Word gets out that Heidi Klum predicted a mid round KO. Gwyneth Paltrow responds in slow, measured tones: “ At this point it’s fair to say that Heidi is a FORMER model. And models just aren’t able to fight at a high level. That’s why they always compete with each other; because they can’t compete with the rest of us. Heidi needs to understand that my body is ready to go 10, 20, even 30 rounds tonight. I’m going to control the fight, and when forcing hurt on her gets boring, I’m going to sit her down. But that will make this a very intriguing bout for the fans. We’ll get a close up look at how much Klum wants to compete in this league. The only question mark in this fight is how many times she’ll get up before she stays down for good!”

Heidi responds: “Of course I’m going to knock her out. I constantly think about how I’ll end this fight. A straight right hand between her eyes. A sweeping hook to her chin. Maybe a tight little uppercut to her body. That one is my favorite! That kind of tough talk is expected. I signed up for this bout to fight and she seems prepared to do the same. And that’s what all the fans want to see; two gorgeous girls fighting it out in there.
I can’t speak for her, but I think we both respect each other. She thinks she’ll beat me, and I think I’ll beat her. That’s why we have to put on the gloves and find out who is stronger. The difference is, we’re not children. When this fight is over, all those feelings are gone. At least they are for me. But until it’s over, I spend every moment thinking about standing over her as the ref counts her out. ”

Round 1: Both girls steely eyed and focused. Slight sneer on Klums lips, it’s clear she has something to prove. Paltrow leaving her left out halfway, pawing, aggressive. Klum getting off ones and two, sticking her tab straight threw Paltrows spread guard. Hard shots from both girls, but Klum busier, forcing Paltrow to tuck her gloves under her chin. Klum lands a few ineffective blows, but probably wins the round by sheer punch count. Neither girl sitting down in between rounds. Heidi elects to stand as her corner works, trying a demonstration of strength to psyche out her opponent. Gwyneth, not to be outdone, stands in her corner as well looking strong in between rounds.

Round 2: Paltrow checking that jab into Klum’s guard. Tapping the shell, feinting four, five six times, then coming with thunder! Forces Klum to backstep. Heidi is getting off the combos she wants but can’t seem to make Gwyneth feel her power. Heidi still throwing and landing as Paltrow closes in, tight guard high, giving up the body to plant her elbows on the German, pushing her back towards the ropes. Heidi throwing around that guard, even sticking a few uppercuts to bounce the American’s head. Manages to hurl twin uppercuts into Gwyneth’s hard torso, drawing no reaction from Paltrow. It’s like hitting a piece of iron. But it’s Gwyneth landing the decisive shots down the stretch. Too accurate, establishing a rhythm spearing home those tight little combos. Klum grabbing and holding, but Gwyneth punches out of it. both girls throw bombs at the bell forcing each other to back step as the round ends.

Round 3: Gwyneth sets up in center ring, finding her range and throwing those quick combos. Klum forced to keep to the outside, bobbing and weaving then leaping in with her attack. She’s working so hard to get her punches off and can’t seem to get around Gwyneth’s ever present left hand. Paltrow jabbing twice for every punch from Klum, forcing Heidi to be very cautious about closing to trade leather. Klum ducks under a sweeping right hand and comes up on the other side with a CRACKER to the jaw, sending Paltrow into shock! Gwyneth looks to get in close to clinch and buy time to clear her head. She rides it out and starts LANDING THOSE ELECTRIC COMBINATIONS! Punches in bunches from Paltrow driving her girl back into the ropes. Klum uses wide swinging hooks to punch out. She knows Gwyneth is acting like a big girl bully and has to punch her in the face to make her stop. Klum playing matador very effectivelyl, but when she ducks under Gwyneth’s latest punch, Paltrow plants her gloves on Heidi’s back holding her down to stop the onslaught. A savvy veteran move that draws a few boos from the crowd. Not popular, but definitely effective.

Round 4: Highlights between rounds on the Jumbotron show both girls landing clean punches, bone rattling stuff from these two boxers. Girls meet in center ring and it’s Gwyneth again with that high guard, upping her output to keep Klum at bay. She’s established inside position again but elected not to chase Klum into the ropes, Heidi continues to engage, thinking she can win the exchanges with more punches than Gwyneth. More punches would beat harder punches seems to be Heidi’s approach. Paltrow begins to rely on a lead left hook to the body, arcing her glove beautifully to find a home behind Heidi’s elbow. Klum just can’t resist the invitation to trade as power punching seems to be Klum’s favorite game. As the punches start to flow, both girl’s blood starts to rise and it’s Heidi Klum that’s landing the biggest punches. A straight right to the cheek earning a satisfying head snap from Gwyneth. She doesn’t look as comfortable here as Heidi is just outworking her, throwing bigger combinations and overwhelming the American with leather. Heidi throws a right to the ribs and Paltrow takes the opportunity to wrap her left arm around the glove, locking the German in and forcing a break from the ref. The fans are disappointed by the stalling tactics, but trading haymakers with Heidi is not the gameplan. Paltrow buys time to end the round and regroup in her corner.

