BBU & ACB present "The Ashes 2013" - Day Two

The visitors have fallen behind again and must win four of the next six fights to regain the Urn! Quiet atmosphere among the ACB coaches as Kimberly Davies' presence didn't help Sophie Monk much and what's worse, Jessica Marais isn't regarded as favorite against Camilla Luddington either. The blonde actress beat a lowly ranked Kelly Reilly on her post-pregnancy comeback and then toughed out a decision against Brooke Vincent who's hardly set the world on fire with her career so far as well.

"Those wins look good on paper, Kylie, but I don't think Marais is an elite fighter", Denise comments on the blonde actress, "She's gonna win some and lose some but you need more to play on anyone's mind and I don't think Jessica has that fear factor in her. And now she MUST beat Camilla Luddington which may prove to be a little too much for her."

"Well, Denise, Camilla hasn't done much either", Kylie fires back at her fellow commentator, "I know she beat Virginie Ledoyen but that was an internal Tech Europe bout which I think was set up to launch Camilla's career with Ledoyen heading into retirement. And earlier she beat someone named Az Royal who is supposedly retired already too! I mean, what gives? You say Jessica isn't scaring anyone with her results but Camilla? She's equally anonymous if you ask me! And oh wait, Jessica is actually very big Down Under, she's like your Samia Ghadie; keeps apprearing on the all-important covers and so on... She will take Luddington to the cleaners tonight!"

As the argument in the booth continues, the fans realize that this contest is actually a coin-flipper but in case of Luddington's victory it may well and truly break the ACB's spirits with just five bouts remaining on the Ashes. Jessica Marais wearing a navy blue bikini top, black knickers and yellow gloves. Camilla Luddington wearing a white bikini top, red knickers and black gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.

Round 1:
Cautious start from both girls who spend the opening minute walking around each other and just throwing wayward leather, a sharp contrast to hitherto explosive action; following a set of jeers from the crowd it's Jessica who springs into more aggressive approach and jabs at the brunette's body, tries to clip her jaw but misses and falls into Camilla's response which catches her on the tummy but more punches crash off the guard thereafter and both girls cicle away into mid-distance again. Camilla with more frequent activity in the final minute but still refusing to really attack the blonde and Marais looks happy enough to walk around the ring and do absolutely nothing to bother her opponent and thankfully the worst round of the Ashes concludes moments later with the jeering a bit hard to handle already!

Round 2:
Geri Halliwell leads the BBU coaching team for this bout and she gives Camilla a real pep-talk during the interval. As a result the brunette jumps into the blonde's path straight after the bell and whacks her on the temple with an overhand hook, belts on the navel moments later and starts ripping into her chest much to the crowd's relief. Jessica can't really stretch her arms in wake of this barrage and leaps to the side but still eats another overhand on the cheek with Luddington finding her stride and throwing furious leather, increasing her efforts as time goes by and landing more shots on the face. Marais' guard looks suspect already as she ducks low for a clinch, wraps her arms around the brunette's waist and it's a shockingly defensive display from the blonde; Camilla gives her more leather on the ribs but fails to trap on the ropes with some nifty footwork keeping her at bay in the final minute.

Round 3:
Even Kylie Minogue and Yvonne Strahovski are uncertain about Jessica's tactics, after all she really needs to win this bout to prevent the hosts from pulling away at the sharp end of the Ashes. But the blonde actress still refuses to attack her brunette rival and allows Luddington to land more shots on the head, manages to block some of them though, yet eats a big jab on the nose and covers up as Camilla switches low and cleans out her tummy through the second minute and finally sends her backing into the ropes. Ribcage assault follows and Marais reverts into another clinch, winces a little when Camilla still pounds away at her navel but the round ends with the blonde somehow catching the local favorite on the jaw as she pierced her guard for the very first time tonight and Luddington looks upset despite dominating the still below par action in the ring.

Round 4:
Camilla senses that Jessica offers little danger tonight and jumps after the blonde again but Jessica ducks underneath her hooking attempt and bangs her on the ribs instead, goes around the elbows on a repeated basis as Camilla half-turns but loses her footing and falls into the blonde's striking zone. Luddington refuses to step away from close range though and manages to tag Marais' chin but the blonde bounces off her rack and suddenly switches into a higher gear, tags the temples with a fine hooking efforts and wobbles the brunette. Now it's Camilla's time to seek some clinch but Jessica cross-hooks her guard and nails on the nose, snaps the head back with more accurate jabs and stuns the London crowd with a quick follow up as she throws Luddington on the ropes after banging jabs on the cheeks. Camilla opens her eyes really wide and ducks underneath a flying hook; both girls tangle along the ropes and Jessica's eyes finally show some mean intentions but the English vixen manages to wrap her arms around her neck and see out the round in a clinch.

