BEFORE: "I'm stronger," Karine says with quiet confidence in prefight. "Look at our bodies - our legs and arms: I'm built far sturdier than Emily. I have great respect for Emily's skills, but we have measured one another on set of Revenge, and I know she is worried."

Emily shrugging off the the notions of Vanasse physicality. "She's got a certain rugged curvature to her, but let's not kid ourselves," Emily says at podium, "her strength won't compensate for my speed and accuracy. I've seen her hit pads hard, but pads don't have footwork; pads aren't trying to trick you and put you off-balance. Karine's had a beating coming for some time - I'm just glad this is going to be public, so she can't blow a lot of smoke about mythical on-set 'sparring' sessions."

Emily in dark green bikini; small pink gloves; short pink boxing booties; blonde hair in loose curls. Karine in yellow bikini with twist-tied top; small black gloves; small black boxing booties; short dirty blonde fighting tousle.

During R1: New wide stance for Emily - planted feet: she's leaning in with the jab, then sliding back a smidge in stance, creating gaps with minimal effort. Vanasse pawing her jab, but eating Emily's poke stiff to pate...and when Karine penetrates, Emily's ready with a swatting counter-right/check hook, beating French-Canadian starlet to punches. Tactical stuff - neither lass hurt, but Emily dictating range and terms, turning Karine in clockwise loops for points.

R2: Similar tactics - Vanasse a bit better getting past Emily's jab, attacking blonde ribcage with gusto. Karine thumping away on Emily in spots - snappy, thudding lefts and rights rapping Vancamp's torso, forcing her to leg out of range. Especially effective for Karine: a carving right hand chopping in and down, taking Emily under her left breast - hacking blast causing blonde girl visible distress.

R3: Emily outclasses Karine midring. Wide, flat-footed stance – EVC leaning in the left jab - sometimes double-tapping it; shifting away in her stance - coaxing Karine forward; feeding Vanasse a slap-chopping right/quick left hook counter-combo, clouting Vanasse out of orbit. French girl dazed, stung - again and again she tries to penetrate, only to eat jabs to pate/combos to head. Touched up, Karine elects to withdraw/regroup: Emily stalks her with little hopping steps - touches her the jab – dipping torso-left and tucking a chopping left hook in under Karine's right elbow. Vanasse in high earmuff, trying to bob-and-weave her way forward: Emily masterful with jab-control, managing the pounce, then cleaning up when Karine runs out of forward momentum. Breathtaking stuff - Emily punishing Karine bell to bell - turning her around the ring, baiting her into traps - curvy French legs refuse to buckle, but Karine badly touched up, wobbly butt...it's 10-8 Emily without the knockdown.

R4: Vanasse committed to forward-pressure: she eats a chipping barrage of left hands, only to step into Emily's short left uppercut inside. French-girl's legs spasm - she sputters to her left, blinking in stupor: Emily pivoting to HER left, smirking at the hurt. Vancamp flowing forward with a raking one-two - face-pasting combo chases dazzled French girl to ropes - Vanasse sputtering. Emily hops forward
in wide stance, flashing the hot right cross up top; dipping and ripping a wicked left hook to ribs...poor Karine sags in ropes, spitting her mouthpiece out. Emily works Karine over classy - jabbing from the set wide stance; feeding Karine the straight right hand; hesitating on left (lead) leg to make the read, then either hooking Karine to body, or hooking chin. It's too much...Karine swooning, eyes glassy, guard loose, head lolling as Emily scores again and again - ref steps in to halt the slaughter TKO4 EVC.

After: Vancamp all flashing eyes, flared nostrils...she defends her turf in emphatic fashion, turning back one of the best fighters in Montreal in the process. "It's been tense on-set," Emily admits. "When Karine arrived, she was defiant from day one, and she was very up front about not accepting my authority. All you can do with girls like that is take 'em into the ring and whip 'em. This is really going to clear the air going forward, and hopefully the lesson I taught tonight will take!"
