GIRLS ALOUD LIONESS CLUB INTRODUCTION

Allthough Cheryl Cole usually gets the all important following from the fans and pundits, the Lioness Club head trainer Gina Wild voices her confidence that Sarah Harding is actually the real star of the Girls Aloud lot and the best signing for the Barnet based stable. "First of all I must say that all the girls are the best at something, whether it's dancing, singing or blowing balloons but when it comes to boxing, Sarah is the real star. I think she's the most underrated lightweight in the UK but she's finally arrived at the right place. Beating Natalie Gumede tonight will become a new beginning to her BBU career!" 

Not everyone inside the KO Club shares the German trainer's opinion as most of the crowd still remembers well how Coronation Street starlet Gumede knocked Christine Bleakley out last October and has been specifically chosen to make her Barnet comeback against the blonde singer in sheer vengence fashion. "Sarah will do what Christine couldn't and send the otherwise attractive Natalie back where she belongs!", Melanie Brown tells Olivia Godfrey ringside but warns about Gumede's big punch. "Natalie hasn't fought this year yet but that's down to the fact she's got quite intimidating punch. That Bleakley win opened several eyes. But we're never afraid of challenging the most impressive rivals and I almost wish I was fighting at light since I'd have challenged Natalie myself! But Sarah will beat her up anyway so it's gonna be a good night for us anyway!"

Round 1:
After receiving so much praise from Gina Wild and Mel B. the crowd anticipates a stunning blonde victory and Sarah blasts into an early attack, has Natalie weaving around on her feet quickly but failing to avoid all the leather. Couple of hooks land clean on the cheeks and force the actress into some response but as Gumede targets the chest, she eats an overhand left on the temple and falls into more jabs on the tummy with Harding working the single hand on the ribcage to keep the intensity going down the stretch. Natalie loses the opening exchange, settles into single punching from behind the guard as she's able to match the blonde's footwork but Sarah's longer reach still enables her to slip by the guard and add more early bruises on the cheeks; Gumede not entirely confident in defence as she's hassled on the back foot for remainder of the round but avoids serious trouble and Sarah doesn't seem to be running on high gear on top of that but still does more than enough to show a big smile to the Barnet crowd at the interval.

Round 2:
Natalie wasted that opening round and she knows it, Sarah closes her down but finally tastes some leather as Gumede whacks her over the top and catches the brow ridge, follows up on the stomach and makes the blonde moan a bit before a quick uppercut skims off the guard and unsettles the Corrie girl who misses subsequent hook on the eye. Sarah half-turns and sends single shots over the top, fails to connect though as Natalie dekes around those shots and in fact both girls settle into mid-range attacks without much fire; perhaps that alleged big punch lingers on the blonde's mind for just a moment but when Natalie moves in on her and assaults the chest, she responds to the task and swings around the head. Lots of mean intentions on display but accuracy goes south and just single shots score thereafter, nothing to chose between the two in a bit reserved exchange as Gumede shows more flexibility and spikes the ribcage late in the going, avoids Harding's overhand counter and springs to the side to make the singer wobble in frustration at the bell.

Round 3:
Harding got caught first in the previous round and seems to dwell too much on that as Gumede steps in with a flying hook and exposes the blonde's old demons much to trainer Wild's anger. Couple of hooks wobble the guard and Natalie shifts low for more success as she bounces off Sarah's navel and keeps punishing her in close range before Harding fires back on the cheeks but forces a clinch to ensure a fresh start. Ref shoves the actress away and Sarah leaps into her path with some hooks of her own, slips by the head as Gumede makes the dancer's flexibility look subpar and nails her on the chest with a jabbing series, wobbles the blonde on her feet again as Harding seeks another clinch with overhand response going wayward; Gumede pours in on the mouth in close range to leave the Barnet crowd stunned, crashes off the chin and rocks the blonde who must jump away to safety but the actress seemingly lets her off the hook with a cheeky smile on her face; Sarah wipes some sweat off her forehead as she circles around the ropes and the crowd realizes that Gumede might be a real lightweight sleeper and a real handful for the singer to handle.

Round 4:
The cagey affair continues with Sarah now all on the back foot and just letting Natalie back into this one, menacing footwork from the Corrie girl enables her to land single shots on the face but while it adds the numbers, it doesn't impress the singer nor the crowd much. Sluggish punchwork at the minute mark before Harding springs into life again but misses another crucial opener and Gumede sneaks low to target the ribcage, sends a clean hook on the eye before switching low again and pounding at the blonde's midriff. Harding back to clinching stalemate to bide some time, Natalie squeezes harder in the lock though as she nearly drags the singer off her feet to earn a whistling response from the crowd. Harding circles back after the command... coach Gina Wild totally beside herself in the Lioness corner as Natalie leaps after her and cracks an overhand hook on the mouth, drills the ribcage moments later and Sarah fell for that trick again, arms too high but there's nothing on the head coming as Gumede cleans out her stomach instead and leaves barking in anger at the bell. Natalie all smiles in the opposite corner as she continues to annoy the Barnet faithful.