Round 5 Interesting note: Heidi now taking a seat on her stool in her corner. Clearly, this fight is a little more intense than she was expecting. Paltrow following suit, passing up the chance for a little gamesmanship. It looks like the refresher has served these girls well because it’s MADNESS as both girls meet power with power! Now it’s Heidi Klum with that inside position, lobbing uppercuts and hooks requiring Gwyneth to backstep and reset. Paltrow giving as good as she gets, but looking to be more methodical. She’s still moving well, ducking and rolling, trying to surprise Klum with her power. Heidi WILL NOT STOP coming forward! Klum still launching those hard combos, catching Gwyneth’s counters on her gloves and hitting her targets with startling accuracy, asking questions of Paltow’s will. Gwyneth responds by asking the same questions of Klum. It’s even two way action until Gwyneth plants her right on Heidi’s jawline. wobbling Klum’s knees and giving Gwyneth the upper hand. No quit in the German as she continues to set the pace, one that she might not be able to maintain for the entire round. Heidi’s punch count starts to drop off as the round draws to a close. Paltrow probably took that round with that staggering right. Crowd whipped into a frenzy by the hostility coming from these two girls.

Round 6: Gwyneth’s corner working like field medics. Their girl needing lots of work after last round. Ditto in Klum’s camp. No major cuts or bruises, just hard crushing blows flying both ways. Klum looking to reestablish her frantic pace, but Gwyneth outmaneuvers her and forces her to the ropes. It’s still sturdy two way combos, but now it’s Paltrow getting off first, requiring Heidi to respond. Neither girl gaining an upper hand or backing down. Fans are rabid, eating up this kind of fight. No running, no holding, just big girls throwing big punches. This pace is starting to wear on Klum, her footwork looks a little sloppy, throwing punches off balance and hoisting uppercuts without being set. Klum’s counters are starting to go right over Paltrow’s head. And now it’s Gwyneth taking advantage by burying hooks to the body. Paltrow definitely busier now, the body attack has started to take the wind out of Heidi’s sails, but Klum can’t seem to slow down, making her attack unfocused. Now it’s Gwyneth Paltrow getting off two, three, four punch combinations taking what she wants from the German. Klum falls in for the clinch, hoping to reset off the break. But Paltrow offers no quarter, recommitting to her biting assault, tracking her girl down and shifting to another gear, looking to swarm Heidi. And it’s CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH to the chin of Klum, stunning her as the bell ends the round.

Round 7: Paltrow knows she can get her girl out of there, with a big push and HERE IT COMES!!! Big punches with her whole body behind them. FEROCITY from Gwyneth as Klum is looking shaky, stumbling around sponging up punishment. Heidi is still game, trying to dish it out, but she can’t match Gwyneth’s output. Klum just blindly wading forward into hurt, can’t seem to change direction like a freight train headed off a cliff. Manages to tie Gwyneth up to earn a momentary respite. But after the break, Paltrow is right back in her face, now throwing more punches, landing harder shots. Not looking for the homerun, content with constant substantial damage. It all pays off as her RIGHT CRASHES HOME ON HEIDI’S JAW, unhinging Klum’s guard. It’s just hanging out there, offering no protection as Gwyneth descends on her helpless foe, throwing left after right after left. Klum just sponging it up, not throwing anything back... and THE REF STOPS IT!! Heidi Klum wobbly and saying she is good to go in the refs arms! A close look in her eyes says otherwise as her protests fall on deaf ears!! Gwyneth Paltrow walks away your winner by TKO7!!

After: Paltrow parading around the ring gloves held high, soaking up the love from the crowd. Feels she was the better fighter and this result was inevitable. Heidi sportsmanlike in defeat, raises Gwyneth’s right hand acknowledging her victory. The two girls smile and hug congratulating each other on a well fought contest.

Heidi Klum: “What can I say? She’s an excellent fighter. Neither one of us wanted to back down and we took each other’s best punches. I think if we fight ten times we each win five. That’s not to take anything away from her. Tonight it’s her night and she earned it. But next time it might be my night!!”

Gwyneth: “ She is a WARRIOR!! I mean, I knew I was ready for that kind of fight but I really thought she would have gone down long before when it was stopped. She pushed me to a higher place. A place where I know I can get out there and slug with any girl who wants to try it. Look out world! Gwyneth Paltrow is coming!
