This is an internal battle between couple of Garnet Gunners UK singers who have struggled for exposure in recent months. Diana Vickers is yet to win in six tries, having had the stuffing punched out of her by Keisha Buchanan on last year's Boxing Day PPV while Gabriella Cilmi's career got off to a promising start before a langhty lay off period saw her shockingly stopped by fellow Aussie Nicky Whelan on last month's International Card right here in Cardiff.

Denise van Outen reckons this is a career-defining moment for both of these 22 year olds who still have many boxing rounds ahead of them but a pattern is destined to be set especially if Diana loses for the seventh consecutive time. That's simply unacceptable at this level.

Round 1:
Neither girls shows much hesitance from the start and that's a welcomed change for Vickers who spikes the brunette with a nice overhand combo early, splits her mitts and bounces off the nose but Cilmi counters downstairs and whacks the blonde around the elbows, leans on her and keeps drilling the stomach to make Diana wince already. More punches punish the blonde's midriff thereafter as the low assault pays off for Cilmi; Vicker's arms go down to protect the exposed ribcage but she gets nailed with a vicious uppercut on the nose, another quick hook bounces off her temple and Diana trembles on her knees, covers up her face but Cilmi's all over her in close range, switches into more ribcage punishment and pounds her stablemate towards the ropes where she drills her navel into a screaming success, cracks another uppercut straight between the mitts and really gives Vickers no respite, snaps her head back with one more try just before the bell and Diana just stumbles into her stool having endured a very tough opening round once again in her lacklustre career.

Round 2:
Gabriella's eyes glow in anticipation of the second round as she begins to punish the blonde from the bell again; spikes her over the top to bounce off the cheeks and work on the fellow singer thereafter; heavy slaps crash off the ribcage before an uppercut combo splits Vickers' arms again, left hook on the nose bends a sorry looking girl to the side but Gabriella just pushes with the harrassement, belts away at the ribcage to stagger her foe in the middle of the ring before sending another uppercut on the nose... BLONDE GIRL DOWN... Diana slams the canvas with her backside; crumbles under the ammount of leather thrown at her but gives it a brave try against the fellow stablemate, beats the count at six and tries to tame the onslaught with a weak jabbing series that only grazes the brunette;'s chest. Cilmi with an immediate counter, pounds away at the ribcage to stagger Vickers again, pulverizes her navel with a low jabbing combo and sends the blonde backing into the ropes where Diana covers her face up initially but that's a challenge for the brunette who drops the midsection attack and starts to dismantle the high guard... THUMP... THUMP.. THUMP... Vicker's guard broken into pieces in the final minute; Gabriella ravages her cheeks and bounces off the nose on repeated basis as the beatdown continues with Diana getting mauled over on the ropes.. spiking hook on the liver area SENDS HER DOWN ON HER KNEES in the last twenty seconds, poor blonde wrecked on all fours and just staring at the ineviteable again... somehow beats the count at eight and that's a really long look from the referee as she glances over at the brunette who nods back to him indicating she wants to give Diana more trouble tonight. The blonde's gets dispatched into another flurry of leather and Cilmi cuts her up with a sliding cross-hooking combo, slams those yellow mitts right against the mouth and Diana's moaning her heart out at the bell having been brutalized in the second round even worse then in the first.

Round 3:
Vickers' a mental wreck and has nothing for Cilmi's repeated attacks which now only target the head; brunette bashes the blonde's cheeks into a swollen mess as Diana's arms can't stay high, head-snapping assault causes a nasty cut under the left eye to open up and the blonde doesn't even have the air in her lungs to moan that loud, Cilmi hammers away at the chest on the minute mark and sags her foe on the ropes, cracks a put away uppercut on the jaw... Vickers' eyes are gone but she still gets clobbered on the temple and COLLAPSES AT THE BRUNETTE'S FEET blubbering in semi-consciousness... KO3 Gabriella Cilmi in beatdown fashion!!!

AFTER: Whatever knowledge Diana had about the brunette it all proved worthless as the Aussie girl simply tore the blonde apart, brutalized her ever since the opening round and still seemed like she wasn't going all in before knocking her out cold. Whether it's because Gabriella's been too sympathetic or just Diana that woeful remains to be seen but Cilmi gives her stablemate a lift off the canvas and hugs her in consolling fashion. Unexpected behavior for someone who punched the other girl's face into a swollen mess but these two aren't that evil off the ring and allthough the ultimate pecking order has been set, Vickers tries to smile through all her cuts and shares a good chat with Gabriella as they leave the ring.

Denise van Outen is impressed by the brunette's pro stance though, internal stable bouts threaten to let someone off the hook and neither Cilmi or Vickers hate each other much but the way Gabriella worked the blonde over confirms the fact she went for the win and didn't hesitate to punish her stablemate and leave her nursing few shiners. The questionable matchmaking at the start of Cilmi's BBU career didn't earn her any favors but we didn't really find out what to make of her failure against Nicky Whelan as Diana just didn't provide a strong enough test tonight. Perhaps Una Healy coming off a massive upset loss to Liz McClarnon will be a better indicator?