Round 5:
Kylie thinks it's the lack of confidence showing on both sides in the ring as neither girl has secured that really big scalp so far but Marais hassles the brunette again to keep up the pressure from the previous round. Luddington reverts into single striking from behind the guard and matches the blonde's footwork to avoid any meaningful leather, she tries to wear the visitor out as Jessica's physical shape was one of the flaws examined before the fights but in all her dancing around the ring, Camilla nearly trips over her own feet and gets tagged on the mouth as Marais jumps at her and follows up with more jabs on the chest. This surprises the brunette who raised her arms too high and allows Marais to pummel her jugs thereafter and push her to the ropes. Jessica sends hooks over the top eager to keep her foe trapped on the ropes but Camilla yells out in frustration and pierces the blonde's guard instead, snaps her head back and bangs a right hook on the temple right at the bell with Marais stumbling back and just shaking her head as she seemingly had Luddington right where she wanted her. Kylie still believes that the Aussie blonde did more than enough to secure the round but both girls really look a bit overwhelmed with the entire Ashes atmosphere; Denise van Outen for once agrees with her.

Round 6:
More aggression from Jessica as she whips overhands on the cheeks but Camilla responds with a series of body shots and slows the blonde down, ducks underneath a piercing hook and punishes the ribcage, making the guest vixen moan a bit. Luddington searches for an uppercut on the jaw but bounces off the guard and Marais shoves her away, finally shows some proper anger and whacks the brunette across the mouth as Camilla was slow to react and stumbled backwards as a result. Marais throws a flurry of punches but can't find her way through and allthough she pushes her rival towards the ropes, gets clinched and turned against the turnbuckles with Luddington trying to halt her progress. Ugly stuff follows, Marais squeals in frustration as the ref drags her away and enables Camilla to mount another attack from a better position but she still beats the brunette for an overhand hook, slams her on the eyes and ends back onto the ropes where she pounds away at her body and it's finally looking good for the blonde as she buries a solid gutwrencher right at the bell and leaves Luddington gasping for air.

Round 7:
Marais comes out swinging and looks for more damage, tags the brunette's temples with a spirited effort but falls into a low jabbing counter and the fight bursts into flames as Camilla whacks her on the tummy and drills more leather thereafter; Jessica thumps her on the temples again and snaps the head back but there's real venom in the ring now and the crowd can enjoy it, blonde hair flies back as Luddington tags her foe's chin and finds another hook on the eye which stumbles Marais to the side and forces to cover up. Camilla targets the midsection and sends her shots around the elbows, traps the guest in close range and keeps pushing her towards the ropes; Jessica refuses to clinch but fires a big left hook and catches the local favorite on the nose, sends more shots upstairs but fails to slice the guard and falls into the clinch anyway as Camilla wraps her arms around her neck and drags to the ground cauing an uproar in the ACB camp. She gets away with a warning but Marais stares at her with utmost disdain, another leather exchange follows but once again most shots hit the forearms and gloves and both girls eventually wear out in the last thirty seconds of the round.

Round 8:
Because of the slow start to this contest both girls still look exceptionally good physically and now the gloves are off - if not literally - as they tangle in the middle of the ring and search for the ultimate break through with the judges decision always rasing some unneccessary questions. Kimberly Davies doesn't want this to go all the way and urges the fellow blonde to really punish Camilla now but the brunette responds with more facial assault and the ribcage destruction turns awry as Marais looked for a clean shot on the liver before having her head snapped back with a vicious jabbing combo. Luddington pierces the mitts, nails a massive uppercut on the minute mark and forced Jessica to cave in; relentless pounding follows as Camilla turns on the heat and barks with almost every shot landed; she buries the Aussie under a flurry of leather and reels back to the ropes, keeps bashing her gloves apart and tags on the jaw again as a sudden war of attrition leaves Marais wobbling heavily and just seeking a clinch in the final minute. She still gets caught with more jabs on the cheeks which give her couple of nasty lumps and drive Luddington into more facial attacks; ref has to drag her away at the bell and this was the most aggressive Camilla seen tonight as Geri and Posh scream in delight while Davies and MacPherson look shell-shocked in the opposite corner.

