LOOKOUT! ATLANTIC BBU MINI-CARD

Before: Teresa Palmer still undefeated thus far in the BBU, though has not competed yet this year. However, she is picking what may well be the right time to take on her biggest challenge yet against Lisa Maffia, who recently lost the BBU Bantamweight title against welsh wonder Charlotte Church. However, whether it's the best time to take on Lisa following such a loss will be discovered here in this contest as whether Teresa will find her a vulnerable opponent or will regret taking her on if she turns out to be a furious foe. Teresa, however, is very confident heading into the contest and does not appear to be concerned. Lisa is just as eager to resume her winning streak and end Teresa's streak at the same time! Both fighters gazing at each other confidently as they touch gloves and then push off of each other, being separated by the referees before the two land any blows before the match.

R1: Lisa and Teresa a little slow to start, sizing each other up as they circle one another and flicking out jabs to test one another's defenses. Lisa a little taller and using her length to start jabbing at the blonde's face, forcing her to retreat a little bit as Teresa brings up her gloves defensively. Teresa using her legs to keep trying to circle around Maffia, but Lisa remains in pursuit as she uses a right hook to try to cut off the lanes of escape for Palmer, that smacks into Teresa's cheek. Lisa scoring big in the opening round with that power shot, crowding Teresa back into the ropes and making her take weight. Palmer backpedaling, but spitting out some jabs of her own to connect with Maffia's face. But, Lisa is the aggressor here as she keeps hounding Teresa to the ropes, whacking with rights and lefts towards her head and shoulders. Teresa forced to cover up as she is butt-in-ropes, but still delivering punches off of the ropes when she gets a chance but Lisa doesn't offer her many and the recent champ is off to a great start as she takes the first.

R2: Lisa keeps up the aggression in the second round now as she comes charging in, with Palmer doing her best to negate Lisa's size with power of her own. The blonde is bullied back towards the ropes, but ducks underneath the outstretched jabs to deliver some good counterpunching with a cross across Lisa's face and then delivers a hard hook behind Maffia's elbow, just whacking right into her ribcage to force Lisa to backpedal a bit. Palmer getting in some offense now as she tries to keep sending her mitts crashing into Lisa's face. Lisa bringing up her guard as she sponges up the punishment, just fighting back as they rotate across the ring, drilling out some hooks towards Palmer's face. Palmer doing a good job using her legs to avoid most of the shots as she keeps just bouncing leather off of Maffia's abs, doubling her foe over and pushing her backwards as they get close to the ropes. But, Lisa isn't about to let herself get trapped against the ropes as she finally starts to connect across Palmer's face late in the round with a hard right hand that catches her cleanly across the cheek and sends Teresa staggering into the ropes instead. Lisa roaring in as she just rips away at Palmer, trying to connect as Palmer does a good job bobbing and weaving along the ropes to keep from getting floored, but Lisa's late burst of offense steals the round as the ref has to pull Maffia off of the blonde at the end of two.

R3: Lisa feeling more confident as the match has continued, continuing to apply pressure to Palmer as the blonde has been unable to get into a rhythm so far tonight. Maffia managing to come forward and rip away at Palmer, just slamming in shots around her head and shoulders, occasionally driving in a hard punch towards her tummy to try to force the blonde back. Teresa displaying good ring presence and legwork though, using those legs of hers to keep circling and bouncing to the side, leather lashing out into her foe's tummy and keeping her from attacking too much. Maffia keeps maneuvering around Palmer, just hooking away at her flank and face, alternating between the two to keep the blonde off balance and hopefully dropping her guard to set up a bigger shot as the round progresses. As Palmer's gloves lower a bit, Lisa drifts in a hard overhand right but is caught by surprise as Teresa steps out of the way, allowing the glove to sail by her head and delivers a gorgeous counterpunch with a left hook that sails over her outstretched arm. Connecting cleanly with her cheek, the collision can be heard throughout the arena as the hook rocks Lisa and her head whips to the side, stumbling off balance. Teresa hops forward and the blonde follows up with a hard right uppercut that lifts Maffia up off of her feet, depositing her to her back with a thud and LISA IS DOWN! Teresa slides back to her corner, pumping one fist into the air as Lisa is dazed on the canvas. All of the momentum suddenly swings Palmer's way after that stunning shot as Maffia lays sprawled across the canvas, barely beating the count and the bell as she suffers a devastating knockdown to award Teresa the third round of this contest.

R4: Having weathered the initial onslaught from Lisa, it's Palmer who looks fresher now coming out for this round as Maffia is looking a little shabby coming off of her stool. Now, it's Teresa's turn to be the aggressor as she sends out a hard shot right to Lisa's breadbasket, doubling her over and then stuffing in shots to her tummy. Mitts bouncing in against both flanks, forcing Lisa to cover up early as she cradles her tummy. Lisa using those powerful legs of hers to slide backwards out of range, but the blonde continues to harass her by hammering in shots from overhead, peppering her face with jabs and kicking her head backwards. Maffia proud as she manages to remain upright, even as she is wobbly-butt and keeping her guard up, punching at Palmer to keep her backwards. But, Teresa sliding to the left to send in a hard left hook to Maffia's jaw and then a right to her temple, with a slick one-two combination to send Lisa staggering back into the ropes. Lisa butt-in-ropes as she sponges up shots as Palemr hooks across her head and shoulders, trying to absorb shots along her forearms but some sneaking through to catch her across her face and cheek, with Teresa even slipping in a few hard shots across her chest to send her slumping into the ropes. A hard left cross to her cheek has Lisa reeling at the bell, thankful that this round came to end as this was a shutout by the blonde as Maffia staggers to her stool at the break, clutching her head and abs as she tries to recover for the next round.

