Before: It sounds so simple: Kiana's a little robotic, likes to set down and launch into right hand missiles, so you box, pick her apart and maybe even take her out late as Tom's chin is there to be taken. Hu with the wheels and class to make it happen, but Kiana will be one punch away from winning all night long, and Kelly's had lapses in previous fights that could be fatal against this champion. Red athletic bra style bikini for Kelly, slick ponytail - Black twist tie sports top for Kiana, red boycut trunks.

During R1: Tom out aggressively, left hand low, right hand at her chest - Hu showing the Mayweather look - left shoulder pointed at Tom, right fist at her cheek, left hand low, always leaning away and slipping to make Kiana reach. Hu turns the tide at the midway point, drawing Tom's right hand, leaning away from it, then drilling her right hand counter to the champ's left eye. Kelly never looks back, slinking around a suddenly wobbly butt Tom, stepping to the right, drilling right hands, then recoiling back into that difficult defensive look that has Kiana reaching. Round to Hu.

R2: Kelly still thinking move, counter - in that order, and it's working. Tom walking her girl down, but only scraping Hu with reaching one twos - Kelly leaning and slipping very effectively. Single potshotting right hands and backhand lefts off the hip come back from Kelly as she circles, makes Kiana change directions - Hu's balance and footwork far superior to the slugging Hawaiian. Round to Hu - Kiana's left eye starting to puff up as she shakes her head in frustration at the bell.

R3: Shutout Kelly Hu. She's putting it all together now with an increasingly demoralized Kiana Tom starting to take chances. Hu patient, timing Tom's crushing rights and victimizing the champ with nimble counter rights and a variety of jab/hook looks from that snaking left. Tom's punches continue to skid off the offered shoulder or miss altogether as Hu leans, slips away from danger, then drills her responses. Down the stretch, playful backhand jab to the chest sets up smack/smack left-rights that leave Kiana staring at the bell.

R4: Shutout Kelly Hu. Same paint job - Hu catching Tom overextending, swiping her up with biting combinations, then getting out of dodge as Kiana catches. Swatting loose lefts and rights from her hips, Kelly beats Kiana's breasts raw, and pounding single lead right hands bash back the exotic champion's pretty head with sickening regularity. After 4 one-sided rounds - Tom's eyes are swollen, chest is taking a beating - Hu staying poised, just breaking Kiana down minute by minute.

R5: Shutout Kiana Tom. Tough body shots from the lanky Hearns style left hook convince Hu that Kiana's still got some life - Hu shamelessly takes to her heels as Tom walks her down without further incident. Restless crowd eager to boo - but Kelly unrepentant, clearly wants to take Kiana deeper, relies on her big lead to run the clock.

R6: Hu sticking to her plans, bouncing, dipping and flat out running as Kiana tries in vain to cut down the ring. Kiana clearly the aggressor, posts another shutout, but can't land anything substantial on the elusive challenger. Spat of words exchanged at the bell as Tom chides Kelly amidst lusty booing - Kelly refusing to be intimidated gets plenty of support from her corner. She's doing just what they want through 6 tactical rounds.

R7: Shutout Kiana Tom. Kelly picking up few scorching hooks on her ribs and tummy, but its still a track meet for Hu. Tom dropping her hands, urging Hu to fight, but Kelly won't have it - ducking and dodging, putting her hand on the top rope to lurch in the opposite direction. Kiana getting back into the fight as Kelly gives away rounds, but Hu's people aren't concerned, telling Hu: "you got her baby - step it up now."

R8: Hu steps it up: Kiana just as easy to hit as before and Hu pounds face with spearing lead rights, fall away left hooks as she darts in and out on Tom. Kiana lumping up, flinching - Hu's punches are hurting her and Kiana's standing in for 3 and 4 punch licks that have the champ looking disabled. Hu's icy calm disconcerting - she struts back to her corner expressionless as Tom stumbles back to her corner a little busted up, confused.

R9: Masterful boxing from Hu as she leans away from Kiana's right, rolling with the punch and blistering Tom's face with heartless right hand counters all throughout the first minute. Kiana can't take the pulverizing blows over and over and by the midway point she's drifting. Hu putting the left hook on top starts to batter Tom with flush combinations to the face - Kiana's hands useless at her stomach as she stumbles forward into shellacking punishment. Hu stepping to her right, dazzles Tom with a drilling series of pinpoint right hands to jugs and jaw - Kiana staggering face first into the ropes as Hu sidesteps her. All Kelly Hu to the bell as she swamps Kiana along the ropes, swatting and clouting with catspaw lefts and rights, easily stepping back from the few pushing receipts that come her way. Hu pumped at the bell, pumps her fists and yells at the now delirious crowd as Tom blunders to her corner in ruins.

R10: Kiana Tom not champ by accident - hurt and outboxed, she storms over and lays into Kelly with long one-twos - Hu brilliantly turning her body and twisting away from the worst of it, but Tom works her to the ropes. Hu with her left shoulder towards Kiana puts on a textbook clinic on fighting off the ropes, dipping down, bouncing into the ropes, then chopping back at Kiana with quickstrike rights and lefts - elbows in tight, everything short and sweet. Tom refusing to back off, takes over in the final minute, landing the first sustained punches of the fight as she makes Hu trade at the bell. Furious Asian action spills into overtime - ref splits up the bitter duo, keeps them separate for the announcement. Comes back UD10 for the winner and NEW BANTAM CHAMPION: Kelly Hu!

After: Stunned and beaten - Kiana stares in disbelief at the verdict as Kelly raises her fists in triumph to strut the ring. Beautiful job of boxing done by Hu on the stronger brunette, minimizing Tom's power, shining her up, discouraging her with brilliant hit and run tactics. Controversial decision to run throughout the middle rounds turns out to be very effective in extending the bout, Hu turning herself into the Canvas Fox in order to maneuver Tom into perplexing defeat. Kiana labelling Hu's performance a 'disgrace' but one look at Tom's pummelled face enough to quiet the critics.
