Roxy to fight her!"

Rhiannon Fish wearing her trademark yellow, black & white schemed bikini from the set of Home & Away; red gloves. Dark brown hair in loose waves. Sammy Winward wearing a white bikini top, black knickers and red gloves. Long blonde hair straight. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Intimidating approach from the brunette who swings around the blonde's head early but Sammy is anything but frightened and whacks Fish on the tummy, shows some quick footowork and squares up to her, jabs to the body and leans on her; follows up with some rack assault and pushes Rhiannon back. More jabbing on the midriff; Fish ducking and weaving on her feet but getting clipped from mid-range and unable to stretch her arms. Winward targets the body and rarely aims at the head but shows enough speed and workrate to prevent significant response from the brunette who seemingly didn't expect the blonde to disobey her status. She cuts the air in fruitless effort and is left fuming at the bell when another Winward jabbing combo catches her on the navel and sags down on the knees.

Round 2:
Sammy's happy to fight in mid-range and has the speed advantage over the Aussie who jumps around her but can only graze the flesh and skim off the gloves; she's forced to duck underneath some high swings as Winward switches upstairs and keeps the workrate going. Couple of missed hooks allow Fish to finally nail the blonde on the ribcage but Sammy bangs a left cross on the temple and follows up with a chest attack; has Rhiannon seeking clinch but more uppercuts punish her rack and cause first moans to be heard around Brighton. Winward leans on her and drills the stomach, shoves the Aussie away and prevents the clinch, cracks a big uppercut on the jaw, once again beating the brunette for pace and Fish realizes she's not going anywhere so far and jumps back to the ropes, circles away to safety as Sammy keeps her focus and doesn't rush her chances yet. At the bell the brunette offers her a cheeky smile but the crowd knows Winward has nothing to be ashamed of.

Round 3:
Rhiannon still holds her nerve even when more precise jabs bother her midsection and she just can't catch the blonde on the counter, misses her shots on repeated basis and only bounces off the gloves. Sammy switches low again, peppers her ribcage and backs the Aussie away as Fish circles around and seeks solution to break her resilience. More high shots keep her ducking and weaving though with no time to think much about new tactics as Winward keeps walking her down and landing more single jabs around the elbows. Couple of uppercuts aimed at the jaw slice the air and Sammy pummels at the ribcage, connects with the chest in a forward bite, slams a cross hook against the mouth and snaps Rhiannon's head back; crowd ups the cheers, Winward bashes to the body and backs a cumbersome rival to the ropes where she cleans out her midsection before Fish can finally clinch her but she's lost another round and as the blonde struts back to her corner, first signs of anger are visible on the brunette's face.

Round 4:
Sammy in familiar mode, jabs from mid-range at the start but Fish leaps after her and swings around the head, skims off the temple but manages to strike on the chest and wobble the blonde back who failed to anticipate the brunette's sudden burst of speed and gets punished around the elbows as Rhiannon traps her in close range and pounds away at the stomach, clips the chin with a quick uppercut, has the English actress backing away but nails her on the mouth with a huge jab. Winward on the ropes; jumps to the side but a right hand from Fish catches her between the mitts and snaps the head back; half-turn on the run, another left on the mouth with the brunette finding solid success, pins Sammy against the turnbuckle and seeks more facial damage. Blonde's all covered up; gets hammered on the ribcage and begins to moan; Rhiannon with a spirited charge, targets the body in the final minute, avoids single striking response over the top, clips Winward's chin with another uppercut and signs off the round with more belly punching as Sammy's arms drop low at the bell and she gives the Aussie a really long and mean look this time.

Round 5:
Rhiannon with another quick charge straight from the bell and Sammy answers it with a similar approach; both girls tangle in the middle of the ring and start bashing leather but Fish nails the blonde on the mouth early and follows up on the rack; blonde wobbles to the side, gets outworked in close range and covers up as Rhiannon backs her to the ropes and the single striking from behind the guard proves worthless in wake of the brunette's will to punch her out. Fish strikes over the top, traps Sammy on the ropes but there's more effort than success as the Aussie lacks precision and scores meaningless leather on the forearms and mitts. Winward leans back on the ropes and is happy to send more shots from behind the guard, offers little threat to Rhiannon but avoids getting nailed; has the Aussie firing away at her midsection in the final minute but a quick overhand hook catches the brunette on the nose and halts her charge as Sammy clinches her and shoves against the ropes on the turn, buries couple of low jabs on the navel and runs the clock down with Fish moaning into her ear but unable to shrug the clinch off; ref turns a blind eye on the extended and unneccessary shoving and seems to be enjoying Winward's physical presence during the interval more which doesn't escape the attention of Denise van Outen in the BBU TV booth.

Round 6:
Winward more laid back of the two as we enter second half of the fight; nimble on her feet and jumping in avoidance of the brunette's visibly rushed and subsequently lacklustre approach. Fruitless jabbing from Rhiannon in the opening minute, more anger on her face thereafter but she can only graze the flesh as Sammy's footwork highlights the action. Some of the crowd don't support that and demand vicious leather exchange; Winward sticks to her plan and has the arena puzzled at the tactics. Rhiannon slows down, reaches out with single strikes but fails to connect and reverts into more circles as both girls settle into a waiting mode.