R5: Maffia sliding along the ropes out of her corner as Palmer charges across the ring, looking to hammer her across her face again with haymakers whipping through the air. Maffia still looking a bit slow, but dropping low and brings up her guard to try to protect herself as she looks to recover, but Teresa's brand of offense is not allowing her to catch her breathe as well. Teresa working her way inside, the blonde bullying Lisa backwards as she just rips away at her tummy and ribs, exposing her as she bends Lisa over. Maffia's rear poking back through the ropes as she covers up along her tummy and then Palmer immediately sends in a right cross that thumps into her temple. The cross connects hard as Lisa's eyes widen, then she is blinking as she staggers to the side and then falls forward along the ropes, unable to catch them to slow her descent as Palmer scores with another big knockdown!! Teresa hops back to her corner, smiling confidently as she watches Lisa struggle to rise, but Maffia does beat the count. Raising up in time as Teresa is quick to roll in, as the ref moves out of the way with Teresa just sending out another hard jab that cracks into Lisa's nose hard and has the former champ backpedaling at once. Maffia's footwork unable to keep up with the pressure from Palmer, who is pouncing forward and just battering her across her head and shoulders, scrubbing in shots along her jugs and whacking at her torso. Maffia is being knocked about along the ropes, just struggling to stay upright as Palmer moves in, wrapping her arms around her waist to ragdoll her against the ropes. Lisa bounces off of them and runs right into a right uppercut that sends her crashing back to her butt with a thud. Then, Lisa sprawls to her side awkwardly on the canvas as Palmer scores a SECOND knockdown of the round, bringing her total to three as the ref starts to count but is unable to complete it as the bell rings to signal the end of the round. This round of course, clearly went to Teresa with TWO knockdowns that left Lisa down, but not out – yet. Whether this is a blessing or a curse for Lisa is up for debate as it doesn't look like she was going to beat the count before the bell, but does allow her an opportunity to survive for another round. Lisa is revived on her stool, just swaying a bit, eyes struggling to focus and there is discussion on whether to let her continue, but Lisa is determined to keep fighting as she makes her way to her feet unsteadily and demands an opportunity to destroy the blonde. Teresa just smiles watching the exchange and comes out confident for the next round.

R6: Lisa is barely able to push off from the ropes, looking pretty shot as she staggers, face red and body bruised as she absorbs a beating in the past few rounds. Eyes still lighting up as she keeps on fighting, but can't seem to connect as Teresa quickly chases her down and picks up right where she left off, just bouncing her mitts off of opposing tummy with repeated hooks and jabs to her abs. Maffia doubles over, legs trembling and wobbly-butt once more as she tries to stumble towards the security of the ropes. Palmer in pursuit, however, catching up with her after just a few steps and slipping in a right uppercut through Lisa's gloves as she rips her with a HUGE uppercut. The uppercut slams right into her chin as it lifts Maffia off of her feet, knocking her head backwards and then sending her crashing to her back in the middle of the ring. Palmer stands over her, gloves upraised into the air, beaming victoriously as she doesn't expect Maffia to get back up. Lisa suffering yet another knockdown, battered badly as she is sprawled across the canvas, arms raised over her head as her eyes are closed and it's clear she isn't going to get back up, with no movement except for the shallow rise and fall of her chest. The ref doesn't even bother ordering Palmer backwards as he counts to ten, the count passing Maffia by as she suffers a sustained beatdown and hard loss to Teresa Palmer via KO6!!

After: What a big win for Teresa Palmer, who delivers a thorough thrashing to Lisa Maffia here tonight. Lisa is still out as she tries to rise for a moment, sitting up briefly as she then crashes back to her back near the ropes, slumbering as she is spreadeagled along the canvas. Teresa grins as she saunters over to her foe along the ropes and turns around, wiggling her tush back and forth, raising her gloves up into the air again in triumph. Then, Teresa starts to kick her feet backwards, dumping imaginary sand across Lisa to “bury” her as the Palmer supporters in the crowd cheers and in fact, cheer even louder a second later with Teresa's next maneuver. Palmer suddenly kicks her foot backwards into Lisa's body, knocking her backwards underneath the ropes to send her crashing to the floor outside with a brutal-sounding thud. Palmer sending Lisa out of the ring and delivering a huge message with not only that move right there, but the entire match as she maintains her undefeated streak in style and has proclaimed this HER ring as she keeps moving towards bigger and better things with each win. Tonight, was certainly her biggest win yet but certainly not her last, as Teresa saunters around the ring and looks down at a defeated Lisa on the outside with a confident smile across her face.
