TESS VALMORE

GRAHAM/ COMBS When Graham used her legs, moving in and out or circling, she dominated Combs. When she chose to stand flatfooted and slug, she didn’t do nearly as well. Combs managed to keep the fight close as Graham chose to duke it out in the third and fifth. After controlling the sixth, Graham hurt Combs with a right and followed up and followed up with pair of rights that had Combs helpless and the bout was stopped

STEWART/ McGOWAN Stewart wanted to stay outside and use that left jab. McGowan wanted to get close and work the body. Each did well when she got her way. Unfortunately for McGowan, Stewart got her way most of the fight. McGowan did make the fight interesting by decking Stewart in the third. Stewart paid McGowan back in the eighth. The bout was even and the end of seven, but then Stewart closed out the fight taking the last three rounds to get the decision

DENNINGS/ DOHERTY As opposed to her two stablemates in the first two fights, Dennings likes to work inside. Work inside she did. Doherty was competitive, just not competitive enough, as Dennings took round after round. Dennings took eight of the ten rounds and decked Doherty in the third. A delay in going to a neutral corner may have cost Dennings the knockout. Instead, she got a wide decision

PINK/ MILANO After Pink gave up the first round. she came out in the second and hammered Milano to the canvas. Milano was able to beat the count and Pink was unable to close out the fight. Milano survived to fight the third. Pink, however, did not survive to fight the fourth. Midway through the third, Milano caught Pink with right and followed up with a stream of punches and the referee mysteriously stopped the fight. The decision to stop the fight was highly controversial and did not set will with Front Street or the fans. Fair or not the stoppage was official and Milano walked away the winner

SOBIESKI/ C. BELL This was a big fight for Leelee and she came through with flying colors against the Hall Of Fame member. It was a hard hitting fight, but Bell would take only one round that the fight lasted. Sobieski hurt bell in the fourth and floored her in the fifth In the sixth Leelee unleashed a series of rights and lefts that split Bell’s gloves and her her wobbly at the ropes and the fight was stopped

SWAN/ LIMA. Turns out the best fight of the night was the last one. It sure wasn’t a ballet, it was a slugfest. After Lima tool the two opening rounds and Swan the third, the fourth set the tone for the rest of the fight Lima hurt Swan early and Swan put Lima on the canvas late. Lima hurt Swan in the fifth to take the round and the Swan put a hurt on Lima to win the sixth. Swan put Lima on the canvas in the seventh, but Lima was able to box her way in the eighth to make the fight close. The ninth was a disaster for Lima. She went down three times, but survived. Despite the punishment, Lima took the in the ninth, she came out for the final round and floored Swan. She then, hammered Swan almost at will. I was looking for the referee to stop the fight, but he let it go to the bell and Swan got the decision. A big win for Swan.
