The Girls Aloud contingent is buzzing ringside even though Kmberley Walsh has been transported to the hospital as they await Nicola Roberts' long-anticipatedc clash with Lisa Maffia. Both these singers met in September of last year when Roberts caused a huge upset by taking a split decision over former bantamweight champion and the South Londoner still regards this as the worst defeat of her career.

But she'd be better off getting her revenge on Nicola before the redhead signed for the Lioness Club according to Denise van Outen as her destruction of Natasha Hamilton last month indicated she's found new confidence and is perhaps on course to revive her career which produced only five wins in fifteen bouts. "Nicola's always up for major upsets!", Cheryl Cole tells Denise before the fight and points out the redhead secured another shock success against regning champion Charlotte Church last year and it's about time she joined Sarah Harding and Chezza herself among the elite fighters on the band's roster.

Round 1:
The former champ blasts out of her stool and starts to unload head shots without any warning, obviously very keen to scare the redhead off early and prove that last year's result was a fluke, she snaps Nicola's head back instantly and keeps throwing straight jabs in close range as Roberts tries to respond over the top but is unable to handle the ferocity of Lisa's attacks, steps to the side in avoidance but still gets caught on the chin as Maffia just maintains the rout and looks to inflict some early damage already. Nicola's all covered up, swings wildly but only grazes the older girl's forearms and gets nailed on the nose with a furious jabbing combo instead. This is following a similar path to Kimberley Walsh and no wonder the Girls Aloud are on their feet yelling at the redhead who finally lands a late overhand on the nose to tame Lisa's charge, spikes her on the eye in the last thirty seconds and lands a nice uppercut to reel her opponent back; Maffia's angry but did more than enough to claim the round and if she keeps this intensity going, Nicola's new found confidence will be put under incredible scrutiny tonight!

Round 2:
Lisa charges from her stool again but Nicola's received a serious talking to by her coach Gina Wild and responds in similar fashion as both girls tangle in the middle of the ring. Maffia pummels on the chest and looks to clip the redhead on the chin but the all new & improved Nicola isn't so afraid of getting punched like in the previous years and holds her ground, lands an uppercut on the jaw herself and pours in with a jabbing series on the jugs, clips Maffia's windpipe and staggers her to the side, unloads another uppercut on the jaw that causes Lisa to moan and Nadine Coyle to clap her hands frantically ringside. Lisa refuses to let go of the heated exchange though, leans on the younger singer and rips into her tummy, sharp hooks make little impact as Roberts fires away across her mouth and blasts a right hook on the temple to wobble the ex-champ; Lisa covers up and reverts into some quick footwork.. not quick enough for Nicola's jabbing series around the elbows; redhead switches targets well and peppers the ribcage in the final minute, leans on the older girl even further and almost shoves her onto the ropes, blocks an uppercut response and whacks her on the ribs again to increase Maffia's moaning at the bell; she gives her bandmates a cheerful look during the interval and receives thumbs up all across the board.

Round 3:
Lisa tries to land more head shots at first but fails to match the redhead's footwork, gets spiked around the elbows again and Roberts reverts into the tactics that brought her success in the previous round. She freezes Maffia in the middle of the ring with menacing hooks around the liver area and sends uppercuts from close range to split the older girl's arms and tag her on the boobs. Lisa's furious jabs over the top only skim off the forearms, a big left hook nails her on the navel instead and staggers on the spot again as the redhead unloads midriff asault and reels a suddenly cumbersome looking ex-champ onto the ropes. Lisa covers up high but exposes the tummy, bad mistake from such an experienced fighter who gets clobbered on the ribs as Nicola's all about the midsection punishment and Maffia really looks past her pirme now as she remains trapped on the ropes for remainder of the round with Roberts turning her tummy in a mush. Redhead leans on her foe late in the going again, a sudden rout from the Girls Aloud proudest carrot, spiking series on the liver area sinks Maffia on her knees and she squeals in pain as Nicola just drills her on the side... loud scream with twenty seconds left... MAFFIA'S DOWN ON HER BACKSIDE as the liver harpoons proved to be too much to handle and Roberts yells out at her and looks like she wants more of this... Lisa's hurting and holds her liver area and quite frankly a less experienced and skilled fighter wouldn't have gotten up anytime soon but the ex-champ beats the count at eight, eyes look misty and it's threatening to be a really rough night for the veteran as Nicola sends more jabs on the wounded area; Maffia's last-ditch clinching effort saves her in the dying seconds and help to survive a terrible round but Roberts' buzzing during the interval and wants this to resume as quickly as possible.

