BEFORE: "All I do," Kaley contends in prefight, "is beat hell out of Foxfire women. Check the record. Laura and Mary, falling to my fists over and over again. In my opinion, Mary's the better of the two - sturdier, scrappier - but it won't make any difference. I've got my boot on Foxfire's throat, and when one of their girls enters the ring with me, I expect to leave the ring a winner. I'm closing in on the Hall of Fame guys: Mary's not in my league!"
Mary fuming at the Kaley-tude: it has to be answered. "Kaley's had success against us, but so what?" Mary asks in rebuttal. "Does that mean I should just lay down and take it in this fight? She doesn't know what's going to happen. Just because she beat Laura up tons of times doesn't mean she can handle me on my best day. I'm coming in there to hurt Kaley and finish her. If she thinks this is going to be some kind of prance in the park, she's dead wrong!"
Kaley in black bikini; frisky high pony with messy bangs; pink gloves and boxing booties. Mary in powder blue bikini with little white belt; white gloves; long brown hair straight with bangs; white boxing booties.
During R1: Kaley cute and classy at the open - darting in to get off right/left, then sidestepping, wrapping and arm around Mary's back to spin her on the spot. Ref shouting "Don't spin her Kaley", but Cuoco does what she wants - being quick, being first, outclassing Mary through 2 minutes. Winstead keeps her composure - hands up, elbows in...she's covering up well, not taking much damage despite Kaley's sophisticated moves. Down the stretch, set-piece trading sees both women get off rights and lefts - Mary hooks Kaley's chin with authority and BLONDE GIRL HURT! Kaley staring all how-could-you eyes...she backpedals to ropes, forms panicky earmuff, suffers as Mary steps-to and applies thump to waistline. Winstead on Kaley to the bell - brunette stealing the round with a thudding bombardment of Cuoco's tummy and hips...MEW so ferocious about her pounding that ref has top pull her off after bell.
R2: OH THE HUMANITY! Kaley hard-eyed, looking for payback, but she runs into a whirlwind of Winstead punches - brunette quickly breaking down blonde defences, rocking Kaley to head and driving her ropeside! Mary hopping-to and loving it - belting away to glory on Kaley's head and shoulders...blonde girl wilting, trying to keep her head protected as Mary goes for the win! Kaley rides it out via bob-and-roll in the pocket, starts dishing it back a minute in...Mary catching sneaky-hard right hands, well-timed hooks off the ropes as Kaley finds spots. Winstead rocked in exchanges, forced to back off...Kaley with a little breathing room at her back digs in and escalates. TORRID back and forth - girls just heaving in the leather, dipping and twisting into haymakers, bobbing up and down on the spot and MARY GOES DOWN! Gorgeous, digging hook to liver bites deep into Mary - Kaley rolling up out of her crouch, arching her back to sink the shot in...Winstead sobbing aloud, going to knees and elbows with top of her head pressing against canvas, both feet drumming the mat with agonized little kicks...she's SO hurt. Kaley flushed, trembling, but excited - she puffs a lock of hair out of her eyes, struts to neutral corner to await the KO but MARY BEATS THE COUNT! Mary with tear-stained cheeks refuses to go out on her knees: she forms earmuff, braces against ropes and awaits Kaley's finishing run. GOOD LORD THE BEATDOWN! Kaley stepping-to hurtin' brunette, squaring up, FEEDING Mary a sticking hook below right elbow, searching for the off-switch. Extra hook beats right-side ribs, then Kaley tests Mary's raised guard via stubby inside right. Up and down, Kaley on Mary...Winstead trusting her curvy legs/stubborn body to sponge this stuff up as she maintains a rigid earmuff. Kaley huffs, puffs, but can't blow Mary's house down - at the bell, Kaley's mouthbreathing, hands on hips on the walk back to her corner...Mary trembling from a terrible ass-kicking, but rallying herself on her stool.
