We're back with the singers and Rachel Stevens has targeted Dannii Minogue for the Ashes already but was forced to yield ground after a high-profile rematch with Cheryl Cole got the nod. Dannii blasted Chezza into a smoking mess which earned nothing but a laught from the former S Club 7 brunette who labelled Cole's effort as a "waste of time and space". The ex Kear's Kats really don't seem to enjoy the Girls Aloud presence but just over two months after that encounter, Rachel gets her chance at AWUBA's super featherweight living legend in a fight that's touted as a real highlight.

Stevens hopes to repeat the Geri Halliwell upset from last year when Dannii was caught out by the former Spice Girl despite leading on the cards, her extended FCBA background speaks for itself even if victories were at premium. At 35 Rachel's no spring chicken but still fills out her black basque top with pride, red gloves are seemingly destined to be buried in Minogue's flesh.

Meanwhile Dannii has chosen a yellow bikini top and light blue microskirt plus ACB's approved green gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
No messing around with the Aussie who rips into Rachel's guts from the start, bashes away from both sides and staggers the younger brunette early, flicks a series of jabs on the head and tags the chin with Stevens wobbling to the side. Another quick follow up nails Rachel on the nose and forces her to cover up but there's no escape as Dannii lands more ribcage leather and reels her opponents towards the ropes where a subsequent midriff pounding follows. The fans in Manchester knew it was going to be tough for Stevens to give the Aussie singer a test but they never expected such dominance as Rachel's tummy endured a real hammering and the girl just bends forward, protects her face in vain but Danni just plays her own game and is satisfied with punching the tummy into a mush instead, Stevens gives her a wayward elbows towards the end of the round but she really had nothing on the older brunette and checks the state of her ribs already.

Round 2:
Rachel storms out of her stool much to the crowd's surprise and manages to catch Dannii on the chin; she follows up with a repeated striking on the ribs herself and ducks underneath a hooking combo on the temple, nails Minogue on the navel in a swift exchange and beats her for an overhand hook on the eye... Minogue wobbles on the spot and opens her eyes really wide as Stevens cracks a left hook on the nose AND SENDS THE AUSSIE FLAT ON HER BACKSIDE... hige upset in Manchester as the AWUBA legend has to rise from the canvas and that's really at premium even given her age... Stevens looks on, utterly shocked herself but hopefully she hasn't awaken the demon here... Danni wipes some invisible sweat off her mouth and suddenly realizes her left eye begins to swell, a result of that previous overhand... she yells out in anger and rips straight into Stevens... but the younger brunette jumps back at the very last second, ducks underneath a flying hammer and counters from the side, buries couple of hook around the liver area and shoves Dannii to the ropes, tags her chin in a sudden rage of fury as she leans on the Aussie and starts to clean out her stomach before the bell halts her charge and now everyone inside the Arena's surprised as Minogue looks to be in some discomfort.

Round 3:
Rachel smells wounded prey, goes all-in and whacks Dannii on the guard but can't slice it once the Aussie settles into her position, no immediate response from the older brunette who uses all her experience to weather the storm and Stevens' effort remains largely fruitless as she whacks the gloves and fails to inflict more damage, now it's her turn to yell out in frustration and she has to settle into a methodical dance around the ropes as Minogue holds her back in mid-range and prevents any counte attack. The tempo slows down for good but it plays into the Aussie's hand as she survives the post-knockdown trouble and allthough Rachel manages to graze her on the chin with a late push, there's no significant damage in the proccess.

Round 4:
Minogue's eye keeps swelling and she's clearly annoyed with that, Stevens manages to land more ribcage shots in the initial tangle but becomes too concerned by the flying hooks and settles into another mid-range singe hand exchange, gives the Aussie more respite and that gets coach Gail Kim on her feet, Stevens more agile on her feet down the stretch, picks off the wounded opponent with more single hands but allthough it's good enough for the judges, it doesn't really punish Dannii who leaps into a sudden jabbing combo in the dying seconds and has Rachel tripping over her own feet in avoidance.

Round 5:
Rachel wasted enough time to put her opponent away and leaps into a furious charge again.. but so does Dannii and both women tangle in the middle of the ring trading heavy leather over the top... Stevens snaps the head back first but gets caught with a right hook on the nose and loses her balance... Dannii pours in with more leather, jabs on the chin and slices the mitts apart, drives Stevens onto the ropes where she switches low and cracks a series on the navel, bends the younger brunette forward before firing away at her jaw one more time, Rachel gets spun against the turnbuckle as she tries to escape but there's another flying hook coming and this time it catches her on the nose causing instant bleeding... eyes wide open for the English girl as Dannii follows up with a right hand on the temple and SENDS STEVENS CRASHING AGAINST THE TURNBUCKLE... heavy knockdown for the local brunette who lands on all fours and has trouble getting up... she's up at eight but bleeds heavily from the squahed nostrils and ref signals for the medics. A much needed respite which only annoys Minogue even further... still a minute left on the clock and Dannii pours in with immediate punishment; Stevens tries to run for it but there's no escape and as she bounces off the ropes, a couple of flying hooks stagger her in opposite direction, Minogue with more facial assault, throws jabs against the nose and finds success as Rachel's guard offers no protection, a heavy left uppercut sags her down on the knees and another right hand nails her on the temple SENDING DOWN FOR THE SECOND TIME... Rachel's on all fours again, beats the count at eight, another deja vu but the bell can't save her as Dannii jumps into another furious attack with twenty seconds left and pounds away at Rachel's face as the arms go numb and drop to the side... head-snapping back & forth follows with blood all over those green mitts and STEVENS' COLLAPSES UNCONSCIOUS with just ten seconds left on the clock, the Aussie brunette claims another impressive scalp in KO5 Dannii Minogue!!!

AFTER: Rachel had her chance in the second round to cause a real upset and claim the bragging rights over Cheryl Cole for the rest of her life but fumbled it and met a really messy end in the fifth. Dannii Minogue remains a real thorn in BBU's stars side and one must think even Jade Ewen doesn't fancy a crack at the veteran in wake of her own upset defeat at the Ashes. Is there anyone capable of claiming the brunette's scalp next year? Geri Halliwell did it once but refuses to give Minogue a rematch and there's no imminient interest from the current BBU flyweight champ Mikie Hara as well since Dannii lost her straps to Penny Higgs last year. She secures another brutal victory flor the time being even though the swelling around her eye indicates how close Rachel Stevens was to causing the upset of the night. What a waste!