Round 4:
Maffia just wants to bide some time now as she reverts into some fancy footwork with her arms dropped to the side but it's only sending the wrong message to Roberts who leaps after her back & forth trying to close down and dish out further punishment. Lisa looks a bit tired already, the 35 years and counting fires back at the veteran against the lively redhead on a revival mission. Methodical punches from Roberts who's well aware of her foe's fitness problems, almost teases Maffia into some suicidal attacks but it's not happening and the ammount of leather increases as time goes by with Nicola slamming them against the high guard, slices the mitts a couple of time and sags Lisa on the ropes again, switches downstairs and seeks another ribcage assault. Maffia just unable to live with this pace, drops her arms and tries to weave around and perhaps cause the redhead to lose her focus but gets nailed on the chin instead and bellows out into turtle-like defence; Roberts keeps those harpoons on the liver going, sinks an awfully cumbersome ex-champ on her knees and even the clinch attempt goes awry as Nicola screams out in anger and blasts a left/right combo between the arms to leave her opponent dizzy at the bell. An absolute nightmare for the Beevers' camp while Nadine Coyle leads the Aloud celebrations but Cheryl wants Nicola to finally relieve Maffia from her misery and quite frankly so does Denise van Outen in the booth.

Round 5:
Gloves just can't stay in tact for the former champ anymore as Nicola traps her in the middle of the ring and whacks a jabbing combo over the top, snaps the head back and Maffia's groans expose every single day of her 35 years on the planet; epic downfall looms large as Nicola ups the tempo and spins Lisa towards the ropes with another jabbing series, leaps at her before she can deke out from the striking range, clubbing left hook staggers Maffia on the spot and the arms go numb, one last squeal in the ring as Roberts slams a couple of uppercuts on the totally exposed chin TO SEND LISA CRASHING FACE-FIRST AT HER FEET! That will be that as the ex-champ makes no effort to get up and ref doesn't even bother with the count since Lisa is not moving at all here. So much for the Beever's range, it's KO5 Nicola Roberts instead!!

AFTER: No more the happy punchbag, Nicola gestures towards her bandmates and they pour in to congratulate the redhead on a classic destruction on once fearless Lisa Maffia who might have suffered a career-changing loss and one can only wonder if she recovers from this ever again? But her nightmare isn't quite over as Sarah Harding grabs her by the hair and lifts her head straight against Nicola's bum, the blue mini-skirt goes up and before the security crew can react, Lisa has her head planted against the redhead's derriere. She tries very hard to catch some air but Cheryl and Nadine grab her hands and put them behind her back as Sarah keeps pressing her lips against the redhead's bum. "C'mon. lick it, you filthy cow!", you don't mess with Sarah all that often and Lisa realizes she's in no state to battle the entire trio forcing her into a tongue exercise against the victorious redhead.. "slurp... slurp.. slurp..", the telling noise of Lisa working her tongue against Roberts' pale skin sends the cameramen crazy and that goes on for an entire minute before Maffia breaks down into tears and finally earns some respite from Harding: "Way to go, you filthy ass-licker! Don't make me pound your brains out next time cause I will do so if you ever badmouth the Girls again! Understand?" Lisa nods her head and gets shoved face-first on the canvas again with Sarah planting her foot against her back while Nicola, Cheryl and Nadine all join her in a bonus pose for the cameras.

Will Maffia challenge Harding to make up for this terrible experience? Denise van Outen thinks not and it may well be the last time we saw the ex-champion as a force to be reckoned with in BBU.