R3: Kaley's all punched-out, mouthbreathing...she circles to her right, left at the waist, right at her cheek. Mary grimacing, but willing herself forward - she's walking her blonde down behind a raised guard, blocking Kaley's tepid up-jabs, stepping in a stiffer left poke to chops - forcing Kaley to ropes. Mary stepping in with wide right hands to Kaley's left hip; hooking Kaley's tummy; trying the right uppercut...Kaley blocks-and-rolls, then slides out of there, continuing her leggy retreat. Good hounding pursuit from Mary, but Kaley buying time with her legs, never hanging in for too much of a pounding - clinching or spinning in spots to get ref's breaks. Shutout Winstead, but Kaley feeling revived on her stool during break.
R4: Girls in bouncy stances outside, eyeing each other, then darting in, getting off strong, strapping one another in belting rights and lefts, then bopping back out to regroup. Counter-clockwise rotation midring...fighters in and out with each other, smiting offending body with full commitment, trying to clean-up to head before withdrawing. Mary landing the heavier touches through 2 minutes, generally getting the better of the trading, but down the stretch, clever Kaley feints, shows Mary the swinging right to the body, but jumps in with a sneaky left uppercut lead instead! Clean chip to chin rocks Mary's world...Winstead reeling back on her heels eyes wide, hitting ropes in disarray. Mary sitting on cables, stooping forward behind her mitts...once again she's forced to tuff it out as Kaley steps-to, hammers away to glory at bell. AND BEYOND! Kaley lost in Mary-hate, still bashing at Winstead's hips as brunette's cringing forward - ref has to pull Kaley off from behind - blonde girl wriggling and furious at the interruption.
R5: More of that loose, bouncing look outside, then girls dart in, bang away rights and lefts, bop back out to regroup. No question about it: Mary's gradually breaking Kaley down in these engagements. Winstead beating that wide right hand hard to Kaley's hip or ribs, then hooking at her from in close, then trading until blonde girl retreats. It's Mary coming forward, jabbing at Kaley's open-mouth on approach, then pouring forward with that lead right roundhouse to body...it's a winning approach. Kaley's face pinched, sullen, and midway through, she backs away, takes a knee before Mary can smack her again. Winstead glaring down on the strut past: Kaley wincing, exhaling through pursed lips, gathering herself. Upon resumption, Kaley in full, but organized retreat, using her springy legs to circle the ring/bounce off ropes, nibbling little check-jabs or sneaky right hand leads to keep Mary wary on approach.
R6: BOOM! Kaley wearily up off her stool and Mary's in her face, pancaking her to corner. Mary on Kaley brutality - Winstead palm-pushing Kaley's face up and back, then ransacking blonde body hup-hup-hup...poor Cuoco caught in a Winstead-nado with no way out! Kaley whining, catching sock...initially she tries to reach under Mary's arms and walk her back, but Winstead's too furious: Mary writhing free of the clutches, beating tummy like a woman possessed, then roaming up-torso to batter all things Kaley. Cuoco covering up earmuff in her corner, buffetted off the adjacent ropes...Mary's just swarming her - teeth bared, hair wild in brown eyes, fists whirling. Crowd roaring at the barbarous slugging - Mary pushing Kaley to sort, then bashing her right hand after right hand up top, hammering the head and shoulders as blonde girl starts to loosen up under bombardment. KALEY FALTERS! Cuoco sagging against ropes with her right shoulder, guard going limp, eyes dimming...Mary seething, left hand pushing at Kaley's chest to stabilize her, right hand bashing and bashing down and THE REF STEPS IN! TKO6 Mary Elizabeth Winstead in savage fashion!
AFter: Kaley in stupor against ropes, eyes staring, mitts at her mouth...Mary leans in and shrieks hot in Kaley's face until ref pulls Winstead off. "I'm stoked, obviously, but I'm still mad," a flushed and sweaty Mary explains in postfight. "She's a good fighter, but that's no excuse to disrespect other girls...she just got me super riled up with her attitude. I don't care how close to the hall of fame you are, if you fight at lightweight, then I'm in your league! You guys can call this an upset if you want, but for me? When she was insulting us and making fun of our defeats at her hands? I knew she was going to pay!"
