It's now or never for Zoe Salmon according to most of the rumours around Cardiff Arena. The Ulster blonde presenter is on the cusp of losing her place at the Lioness Club roster especially in wake of her horrendous performance against Danni Wells earlier this month. Denise van Outen thinks Zoe is dead in the water anyway, even if she beats Rosie Whiteman tonight. And if she doesn't she should be fired from the Barnet based stable even before she leaves the ring!

On the other hand Whiteman has suffered with schedulling of PageThrees and only fought once in her BBU career. That was in January of last year though and van Outen wonders if the blonde glamour model can even throw a decent combo on the training sack. "I know nothing of Rosie's recent shape and Zoe's been battered by everyone on top of that. I guess we're right at the rock bottom of the lightweight division here but it's still rare to see someone axed from a stable based on sheer performance or lack thereof. The one and only time that happened was when Georgie Thompson couldn't last a single round against Mollie King and was fired by Fight Club UK on the spot. Will Salmon join her tonight?"

Round 1:
There are some questions marks over both girls' skills but Zoe realizes she's got her back against the wall and storms out of her stool to throw a jabbing combo on Rosie's head, crashes off the mitts though and eats low response as Whiteman pummels around the elbows and scores on the ribcage, bounces off the chest with a wayward hook and rips into Zoe's tummy thereafter. Both girls in mid-range, trade leather but Rosie leans her head against Zoe's chin and almost tries to headbutt her, keeps drilling the tummy and forces the Ulster blonde to reel back to the ropes. More wayward hooks follow as Whiteman tries to close within striking distance but Zoe weaves away to the centre of the ring, lets Rosie wear herself out in the second minute and mounts a comeback late; shatters the high guard and slams against the mouth, wobbles Whiteman on her knees before going after her rack, couple of uppercuts stun the PageThrees blonde and she's unable to cover up before a left hook nails her on the chin just before the bell and spins back to her corner. Salmon wants more of this but has to wait and barks in anger, a really rare sight among BBU fans.

Round 2:
Zoe jumps after the glamour girl and pummels to the chest as Rosie responds with overhand jabs and tags the presenter's chin, follows up with a left hook on the mouth and leaves her blinking frantically in shock. Another jabbing combo nails Salmon on the chin and she stumbles forward straight into the path of a vicious left hook that rips her skin on the cheek and SENDS TUMBLING DOWN ON THE CANVAS... Nobody saw this coming after the first round, least of all Zoe who jumps to her feet at five, perhaps too soon but she just stares at the fellow blonde in utter disdain and indicates she's ready to avenge this knockdown. Rosie was slightly surprised herself and fails to follow up as Zoe rips into her guts and smacks the cleavage; both girls trade leather in the middle of the ring with Salmon moaning in frustration but drilling her mitts against Whiteman's rack and reeling her back towards the ropes; overhand respone tags the Ulster blonde on the eye and she leans on the model in response, seeks a far from accidental headbutt but gets clobbered around the elbows as Rosie shrugs off the short freeze and dekes to the side, walks away from the ropes and has Zoe barking in anger again. Few audacious leaps from the Ulster blonde follow but she can't reach the PageThrees girl anymore; should be happy about the way the round panned out after the knockdown anyway.

Round 3:
Rosie realizes she's let Zoe off the hook after that surprising knockdown and rips into her tummy seconds into the third, goes around the elbows again and peppers the ribcage as Salmon refuses to charge with her assault and reverts into some nifty footwork, circles around the model's efforts before trapping her in a clinch as Rosie wore herself out in the opening minute and also seeked a respite. Zoe keeps lurking around her rival's jaw though and wrestles her to the ropes, shows superior strenght and jabs low on the ribs but Whiteman catches her on the ear as she was able to free her left arm. A lenghty stalemate follows and the ref is called into action; he shoves Zoe away and Rosie springs off the ropes, flies with a right hook but misses, eats a right hand on the chest herself and Salmon counters over the top, tags the fellow blonde's right eye and sends her spinning back to the ropes; squares up to her and drills the guts, catches Whiteman by surprise as a series to the head was expected; Zoe pounds away at the midriff though and sags Rosie on her knees, tries to uppercut the rack again but crashes off the forearms and settles into another clinch late on as she runs out of breath with Rosie looking equally tired.

