The Man In The Hat sits, as usual, at the center of the dais. To his left are Kristen Stewart, Kat Graham, Pink, Britney Spears, Mariska Hargitay, and Jewel. To his right sit Serinda Swan, Leelee Sobieski, Kat Dennings, Neve Campbell, Avril Lavigne, and Jane Levy.
Man In The Hat: "All right, as usual, before we get to questions, there are some people I want to thank. Let's start with the independent fighters who were featured on the card tonight. One of the things we try to do at Asylum is give unmanaged fighters who don't get a lot of opportunities a chance to showcase their talents, and we appreciate their efforts here tonight and on every Asylum card. I also want to thank The Academy. I've always wanted to say that..."
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat(smiling): "But, seriously, I want to thank The Academy for agreeing to let the great Cat Bell appear here tonight. And I'd like to thank Odds and Ends for their participation in the form of the lovely Adriana Lima. O&E will, by the way, be back next month. And, last but not least, to the FCBA Commission for sanctioning these events, as, without them, none of this would be possible. Now, questions. Cable Boy, go!"
HBO Reporter: "I've got to ask. Pink and Milano. Quick whistle? The announcers seemed to think so, and so did a lot of folks at ringside..."
Man In The Hat: "Cable Boy, I've said this before and I'll say it again, this stable does NOT second guess the decisions of referees. The referees are professionals, and they do their best. We may like a call and we may not like it, and that's our right. But, like Clint Hurdle says, 'Pirate ships don't have rear view mirrors.' We accept it, and we move on. And that's what we'll do tonight..."
HBO Reporter: "Are you thinking rematch?"
Pink: "I'll take that one. Yes. And as soon as possible."
Man In The Hat: "You heard the lady. Cable Boy II. Whatta you got?"
Showtime Reporter: "Your two flyweights both looked pretty good tonight..."
Man In The Hat(smiling): "Yes, they did. These are two talented young fighters. Ms. Stewart and Ms. Graham both have bright FCBA futures, and we're certainly glad they'll be plying their trade here at Front Street. We look forward to what 2014 will bring for both ladies. BLONDE! Magazine is here! Go ahead!"
BLONDE! Magazine Reporter: "I want to talk about Leelee. She looked very good tonight. What's next for her?"
Man In The Hat: "Leelee fought extremely well tonight, and that doesn't surprise me. She's one of the most complete welters in the world. She has power, sure, but she's not all slugging and trading. She can box. She moves her hands and feet well. She's athletic. She's an elite welter, so it shouldn't suprise anyone that she fought like one. As for what's next for her, again, I'm interested to see what 2014 brings. Tess, dear, go ahead..."
Tess: "At ringside, we thought this might have been the best performance of Kat Dennings' career..."
Man In The Hat: "Well, I've always said 75 percent of that announce crew is pretty smart..."
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat(smiling): "This was really good stuff from Kat. It wasn't just the best performance of her career, it was the most complete. And it gave you a really good preview of the kind of fighter she can be...the kind of fighter she's GOING to be. This is a big, tough, physical bantam who hits like a truck. She's a big part of the future of our bantamweight division. A BIG part. Smackeroo. I've been to that State We Don't Mention and back. We've had a great Asylum card. I'm hungry. Take us to dinner..."
Reporter: "The streak is over. Front Street won its first big fight since June..."
Man In The Hat(grinning): "Hey, that's right, we did, didn't we? I hadn't noticed!"
(Laughter)
Reporter: "How big was that win for Serinda?"
Man In The Hat: "Let me tell you how impressed I was with Swanny tonight. Lima's given this stable fits, as you know. This is also a girl who's a two-time Ice Hotel Queen, a girl who's given fights to elite-level lights like Nichols and Palicki. And Swanny went out there and beat this girl. She stood toe to toe with her. She got physical with her. She got hurt, but she rallied back. She knocked her down. And, in the last round, she took everything Lima had and finished on her feet. I could not BE more impressed. And, considering our lightweight division was pretty wide open going into tonight, I guess that answers your question. Let's eat. Tess, Smackey. Limo!" |