Round 9:
Camilla wants more and Jessica falls into her striking zone, seeking a haymaker finish herself; overhand exchange leaves the Aussie wincing as the brunette tags her on the eye and follows up with some jugs assault, the local favorite suddenly much quicker on her feet or simply rocking the blonde off her comfort zone, more jabs slice Jessica's guard and add to her misery as she's breathing hard under all this assault and whatever changes she had planned late on, it's Luddington switching up a couple of gears and targeting the midriff from the minute mark. Marais on the back foot, almost running away scared after another hooks nails her on the temple; crowd urges Camilla to send the blonde packing and it's getting desperate for the ACB camp as Jessica's attempt to halt her foe's charge leaves her with a small bleeding from her left cheek; Luddington pumps facial leather and throws an aching blonde onto the ropes, drills her on the nose and Jessica can't stop moaning to save her life; vicious pounding over the top rocks her from side to side and sends onto the turnbuckles at the bell; Luddington ignores the bell and buries a low jab on the ribs which was uncalled for but the hosts are now certain that Marais won't come back to this fight as she suddenly looks all spent and the late flurry from Camilla even caught Kylie Minogue by surpise in what can be described as a strange contest.

Round 10:
Haymaker time for Marais but it's Luddington searching for the ultimate finish; she jumps after the blonde and bounces off her chest, flicks an uppercut and snaps the head back again. Jessica just unable to steer her shots anymore, takes more abuse as Luddington staggers her with a shot on the solar plexus and rips into her stomach afterwards, left/right combo on the chin follows and Marais just can't live with this onslaught, wobbles back and drops her arms; Camilla sends a crashing hook on the nose and it's finally good enough to send the aching blonde TUMBLING ONTO HER BACKSIDE as the crowd errupts in joy. Jessica's misty eyes indicate she's got nothing for the rampant brunette but she beats the count at seven, wants to avoid a late knockout even though it only fuels Luddington's anger to finish her off on the spot. Angry scream from the local girl, she leaps after the blonde and slams shots against the chest, drives the blonde back to the ropes but misses a key hook on the nose and allows Marais to respond with some low jabbing on the ribs. The Aussie refuses to clich her and sends a last-gasp flurry of leather which bounces off the brunette's midriff well and staggers her a bit, left hook on the jaw follows and it sinks Luddington on her knees as she falls onto the blonde and presses her against the ropes. Both girls moan in a hectic struggle but Camilla finally gets on top and uppercuts the blonde's jugs in the dying seconds... Jessica covers up and blocks some of these shots off but she can barely stay on her feet at the final bell and doesn't look convinced she somehow won this fight on points, that last round knockdown seemingly being an icing on the cake.

After ten rounds of boxing we go to the scorecards... Judges score the bout 98-93, 98-94 and 97-93 all for your winner through unanimous decision... CAMILLA LUDDINGTON!!!

AFTER: There's a clear daylight between the two teams as BBU pulls 7-5 ahead after a intriguing contest which looked to bore the crowd to death at the start before some fireworks appeared in the latter stages. Camilla sports a massive smile as she falls into the arms of Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham but even Denise van Outen struggles to embrace the tactics displayed on both sides. "It looks like both girls were really afraid to risk too much even though I must say that Jessica Marais doesn't have a big punch whatsoever. Camilla's recent activity did her no favors and if she had frequent opportunities, she'd realize she can punch the blonde to the orbit really quickly!"

"Ugh, I'm soo disappointed in Jessica!", Kylie responds, "She could have bullied Luddington into submission but waited for God knows what and got caught out late in the bout when she could have been easily ahead on the points! What a big chance wasted and that could put us into real trouble. I still think we can win the Ashes though as I expect our five remaining girls to roll over the English tramps with ease now!"

As Georgie Thompson indicates though, the ACB camp is still uncertain of the late push for glory as Geogia's Salpa recent stoppage of Kim Kardashian suddenly lingers on everyone's mind with Jessica Marais' somewhat upsetting loss. "Kim Davies never had Marais losing but we can say that about Camilla too! And we've got more coin-flippers left on the schedule as the Aussies can only allow themselves one more slip-up tonight! But talking about upsets, how about Holly Willoughby breaking the ACB's hearts next? Back to you, Denise..."

Final result: Camilla Luddington def. Jessica Marais UD10.
