Cindy pounced out to a 3-0 lead in rounds, knocking Walsh down in the second, but the lead would evaporate when Walsh answered the knockdown and took rounds 4-6. Down the stretch, safety-first Cindy C played canny punch-n'-clutch to take the final heats, squeaking past a game Kate Walsh en-route to the second round.

Giving away size, strength, Cat played a cagey jab-and-grab game with Brook, causing both women to draw repeated warnings for scrubbing rough-house on the inside. After 8, Bell had muscled out a sloppy draw and in the single-round sudden-death overtime session, both women opened up wide in a free-swinging slugfest for supremacy. In the pitched give-and-take battle, both women would be rocked, but down the stretch, a crisp hook/right hand combination put Shields on her backside in shock, sending Catherine on through with a shout.

Working behind a stiff left jab and a piercing right cross, Long Elley-Mac would give Kim fits with heavy doses of face-punching - round after round of step-and-poke precision that had Cattrall busted up and discouraged through 7. So Kim uncorked a thunderous left hook to open the 8th, laying Elley on her back and ending the Aussie's night in spectacular fashion.

With her blunt, hatchet-chop delivery and muscular inside presence, Hargitay went right at Jeanne T and made her work. Fighting in counter-clockwise circles, Tripplehorne did well to negotiate the pressure - bouncing both hands off Mariska's head and hooking her hard amidships. All even through 4: in the fifth, Hargitay hooked Jeanne to the wall, bullied her, piled on, beat the body into submission, then landed thudding hooks and uppercuts to head, ending Jeanne's night in stupor.

Bell elected to be aggressive in this fight, leading to a much more crowd-pleasing event than Bell/Shields had been. Cindy - ever more comfortable fighting a measured boxing/punching pace - found Bell's gambling right hands and delayed hooks disruptive, and the punishing exchanges often saw Cindy C withdraw rather than sustain the action. In the fourth, pressure and will paid off for Cat as she punished Crawford against the ropes, putting the iconic brunette on her face after a relentless bombardment. With wins over Theron, Romijn, Shields and now Cindy Crawford in her last four, Catherine Bell took the opportunity in post-fight to guarantee tournament victory, even before her finals-opponent could be announced!

Mariska entered the favourite and did well in spots - punishing Kim's breasts with hacking short-arm hooks and being brawny on the inside. But Cattrall unveiled unguessed boxing ability coupled with heavy hands to gradually impose her terms on an increasingly shellshocked Hargitay. It was a shabby and sluggish Mariska who blundered face-first into a series of punishing one-twos in the 7th round - Kim pushing her demoralized opponent off after beating her to punches, then letting her wander back in. Midway through, it was over - Mariska's legs gave way, pitching her in sprawl onto her belly and Kimmy C advanced to the finals in upset fashion.