Round 4:
It's obvious these two girls want to show some venom and skill but simply lack performance as another leather trade-off ensues in the middle of the ring. Head-snapping combos from both sides but not enough sheer strenght behind it and despite Zoe's infamous poor punch resistance, she's able to come on top of that exchange with a low drilling series on the navel that has Whiteman yelping in pain and gasping for air when Salmon follows up and connects with the chest. Zoe working single hand on cleavage down the stretch, pushes her foe against the ropes again and pours with more jabs around the elbows. Whiteman clinches, responds with couple of hooks on the liver area but Zoe wrestles her to the turnbuckles and leans on her, tags the chin with her head and shows more strenght as she keeps working around the midsection and traps the fellow blonde for good late on but Rosie just wraps her arms around her neck and round concludes in another meaningless stalemate.

Round 5:
No signs of Rosie repeating that knockdown as she's forced to dance around Zoe's mitts; a spirited but lacklustre charge from the Ulster girl in the first minute who then drops her aggression and settles into a methodical single punch trading in mid-range. Nothing to please the crowd thereafter as well and only in the final minute after a lenghty whistling & jeering reaction from the audience, Whiteman shows more intentions, closes Salmon down and whips a jabbing series on the ribcage but eats a left hook on the right eye and sags in the middle of the ring as the Ulster blonde in able to clean out her midriff and reel back to the ropes. Zoe with couple of heavy hooks on the ribcage right at the bell, swipes Rosie's mouth seconds too late but she couldn't back out from that and Whiteman stumbles to the side, wraps her left arm around the rope to avoid going down and she's not happy about that late punch but for all of Zoe's headbutting efforts earlier, that was truly accidental.

Round 6:
Zoe catches a second breath quicker than her foe and closes Rosie down seconds into the sixth, pummels between the arms and rocks Whiteman's jugs, keeps drilling her chest for best part of the opening minute, prevents her from escaping to safety and finally leaves her on soft knees at the minute mark as Rosie tries another clinch instead of firing back and pays the prize. She gasps for air and loses her footing, allows Salmon to hammer away at her midriff and Zoe just turns on the screw all of the sudden, pulverizes the model's ribcage and has her moaning but just standing there and taking abuse, left hook on the jaw slices the mitts and proves too much for Rosie who drops her arms and gets nailed with a right hand follow up on the temple... DOWN GOES WHITEMAN hard on her side as she crumbles under Zoe's dominance this round... Loud scream from the Irish blonde as she bunny hops around her fallen opponent but Rosie beats the count at seven and gets another chance. She shows little aggression though and unlike her own knockdown falls into a follow-up trap as Zoe rips into her chest and now slices the arms with ease, hammers away at the jugs and has Rosie moaning again. A repeated charge from the Ulster woman who keeps laying into her foe's guts and Whiteman is taking abuse at will, affected by that knockdown and offering nothing back. The body assault sets up a facial hooking combo with Rosie subsequently leaking blood from her cheeks as Zoe catches her from both hands, easily above the mitts and right against the blonde's otherwise pretty face. One-way traffic in the dying seconds with Salmon reducing her foe into a sobbing mess but Whiteman just refuses to go down again, perhaps a sign of Zoe's weak punching skills instead and the ref doesn't stop it either and lets the round conclude with more Ulster leather against the English flesh and quite frankly Rosie looks equally busted up as well as scared as she heads back to her stool.

Round 7:
Extended patch-up work's required on Rosie's face but she's a damaged species now and keeps soaking up punishment straight from the bell in the seventh; Zoe realizes she's got the model at her mercy and drills into her tummy, uppercuts the rack and makes her moan in pain before slamming a hooking combo on the jaw that once again causes the arm to drop; overhand left on the temple, right hand on the cheek and Rosie's legs go south... SHE TUMBLES TO HER SIDE and this time it's more serious as Whiteman sits up before ref starts the count but bursts into tears in the proccess and starts pounding her glove against the canvas in utter frustration. One has to think she's had enough of this and the ref jumps in to salvage the last ounce of the model's pride, drags Salmon away to safety to end this bout prematurely before Whiteman gets knocked out of her senses.. TKO7 Zoe Salmon!!!

AFTER: That wasn't the most entertaining fight in BBU history, couple of girls lacking confidence and skill tried to secure a rare victory and even though Zoe Salmon was facing the axe in case of defeat, she showed little nerves in the end and managed to knock Rosie Whiteman out despite early knockdown trouble. She postpones the Lioness Club exit, at least according to Barnet sources, but still hasn't impressed her critics enough to secure her long-time future.

As for Rosie, well, she needs more frequent opportunities in the ring if she's ever going to win one of these fights. Losing to Salmon looks bad enough on anyone's record but there's still a chance she can feel more comfortable with a decent run against fellow lightweight strugglers. On the other hand, another 19 months on the sidelines should mean the end of Whiteman's career before it even began.
