Addressing the throngs of media members, The Benefactor is grinning from ear to ear.
“Tonight you saw exciting fights from girls who otherwise would not have had the chance. These girls are ferocious boxers and will improve as long as they stay under this boxing club. We would like to announce that we have offered fighting contracts to some of the girls that you saw in the ring tonight. We will be announcing the results of those negotiations when both parties are satisfied.
As for our long-term plans, they are two fold:
1) The Diamond Boxing Club will continue to be a place for girls who struggle to find marketable fights. We will be vigilant in our search for overlooked fighters and will provide opportunities to box. Boxers are under few contractual obligations to our gym, but we do retain the first option on their contract should girls catch on in the FCBA. We have no interest in becoming a bloated organization, and will actively negotiate with any stable or manager to ensure that each girl receives the appropriate attention for her boxing career.
2) The Diamond Boxing Club will be establishing our brand of fighting. Our boxing philosophy is simple. Fans want fights with beautiful girls who aren’t afraid to punch. Knockouts are more exciting than decisions. We are more interested in making a good name for our fighters instead of stealing decisions by running or holding. A small stable of boxers will be interested in this philosophy and we will take a more active role in managing their career. Again, we are currently in negotiation with those boxers and will announce those results soon.
Remember, we are not just trying to be managers and talent scouts; we are also long time fans of the FCBA. This league has established a tradition of female boxing of the highest level. The fantastic managers and stables of the FCBA have inspired us to attempt this challenging yet noble undertaking. We welcome your feedback and appreciate your support.
Thank you. |
