BBU & ACB present "The Ashes 2013" - Day Two

Sarah Cummings reports from the VIP lounge as Yvonne Strahovski's contract with the Lookout! Boxing means she's torn between her country and employee ahead of the crucial lightweight bout between Georgia Salpa and Jennifer Hawkins. Even the inside information from Strahovski weren't sifficient enough to prevent a last-minute change in the line-up as Erin McNaught was supposed to face the Salpa before the Kardashian stoppage send the ACB coaching staff rocking.

"I deny passing any information from our European branch regarding Georgia's real potential. Besides you all saw it happen with her and Kardashian. And we didn't rig that bout as Kylie Minogue was telling me on the plane. I've said it yesterday and will say it again, allthough I like jenny very much, I think it's for Lookout's best interest to see Georgia winning BUT we can still take the Urn back to Melbourne since I see Rachael, Sarah and Dannii all taking those Britsh scalps!" 

Georgie Thompson says that allhough Liz Hurley is jealous of the size of Georgia's rack, she will do everything she can to support the raven-haired model's quest of pounding the former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins into submission. "We all know Jennifer from her bouts with Karolina Kurkova and if Georgia can repeat that, she will destroy the blonde!"

The score has the Brits leading 7-6 but literally everyone inside the Wembley Arena is curious to see whether Georgia's win over Kim Kardashian was a mere fluke or has she really improved under the Lookout! Atlantic banner? She steals the introductions in a lacy black bikini and matching knickers; red gloves complete her attire and it takes some presence to put a Miss Universe in shade! But Jennifer's well known to the UK audience and she's very much holding her own in a bright green bikini set & golden gloves.

Round 1:
Salpa bursts out of her stool but Kimberly Davies had that covered and ordered Hawkins to do exactly the same as both girls rip into each other in the middle of the ring, snapping heads back and taking relentless punishment from the start; Hawkins slices Salpa's mitts with more success and gives the black haired for a fat lip very early which has Kylie jumping in the booth but as she drops her arms, Georgia tags her on the nose and pours in with another mighty jab that catches her on the jaw and wobbles back. Furious exchange continues with Jennifer working the single hand against the cheek but Georgia firing back at the cleavage, she switches low and bounces that green bikini, flicks an uppercut that skims off the jaw and has the blonde weaving on her feet. That's all new & improved Georgia right there according to van Outen as she thumps more leather on the face in the final minute, tries to make amends for that fat lip but loses her balance and bends forward; enables Hawkins to come on top right at the death when the blonde spikes her on the temples and wobbles to the side. Ref was quick to haul the brunette off as Jennifer tries to follow up even after the bell and look at those happy faces in the ACB corner!

Round 2:
Georgia's upset about that fat lip, 'pure accident' according to her coach Hurley and the war of attrition continues with Hawkins storming at the brunette and looking to give her more bruising. She targets the massive rack and bounces off it with couple of uppercuts, turns to the side and nails Salpa with a huge hook on the temple again; Georgia wobbles dangerously and winces in pain as Jennifer pours in with more venom, blasts another set of jabs on the face and seeks destruction, switches low again after staggering the Brit girl in the middle of the ring, goes around the elbows and pounds away at her ribcage. Georgia closes her eyes and tries to clinch but has her arms sliced by the high-tempo assault, Hawkins' golden gloves rip into the brunette's chest and leave her reeling back to the ropes where the blonde simply buries her under more leather, thumps against the midriff and makes all the praise about Salpa's newly found strenght look foolish. Terrible round for the local favorite who can't break away from her nemesis and Jennifer whacks her on the navel just before the bell, cross-hooks the guard again and nails on the mouth, raises her glove in delight as she gets dragged away leaving the entire BBU corner gobsmacked.

Round 3:
Hawkins picks up where she left off and squares up to her seemingly aching rival, sends immediate assault on the head but Salpa for once keeps her arms in tact and prevents more damage; Jennifer leans on her though and throws a series of uppercuts on the rack, eats a quick overhand reply on the nose but that doesn't bother her... another right uppercut nails her on the jaw though as Georgia showed some nifty footwork and broke the close distance; she peppers the blonde's midriff from the side as Hawkins reaches after her but can only graze the temple before wobbling forward; Salpa tags her on the jaw again with a quick hook, follows up from the other side and bangs a jab on the eye that forces the blonde to step back. Both girls circle around each other thereafter as the tempo calms down a bit; Georgia finds some respite and it looks like she can punch really good after all as Jennifer looks uneasy after receiving couple of those heavy thumps, sends single shots from behind the guard but for whatever reason decides against putting her dark-haired rival under more pressure and earns a staunch response from Elle MacPherson during the interval as letting the rivals off the hook has already cost the visitors a couple of results earlier on the card! Unacceptable behavior which even leaves Strahovski shaking her head in the VIP lounge.

