BEFORE: "I don't think a WHOLE lot of Lima," Palicki admits in prefight, "but when you're talking models, she's the feistiest. She's the girl who just doesn't care, you know? She puts her back into haymakers, and fights with commitment - that sets her apart from most models right there. I just don't think she can get me off my feet. She's got power, but it's not Palicki-busting power: I'll gobble up her best stuff and check her chin. We go shot-for-shot and I'll win every time!"

Lima fuming, all eyes a-flashing, but more because it's a good look for her than anything else. "Palicki will be beaten," Lima promises at podium. "No one who stands before Adriana Lima can survive. She is a stupid girl for saying what she has. Gobbling up my power is the same as losing!"

Adrianne getting the better of it - touching Lima's face a consistent, stiff poke, sidestepping her, letting her slug herself into bad positions.

R2: Lima's approach unchanged, but she lands early right hands to head, coaxing Palicki into earmuff. Lima reinforcing success - waling long-limbed wallops to Adrianne's flanks; pounding fists off Adrianne's back when Palicki leans too far forward. Palicki brave in the teeth of the storm, keeping her hands up, but she's absorbing shellack - Lima really spanking that right hand into toned American ribs.

R3: More Lima: she's pouring the leather to Palicki now. Adrianne covered up well, bending at the waist, trying to weave inside the arc of Lima's blows. Lima wrapping punches around Adrianne's head/shoulders as a result, but it's not slowing the Brazilian down: she'll drag Palicki out of position, reload and continue lashing. Adrianne strong in the pocket, not breaking down, but she's not answering either: Lima's small mitts digging PIK! PAK! into Pallicki's flesh, punishing the ribs, tearing up tummy through 3. Lima seething at bell, pushing Palicki for no good reason: ref moves in hot as tempers flare.

R4: Another minute of Lima whippin' mitts Palicki's way, but Adriana's starting to lose velocity. Pallicki able to re-orient offensively, get that back (right) heel up, get the jab pumpin'...American girl starts to pound jabs face-and-jugs to retake the initiative. Tasty, drilling stuff from Palicki - a rail-straight jab punishing Lima; straight right hands from the shoulder kicking back Lima's head, buckling her knees. Model takes several good clean hits...Lima showing pride not to go down as Pallicki finds the range through 4.

R5: Swinging right hand over Palicki's left smites her left eye...Adrianne baby-stepping to her right, wobbly-butt, in jeopardy.

Oh, the lashing.

Adriana going all-in to batter Palicki senseless. Brazilian girl belting wide right hand after wide right hand to Adrianne's leftside lats, beating the American along the ropes. Lima pushing her left jab to Palicki's tits, stacking Adrianne up against ropes, then looping righty at her head - kissing punches off brows and temple. Palicki sliding along ropes, stumbling forward around the ring...she's desperately hurt, but too proud to go down for Lima. Lima's most professional punch an exquisite swinging hook ticketed for Palicki's ribs: Adriana stepping in with it, sweeping the left around behind Palicki's right elbow - the small mitt biting in thick "PIK!" Bell: Palicki swaying on the spot, blinking away tears - ref has to push a seething Lima away as she's howling epithets in colourful Portuguese.

R6: Lima's spent: Palicki able to mount steady offensive pressure behind that telephone-pole left jab. Adrianne wary, not wanting to over-extend: she's just stepping in the poke, pivoting to her left, keeping Adriana out on the end of punches. Lima mouth-breathing, still feeling the effects of her maximum effort in the fifth...she offers back only token swings, easily read and blocked by disciplined Adrianne.

R7: Palicki builds on her 6th - affecting the same disciplined approach, but committing more power. Adrianne leaning into right hands now - face-punches kicking back Lima's head with loud cracking impacts. Beautiful model lumping up under an actress' vengeful hitting...Palicki pounding deliberately at Lima's face, attempting to mar the beauty. Lima growing shabby, eyes staring, guard wilting...Palicki pivoting smoothly clockwise, scoring heavily, systematically - never allowing herself to go berserk even as Lima's visibly crumbling. Gorgeous, grim stuff - left, left, RIGHT...left, left, left, RIGHT. Heartless efficiency from Palicki - she's got Lima busted up, wobbly-butt by the bell...Adrianne looking over the punishment like a painter applying the finishing touches to a masterpiece.

Trainer hugging Adrianne when she arrives back in port, telling her: "Best round you've ever fought, baby! Gimme more of that and we're home free!"

R8: Adrianne's left eye already semi-closed - she doesn't see the swinging overhand right that puts Lima in charge once again! Palicki baby-stepping to her right, cringing: once again Adriana Lima goes at her foe without pity. Palicki hurt, out on her feet, just face-in-gloves, stooping forward, trying to crowd-close and smother Lima's wallop. Adriana baring her teeth - hair wild in her eyes as she pours the lash to her foe - Brazilian using her left hand to push at Pallicki's right shoulder, maintaining distance for that belting right hand to land. Palicki's left flank glowing hot-pink under the constant touch of Lima: Adriana's small mitt digging in again and again, working armpit to tummy/hip as Lima bends her back into work. Bell: Lima sobbing for breath, mouth wide open, hands on hips; Palicki swooning, legs trembling, but making defiant eye contact with a girl who couldn't put her down.

R9: Another minute of Lima but the fury peters out: Pallicki taking over behind that ramrod jab, circling now to her right. Adrianne dreadfully patient, precise: she knocks that left fist against Lima's face again and again, softening her up, dazing her, measuring her for the drilling follow-on rights. Lima a mess - face tender and puffy, lashes batting as she stares into punches. Just target-practice...Palicki shelling away, extending on her punches: Lima dim, stunned, not blocking any of this. Brazilian beauty staggers into ropes, FINALLY covering up face-in-gloves, sagging rightside-first into ropes: Palicki closes, squares up, starts belting away to glory! Adrianne in wide stance, slugging at helpless Lima with tightly curled lefts and rights in horizontal plane, thumbside-up. Punches taking Lima in her back and tummy, beating apart her guard, getting at her face/left shoulder. Lima blubbering drowsily, too proud to quit or go down...ref finally cradles model to ropes, awarding the TKO9 to Adrianne Palicki.

After: Pal]licki wandering away hands-on-hips, bleak, even stunned expression in her eyes: she hadn't expected to be taken so deep by Adriana. "She doesn't fight like a model," Palicki admits in postfight, left eye shut tight due to Lima's hateful overhand rights. "No quit...keeps coming...shakes off hurt...I honestly didn't know what it would take to stop her. I thought my punches would move her more than they did, but she took 'em pretty well, I mean - that's a girl who wants to beat you more than she cares about losing. Dug it out of her, but whew: that was a tuff night in the office, guys."