Round 7:
Previous round seemed to be a true calm before the storm as the Aussie jumps after her rival immediately after the bell and peppers her ribcage before sending uppercuts on the rack but Winward counters over the top and slams a right hook on the brow ridge; pummels between the arms and both girls suddenly bash each other senseless, sway the breasts back & forth before Fish tags the blonde on the chin again and snaps her head back; follows up on the mouth with a left/right combo; Sammy drops her arms as she stumbles to the side and eats another hook on the nose and sags on her knees; Fish leans on her and rips into her guts, gets the better of the vicious exchange and pounds away at the midriff, has the blonde moaning and covering up but as she spikes the liver area, Winward seeks clinch in despair. More from Rhiannon, jabbing assault around the elbows prevents the clinch and backs the blonde away; no speed advantage anymore and brunette strikes over the top again, nails Sammy on the eye and traps her on the ropes where she keeps drilling the guts before couple of uppercuts dump Winward into more misery and she's lost another straight-forward exchange; should stick to mid-range tactics according to BBU TV but she breaths heavily at the bell with the fatigue becoming a factor at this stage.

Round 8:
Fish visibly fresher of the two, closes the blonde down and starts another ribcage assault as Sammy does well to avoid leather in the opening minute but can't keep up with the pace for any longer and eats vicious jabs around the elbows, staggers in the middle of the ring and fires away from behind the guard. She connects with the brunette's rack but lacks core strenght and Rhiannon leans on her and keeps punishing the midriff, flicks occassional uppercuts, more of them in the final minute where she pushes the English actress towards the ropes and opens up from both wings, bashes to the body and removes air from the blonde's lungs who suddenly has the power supply switched off and just leans back on the ropes in avoiding mode but still gets clobbered on the ribs just before the bell and moans loudly afterwards much to the Aussie's delight.

Round 9:
Rhiannon pushes for a late knockdown at the very least with Sammy now struggling to stay away from striking distance, more shots on the ribs sink the blonde on her knees and Fish seeks the liver area damage, spikes around the elbows as Winward turns to the other side and gets nailed on the chin with another hook. Rhiannon works her foe over in the middle of the ring, starts to back her against the ropes with more jabbing on the stomach and Sammy loses her footing, drops the arms too much and falls on the ropes for good in wake of another head-snapping combo from the Aussie. Fish lays into her guts thereafter, leans on her and bashes on the ribcage as Winward wraps her arms around her waist but has no strenght to shove her away; ref again hangs back, despite van Outen's claim to give the blonde some respite. Rhiannon moans in exhaustion herself but with Sammy just sagging on her knees, she's scoring more easy leather on the midriff and leaves the blonde aching, holding her ribs at the bell and the late push seems to have turned the fight into the Aussie's favor.

Round 10:
Winward continues to struggle physically but the brunette's face is reddened likewise and the pace drops inside the final round; Lioness camp urges their girl to see out the fight and settle for the scorecards as Sammy single strikes in her efforts to secure a knockdown which might still prove to be the deciding factor. Fish keeps shaking her head as hair gets into her eyes; shows enough speed to avoid the blonde's spirited but weak charges; she drops her arms and openly teases Sammy with another cheeky smile, doesn't even throw a punch until the final minute as Sammy almost stumbles onto her knees when she gets the weight placement wrong. Final minute; Fish on the move, jabs to the body as Winward is dead on her legs and just soaks up punishment, gets pushed to the ropes with more ribcage jabbing, covers up and just moans in pain as Rhiannon bashes her mitts apart, catches on the jaw and spins against the turnbuckle. Crowd still wants to see a late knockout and Winward's all but done here as Rhiannon slams her on the rack, causes the arms to drop and cross-hooks on the nose.. Sammy wraps her arms around the top rope to avoid going down and the ref finally jumps in, checks up with the blonde who's got her eyes closed and has nothing left in the tank... no standing eight count and no stoppage as BBU TV indicates the ref finally decided to help the battered blonde from a premature ending; he shoves Rhiannon away but the brunette is too tired herself to even question his actions... both girls are done here but Sammy just crumbles onto her backside at the bell; leans her head on the canvas and allthough she survived the distance, it's the Aussie brunette raising her arms in victorious manner. Let's see if the judges agree with her...

After ten rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards... Judges score the bout 97-96, 97-96 and 99-93 all for your winner through unamous decision... RHIANNON FISH!!!

Post-fight:
Loud scream of joy from the Lioness camp as Rhiannon punches the air in delight allthough couple of judges saw this one really close while the third perhaps joined in late and missed the early Winward domiance. Nonetherless the brunette looks better of the two and has punished her rival more than vice versa and Sammy does look finished, probably not prepared to go the distance and suffer the most at the end of the fight. She just slumps onto her stool after the verdict is announced while Rhiannon teases her into challenging old nemesis Roxanne Pallett if she wants to taste success in BBU.

But the brunette's focus quickly switches to Michelle Keegan in a long-awaited fight that may be due later this summer. Fish finds support in Denise van Outen who' always up for couple of dark-haired vixens bashing each other to a pulp while the Aussie actress seems to be too excited over her prospects and the just witnessed Winward triumph to realize she's getting mocked by the veteran reporter. Their happy chat is halted by the announcer and van Outen returns to her booth; indicates to the viewers she'd support any brunette to beat up fellow dark-haired rival and in fact has her money on Keegan thanks to the former champ's vastly superior experience. "Rhiannon's a nice girl but she just squeezed past one of my fellow blondes tonight and I think Michelle should punch her out to teach her some manners. But I never bet on a brunette doing a blonde's job so let's wait and see who can follow up on Adele Silva and knock Rhiannon out!"

Final result: Rhiannon Fish def. Sammy Winward UD10