Round 4:
Jennifer's back to her aggressive approach and jumps after Georgia straight from the bell, whips couple of hooks on the head but fails to break the guard once again and eats a pummelling on the chest moments later as the English girl rips uppercuts on the chest, leans on the blonde and starts punishing her body which allegedly was Hawkins' Plan A according to Green & Gold's preview. Wide slaps bounce off Jennifer's ribcage thereafter and she's forced back again with Salpa settling into mid-distance thumping but without much intended damage. Another switch of pace, Hawkins slows down even further to almost a walking display and Georgia's leaps after her after a brief hesitation, still beats the blonde for an overhand left, both heads snap back though but it's the brunette finding the follow up first as she tags Jennifer on the jaw and bounces off her chest, makes the blonde lose her footing by accident and pours over the top as Hawkins tried to deke to the side but just couldn't in time before a right hand slams her on the nose and sends spinning to the ropes! That gets the crowd going again as Georgia fakes a facial assault and buries more jabs on the stomach instead; Hawkins covers up and tries to move to the side but eats more leather on the tummy and can only clinch herself out of trouble with Salpa rushing her attack and getting warned about a lacing shot on the kidneys. Hawkins back to stalemate tactics and once again needs to be reminded what's exactly her goal tonight. Wearing the life out of Salpa's lungs isn't what Elle told her back home but perhaps the late line-up changes derailed the blonde's confidence more than one suspected. Still no worried looks around the ACB camp as Georgia survived the first onslaught but remains too inconsistent to cause the guests some real trouble. "It can all change in a flush though!", Denise gives Kylie an omminious warning before the fifth...

Round 5:
Another quick leap from both sides before a sizzling right hook conencts with the jaw and sends the victim spinning around on her feet... Hawkins shrikes in pain as she was on the receiving end of that.. Kylie's not jumping around the booth anymore but Georgia slices the blonde's mitts moments later and whacks her on the nose with both hands, switches low for more blows on the chest and whips her on the navel as well in a sudden flurry of leather... Hawkins' rocked and some old Kurkova demons appear before Elle Mac's eyes as Salpa bangs more jabs over the top and pierces the Aussie model's guard, bounces off both her cheeks to cause more shrieking... Jennifer tries to jump back but loses her footing and eats another vicious hook on the nose with Salpa leaning on her and just dishing out punishment... Knees give way after another hooking combo catches Jennfier on the jaw AND SENDS HER CRASHING AT SALPA'S FEET with the Wembley Arena crowd errupting in joy and poor Kylie Minogue ripping her hair out in frustration! Still over a minute left on the clock as the blonde goes back upright at six and indicates she's all OK but her coaches looks equally stunned and for once Kimberly loses her focus... Georgia whips more overhands on the face and has the Aussie model running to the side, trying to avoid more trouble but to no avail as the buxom Brit girl still tags her on the nose and traps on the turnbuckles late on, sends more jabs on the stomach and has Hawkins moaning in pain at the bell... another quick uppercut right at the death sags the blonde on her knees and Salpa refuses to let go, leans on the Aussie and whisphers something in her ear as Jennifer replies with a death stare but can do nothing about losing this round otherwise.

Round 6:
Perhaps a repeat of Nikki Visser's mistake from yesterday but Elle tells Jennifer to mount an immediate comeback and don't waste any time in restoring the ACB advantage. That was the model's plan anyway and Liz Hurley has no complaints to see another vicious exchange at the start of the sixth. Salpa opens up from both flanks and allthough Hawkins tries to keep up with these efforts, gets slammed on the cheeks and stumbles back as the brunette rips into her chest and staggers on the spot again... left hook over the top nails the blonde on the eye and Jennifer's medicore punch resistance gets exposed as Salpa turns on the pace and whips her red gloves against the chin and finds success... snaps the blonde's head around and causes the arms to drop, thumps a double combo on the nose AND SENDS THE AUSSIE TUMBLING ONTO HER SIDE again as Kimberly Davies leaps from her corner and realizes the danger... but it's too late as Jennifer stays on all fours at six and barely makes it back upright at nine looking very shaky.. Salpa wants more of this and demands to call off the stoppage... Ref loses the plot a bit and sends a visibly second-hand blonde right into the brunette's path as Georgia whacks more hooks on the cheeks, bounces off the nose AND HAWKINS' KNEES ARE DONE... she crashes hard onto her side again and this time she's not coming back and just mumbles in the agony of defeat... KO6 Georgia Salpa!!!

AFTER: Defeaning silence among the ACB coaches as Georgia shakes her cleavage in front of the reporters and sends a vicious message that the Kardashian win was no fluke after all. It's 8-6 on the night and when Jennifer Hawkins hit the canvas for the third time, she put her team's back against the wall however Kylie Minogue remains confident about keeping the Urn anyway! "That's all nothing! Good luck with those Lookout! tramps, Georgia! We still got our best three left and when Rachael Finch knocks the stuffing out of that Rochelle girl, it will all come back to us!"

But the atmosphere down in the ring indicates otherwise as Elle and Kimberly escort a sobbing Jennifer back to the locker room and call for a quick gathering of thoughts. Just like mentioned last night, it all should come down to Finch vs Humes and as Georgie Thompson reports, the odds have shifted in favor of the ACB champion even though it's now or never time for the guests. Meanwhile Yvonne Strahovski leaves the VIP lounge and heads ringside, first to offer Georgia Salpa a friendly hug - perhaps a personal money bonus from the Lookout! manager is coming up as well - and then to assist MacPherson and Davies during the last three bouts of the event.

Final result: Georgia Salpa def. Jennifer Hawkins KO6.
