Two big blondes are ready to duke it out next, with Catherine seeking to recover from the beating Delta Goodrem gave her in the Ashes matchup, and juicy Gemma desperately keen to get a win on the board after a disappointing 2013, and she’s told Catherine she’ll bust the jaw that Delta dislocated.

Catherine’s first into the ring, wearing a pink basque with black knickers, pink gloves and black boots, and she’s soon face to face with Gemma in her scarlet bikini, with white gloves and boots – and boy are these girls well endowed!

Round 1

The girls are circling, snapping off jabs at each other, neither of them seeming to want to make the first move just yet, but Gemma goes for Catherine’s body, takes a couple of good shots to the face, and she backs off, Catherine not following up. Instead, she’s backed up to the ropes, and it’s Gemma on the attack, whipping another good shot into Catherine’s ribs, and she aims her right at the older girl’s face – but Catherine’s ready for her, and she gives Gemma another sharp one-two, the taller girl backing away, with Catherine staying back again. The round is drawing to a close, and Gemma’s still chasing Catherine, but still taking punches as she fails to land anything meaningful, with Catherine picking Gemma off again in a smart attack, sending Gemma to her corner looking a little dazed.

Round 2

Now the girls trade for the first time, and it’s Catherine landing the better punches, stepping back as the Corrie babe thuds a good right hook into her mouth, Gemma having to hold on to stay upright after that punch. The referee parts these two big girls with difficulty – and Gemma unloads a great pair of hooks in Catherine’s face almost before she’s ready, the girl’s knees starting to buckle as she drifts into her own corner, where Gemma hits her to the ribs with two good right hands, but Catherine avoids Gemma’s lunging left hook to the face, slips aside and turns the girl, pokes her head back with a left jab, right jab, left jab, and puts Gemma down with a god right hook, the girl doing her best to clear her head as she gets to her feet on 7, and she’s managing to protect herself ok right through the remaining seconds to the bell, but her left cheek is looking a little swollen as she sits down.

Round 3

After taking the first two rounds with solid counter-punching, Catherine is starting to take the initiative now, and she picks Gemma off straight away, gives her a left hook to the jaw, followed by a right hook to the cheek, and Gemma’s wobbling, gets smacked hard in the mouth again – but, once she’s got herself trapped on the corner she fights back! Gemma’s giving Catherine plenty now, swinging big, looping hooks in at the older girl’s face, sending her briskly backwards across the ring, crouching and covering up. and now Gemma smacks Catherine’s head up with a sharp little right uppercut, and Catherine’s pleased to be able to clinch and hold, even though Gemma still whips her left hook into her abdomen. The referee parts the girls, and Gemma reacts quickly, left hooking Catherine to the body again, and whistling a right uppercut past her nose, narrowly missing the girl’s face, and this time it’s Catherine who’s glad to hear the bell.

Round 4

The girls are trading big shots now, and Catherine lands a great right hook on Gemma’s cheek, follows up to the body – but takes a couple of firm shots to her own body, the trade finishing with Gemma giving Catherine a swift one-two, shaking her up with a short-arm uppercut, before sending her to the ropes with a pair of solid left hooks to the mouth. Catherine’s been hurt, and she’s being hurt some more as Gemma tucks into her body, and unleashes the uppercut again, Catherine’s head flying backwards, Gemma standing back to watch her drop to the canvas. Catherine is on her feet at 6 – if Gemma had taken the chance to hit her again before she went down, she could surely have finished her off there, but as it is, the fight continues, with Catherine defending herself better than before, getting thumped in the mouth again, but this time fighting back, the round ending with a shocked Gemma on the ropes, covering her face as Catherine probes for an opening with her left and right jabs.

Round 5

Both girls are looking bruised now, but it’s Catherine making the more aggressive start to the round, and she rocks Gemma with her right hook in the first exchange, Gemma having to clinch to get herself together again. The referee parts the girls, Gemma sneakily whipping a left hook into Catherine’s mouth on the break, splitting her lip, and this earns her a sharp combination of three punches to her own face, a right hook again landing on her swollen cheek to teach her a little lesson, quickly followed by two solid blows to her body, and again Gemma seeks to hold, but takes a good left on her way and she’s looking fairly groggy as she grips Catherine, leaning onto her until the referee pulls her back. The girls resume, and it’s Catherine in the driving seat again, battering Gemma backwards, although Gemma responds well, hitting Catherine to the body in the final seconds of the round, stinging her with a left hook to the side of her head before the close.

Round 6

Catherine looks a tad more tired now, and that punch she took late in the fifth, and she’s beginning to take some more punishment now in the sixth, as Gemma gives her a left hook, followed by a right, and she’s got Catherine on the ropes, hurt and uncomfortable, lands a goog left hook now, almost putting her girl down – but she misses with her right as she tries to follow up, and she gets totally suckerpunched as Catherine stuns her with a straight left, crunches her right hook in again, and that’s enough to put Gemma on the floor, the girl struggling up at 8, but she’s been taken by surprise there, and she doesn’t defend herself too well as Catherine begins to lay into her with both her left and her right, and Gemma’s getting very wobbly now, stumbling to the ropes, face getting badly battered, her nose starting to dribble blood. The round draws to a close, but the struggle continues for Gemma Atkinson, who’s left eye is virtually closed now, her bravery taking her through to the bell.

Round 7

The Lookout corner has worked hard on their girl, but her eye is presenting a massive purple target for Catherine to batter, and she’s showing Gemma no mercy as she pushes the younger blonde across the ring and has her just about stationary in a neutral corner, where she’s giving her a right now a left, now another right – down goes Gemma again, and this time it’s all over, because she stays down for the referee’s count.

Result: Catherine Tyldesley knocked Gemma Atkinson out in round 7

That fight seems to suggest that the beating she took from Delta Goodrem has left no lasting mental scar on Catherine, who handed Gemma yet another bad defeat, and that’s left the busty Gemma sobbing on her stool, with flyweight pal Gemma Merna trying to console her.
