Before: "I'm feeling my oats," Kelly grins in prefight. "I've beaten 3 women in a row to get here, and I really feel as though I'm finally getting traction in the FCBA. I'm ready for girls like Emily now - I know I'm fitter and prettier, and I'm just going to take it to her. She has that nice Beckinsale win, but other than that she doesn't have much FCBA cred. It's my time to shine, her turn to hurt. That's it."
Emily focussed, a little frosty...no animosity towards Kelly but no respect either. "It would be a huge letdown for me to lose to Kelly at this juncture," Emily explains. "There's no going back for me. I'm not laying Kate Beckinsale low, only to stumble against the likes of this blonde girl. I have to show my quality, and I will."
Kelly in white sport top; navy bikini bottoms with little white fighting belt; small white gloves; hair in curly tousle. Emily in lavender sport bra; dark purple bikini bottoms with little white fighting belt; small black gloves; shoulder-length blonde hair straight.
During R1: Emily organized, feet spread wide...she's issuing check-jabs while sliding back in her stance, then hook-and-pivoting clockwise to turn off the apron. Kelly forced to gamble up the middle...she's bobbing and weaving, trying to close distance, but getting touched up on approach. Latter part the round, Emily starts dropping in tasty right hands straight off the shoulder off all the left-hand technique: Kelly getting her pretty face punched back PAK! as she can't solve the puzzle through 1.
R2: Same deal from Emily - slide-stepping in her stance, dragging that front (left) foot, pinpointing Kelly a variety of accurate left jabs/hooks, pivoting clockwise 'round the latter. Midway through, Kelly lunging in/ducking down: Emily tracks the pounce, shooting a straight right down onto Kelly's chin...blonde girl reels away from the strike, staggering spellbound to ropes. Emily: cold-eyed; hopping forward in-stance, dukes up. She jabs Kelly's face a stiff poke; drills in a swift right hand chaser; turns her shoulder into a shopping left to face; trims Kelly's chin a slick right uppercut. Blonde girl staring, spilling to her left along ropes...Emily just so accurate, punching a dazed, bleak expression onto Carlson's beautiful face. Emily stepping-with, letting her hands go in disciplined, pinpoint combinations...raking left/right/left kisses across Kelly's face, twisting her to her left, dropping her to all fours, left flank bracing ropes. Emily chest-heaving, eyes bright, hops away to neutral corner. Poor Kelly destitute, head bowed...she reaches left hand into ropes to climb 'em, but her legs fail as she rises, turning her right 'round, plopping her to her buns with right side now bracing ropes. Kelly blubbering on the spot, all KO'd belowed the waist...Emily raises her fists as 10 count passes blonde girl by. KO2 Emily Blunt.
AFter: Carlson distraught - tough beat to absorb after her career-best run had Kelly dreaming of championships and glory. Emily all business as press groups close in the ring. "Job done, isn't it?" Emily breezes in postfight. "A life-and-death struggle with Kelly Carlson just simply wasn't acceptable to me. I took her apart as befits my class...this is a girl who was simply in over her head with me. I took the measure of her in the first round - just sorting her with my left hand, finding her with my right - then it was a matter of touching her to sleep. I'm pleased - the fight went exactly as we drew it up; I didn't suffer undue punishment; I expedited the woman's defeat...it's a strong result for me." |