Round 5:
No signs of rustiness in the ring for the Corrie actress thus far while Sarah's earned a heavy hair-dryer from coach Wild during the interval and blasts after her opponent in the most furious fashion since round one. Gumede gets caught napping for a change as she loses the opening punch which slices her on the mouth and immediate follow up tears the skin under the left eye with Harding in a sudden burst of fury just sending leather over the top and shattering Natalie's guard and forcing her back. Another footwork swing enables Gumede to get out of trouble but she realizes she's been cut by a seemingly wayward shot and perhaps she's been too laid back in the previous round; back to the punishing plan as she tries to dish out a surprise herself with Sarah charging forward... BAAANNNG... accidental clash of heads leaves both girls calling for a break momets later and the ref has no other option with the skulls thumping against each other... quick look at both fighters and while Sarah's developed a nasty bump right on the hairline, Natalie took the worst hit which tore that cut under her eye into a really nasty gash... Her cutmen just can't believe the bad luck as they work frantically to patch the wound up while Sarah listens to Gina's words of advice... Back we go again in the final minute and both girls charge at each other... Natalie grazes the temple but just lacks core strenght behind her punch as Sarah whacks her on that wounded eye with a huge right hook instead and sags on the knees on the spot... flurry of punches suddenly bounces off the Corrie girl's face as Harding rips through her mitts and just pounds away at the wounded eye, sends Natalie spinning towards the ropes and just leans on her, whacks around the elbows with the blood seeping from that gash and leaving stains on the blonde's golden bikini, Natalie hangs on for the bell but just shakes her head as she walks towards her stool.

Round 6:
Another heavy pep-talk during the interval springs Harding into more action but Gumede realizes her gash won't get any better and she needs to put the hammer down herself, flyweight-like pounding seconds into the sixth with both girls going all-in, tremendouns punch resistabnce with heads snapping backwards and the hair flying like crazy but Sarah pummels through on the eye with few hooks more and while Gumede gives her a siginifcant swelling on both cheeks, she must retreat to safety when the blood stars to leak down her face and cause serious discomfort. Sarah hassles her in response, tries to fake some low jabs but the target is obvious and Natalie knows it, refuses to buckle but does little to halt the blonde's charge and eats jabbing series around the elbows, clips the chin on the counter but Sarah gets the last laugh, finds a clean uppercut and roots Gumede to the spot, follows up over the top and ravages the gash again, bends a screaming Natalie to the side and rips another uppercut on the jaw THAT SENDS THE BRUNETTE BOUNCING OFF THE ROPES and just unable to find her feet anymore... Down goes Gumede onto her knees and as she leans her head against the canvas, the leaking blood is starting to get really worrying, now leaving marks on her knees and forearms and as she lifts her head and jumps back upright at seven, ref calls for the medics to asses the damage... Natalie wants to continue, no doubt about it but there's a nasty swelling appearing around the eye; cutmen are given the LAST chance to do something about it and we have another break... Sarah leans against the ropes and takes a well-deserved breather. She leaps after the actress after the command and seeks more eye damage as Natalie comes in half-hearted and gets caught between the arms again, rocked on her feet with a grazing hook on the temple and jumps away to safety, survives another round but looks to be losing her spirit in numbers as she's visibly concerned by that swollen eye.

Round 7:
The gash on Natalie's left eye has grown into a golf-ball size and affects her vision now, the cutmen unable to deal with it and Gumede can't see the shots coming her way, half-turns in avoidace but Sarah just pounds away to glory, ripping jabs into the brunette's face and snapping her head back, relentless push for the finish line as Natalie's footwork is all gone by the minute mark with Harding trapping her butt-in-ropes and causing the blood leak again.. the entire cleavage covered in red with Sarah just adding to the onslaught and relieving the brunette of any resistance... loud moaning follows another jabbing combo on that gash and Gumede sails away into a sobbing state, just can't see a damn thing anymore and shakes her head, signals to the ref she's unable to resists the barrage anymore as Harding's ruthless as you like until the ref MUST STEP IN to salvage the last ounce of Gumede's physical attraction... Bloody TKO7 Sarah Harding!!!

AFTER: The Bleakley defeat avenged, the Barnet menace turned half-blind and just a sore and messy loser at the premature end of an unexpectedly gruesome contest with the medics quickly escorting a sobbing Natalie Gumede to the locker room. It makes no difference to the blonde winner as the accidental clash of heads gave Sarah Harding the deciding advantage which she was able to work on to the point her opponent just couldn't see all those vicious attacks and had to be saved by the referee from utter destruction.

"There was no luck involved, Olive", Sarah tells Olivia Godfrey after the fight, "I cut her up before the clash of heads and just wrecked her from there on. She was doing kinda alright at the start but I was never intimidated by her tactics. I know it looked weird but I was ready to make my moves whenever I wanted to. Accusing me of headbutting Natalie on purpose is ridiculous. But if she feels hard done by this result, I can surely give her a rematch. And then I will punch her other eye blind!"
