BBU & ACB Presents: "The Ashes--Day One"

Once again Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham provide the coaching help in the flyweight division and there's a change in the ACB corner too with Yvonne Strahovski making her way from the VIP lounge and giving Bingle a motivational speech with Nikki Visser standing nearby. There's still no sign of either Liz Hurley and Elle MacPherson and some reports from Sarah Cummings indicate that both veterans are currently arm-wrestling in the locker room after their catfight was eventually interrupted by the security crew. More on that later as the crowd roars in support of Merna and the attention shifts back to the ring...

Round 1:
Kylie Minogue indicated that Lara's up for revenge after the Stevens disaster and she simply rips into Gemma right from the start, bounces off the fellow blonde's cheeks and drills her chest thereafter as even the ACB coaching staff is shocked at the ferocity of Bingle's attacks; she slams more jabs over the top with Merna struggling to cope with the high-tempo assault and just dancing on her feet in avoidance but Lara cracks a right/left combo on the mouth, splits Gemma's mitts and nails her on the eye with a left hook follow up and Merna's rocked inside the opening minute... Bingle pours in with more leather and spikes her rival on the nose; Gemma stumbles back and as she tries to keep her guard in tact, another left/right combo shatters it and paves the way for a left hook on the nose that SENDS THE HOLLYOAKS BLONDE ONTO HER KNEES and silences the London crowd in the proccess! A horrific start for one of BBU's proudest blondes as she scrambles herself upright at six and gives the Aussie vixen a really long look; Lara throws more leather but that was before the command and ref pulls her away, giving Merna more breathing space... that angers Kylie Minogue in the booth while Denise van Outen realizes some local help must be provided in order to establish the authority of this contest... Merna's back jabbing at Bingle's body after the delay but eats overhand counter as Lara rips into her again and pummels back to the ropes; another dramatic period of action for the home fans; Bingle snaps Merna's head back & forth in the dying seconds of the round and quite frankly the bell saves Gemma from a quick departure and nobody inside the Wembley Arena this. Cutmen are working on the English blonde's face already as Nikki Visser shouts "Payback" from the opposite side...

Round 2:
Gemma's as tough as they come but she got caught out in the opening round and Lara proved she's no pushover; both girls tangle in the middle of the ring again and this time Merna was prepared into all-in style of her opponent's attacks, she dekes away from another combo and as Bingle jumps after her with nothing but utter disdain in her eyes, she mounts a response and drills between the arms herself, bounces off the breasts and wobbles Lara on her feet, quick uppercut finds it's way and connects with the chin as Bingle yelps in pain but there's more from Gemma who romps away at the stomach, switches low and goes around the elbows as the midriff attack catches the visitor by surprise and it's Bingle's turn to reel back to the ropes as she suddenly seeks respite, fails to land more leather over the top with Merna outworking her in close range and clipping the jaw again. Wayward hooks from behind the guard as Bingle sags on the ropes but they all miss and Gemma uppercuts the rack instead, has the Aussie blonde gasping for air at the bell and now it's Geri Halliwell screaming back at Nikkie Visser with Denise van Outen taking over in the BBU booth as Kylie slams her foot against the floor in frustration.

Round 3:
That's what the crowd came here for; more flyweight madness with couple of blondes dishing out leather; gung-ho approach has Lara snapping Gemma's head back as she beats the Hollyoaks starlet for the first punch and clips her jaw. She follows through with more shots on the cheeks but eats a low response anyway; Gemma slamming leather on the ribs and moaning in commitement; accidental elbow bounces off Bingle's jugs and a left hook suddenly nails her on the jaw again as Merna digs herself out of trouble and just pours in with more facial assault, spikes the Aussie on the nose and lands another left hook on the jaw as Lara slips and fails to raise her arms in time. Bingle's rocked and wobbles to the side, another hook on the eye is as easy as it could have been and Gemma SENDS HER TUMBLING ON THE CANVAS much to crowd's delight. A wild roar from Nikki Visser who urges her girl to beat the count and Lara is up at seven and more importantly still throwing venom at her foe. No time for respite though as the ref is quick to resume the fight and in fact Gemma jumped the gun; she smacks a left hook on the mouth just as the command was given and Lara falls back on the ropes, half-turns but to the wrong side as Merna tears into her nose with a right hook and bursts her nostrils in the proccess... Loud moan from the wounded visitor, nobody cares as Gemma piles on with more leather between the arms and keeps roughing Lara up as the clock expires, yet the Hollyoaks blonde still lands couple of late shots; watch out dear, Nikki Visser grabs for her hair as she taunts the ACB camp with Lara suddenly looking dazed on top of having her nose bloodied. Tempers threaten to boil over real quick even if Yvonne Strahovski still keeps her calm in the VIP lounge but it doesn't look good for the Aussies again...

Round 4:
Lara's had her nose patched up and she refuses to accept Gemma's intimidating manners in the ring; another leather trade-off ensues with the younger blonde determined to upset Merna in front of her home crowd... furious exchange as the mitts bounce off the flesh; Bingle targets the rack with great efficiency as Merna's black bikini top sways from side to side but the ex-BBU champion doesn't yield an inch and scores success with overhand counter as she once again finds the Aussie's temples and whacks her around; bruising opening minute leaves both girls in need of a respite, a brief clinch follows but ref allows the to settle it on their own as Gemma shows a slight strenght advantage and breaks away first, finds another right hand on the nose and threatens to open the wound again. Lara avoided more bleeding in that furious exchange but as Gemma keeps harrassing her face, she drops her footwork speed and has her guard exposed down the stretch; slower work rate and punch frequency still give the English blonde the edge as she tops Bingle in close range and manages to reel her back to the ropes in the final minute; she switches downstairs for a change and whacks the visitor's breadbasket; Lara moans in pain and seeks another clinch; Gemma has other ideas though and clips her on the jaw, almost headbutts after the bell as the Aussie blonde leaned back on the ropes and this one is really fuming with anger on both sides as Nikki Visser has almost lost her voice already and searches for Elle MacPherson for more help but The Body is still missing from ringside. And so is Liz Hurley...

Round 5:
Less work for the ACB cutmen during the interval; Gemma failed to open the nose wound in the fourth after all and Geri Halliwell suggests her compatriot to punish Bingle at her weakest spot. "Don't care how, just butcher her guts out!", that's cruel even by Kylie Minogue's standards as Denise van Outen keeps teasing her and talks whitewash Day One even with Erika Heynatz still on the card tonight. Back in the ring Lara just doesn't seem to know a word about holding back and biding her time, either Nikki Visser has come up with something next to suicidal for her team but it all plays into the Hollyoaks blonde's hands as she rips into Lara's face again in close range, now just pummelling between the mitts and poor Aussie model doesn't have the footwork to avoid that anymore; the all-in approach trembling all over the shop as Gemma adds more jabbing on the cheeks and cuts Lara up half-way through the round with a huge right hook... knees go soft for Lara who's taken a lot of punishment tonight and fails to respond in a proper manner, single shots bounce off Merna's chest well but they are too rare to cause any damage and the English blonde actually turns on the pace even further, switches low and peppers the ribcage, clips the chest and searches for more uppercuts on the jaw, still nowhere near targeting the nose as the two minute mark has her driving a visibly aching Aussie on the ropes and Lara seeks another clinch. She moans with her eyes closed but Gemma punches her tummy into a mush anyway, the ex-champ showing superior fitness level as she looks as fresh as at the start of the contest and simply ripping into Lara's liver area as the visiting blonde squeals in pain. Merna traps her on the ropes and staggers on the spot with a nasty jab on the windpipe as the gloves offfer next to nothing support... left hook on the nose finally results in more blood in the ring as Bingle's nostrils fill up with the red liquid; Merna pushing for destruction, jabbing away at the face and just bruising her foe beyond recognition... Lara's arms go numb as she sags on the ropes and she looks out of here; ref refuses to stop the bout, seemingly enjoying Gemma's brutal execution... but there's the bell and a massive roar of delight turns south as the Aussie vixen somehow survives the pillar-to-post beating she took in this round. She wanders into her corner barely able to see her team and as Nikki Visser pulls Lara's hair out of her eyes, she holds her breath and realizes it's a no-go for her flyweight blonde...

BBU corner doesn't know the extent of damage inflicted on Lara Bingle's face yet and Gemma's mad that she couldn't finish the Aussie off already but the reality kicks in anyway moments later... Lara fails to answer the bell for the sixth and it's TKO5 Gemma Merna in bloody & brutal fashion!!!

AFTER: Merna's up on her feet celebrating and receives a well deserved ovation from the crowd but as she wants to head over to the ACB corner to add more insult to Bingle's misery, she gets blocked off by Nikki Visser herself and even the proudest of Hollyoaks' blondes knows that fly vs welter is a bad idea anywhere under the sun and steps aside.

"I can't believe this!", Kylie scowls in the booth, "Gemma just turned Lara's face into a bloody mess! Stupid ref should have stopped earlier but not only did her allow Gemma to catch a very long break in the first but then just allowed Lara to suffer such a terrible beating! Fire this man on the spot!"

"We've got more important question on our hands, Kylie", Denise van Outen responds", "Did Lara just gave up the fight? I mean, her nose looked very bad and there was some blood... OK, a lot of blood, but darling, Gemma made her submit! I don't recall the last time someone failed to answer the bell... even the usual jobbers always do..."

"Forget it, Denise! We must get Elle back in the ring! Consolling Lisa Gleave is one thing, her personal feud with Liz Hurley another but this is something else! We're getting torn to pieces so far!"

"Well spotted, Kylie. Enjoy that urn while you still can...", Denise laughs at first but stops after noticing Yvonne Strahovski making her way downstairs from the VIP lounge next to the BBU TV booth. If looks could kill, there wouldn't be a man alive in Yvonne's sight and if anyone's gonna turn the ACB tide it's the most successful fighter on site, even if she's not wearing the gloves tonight.
