Once again, we preface the ranking with our ninety day rule. We will not let a fighter retain a ranking by not fighting. If she is ranked, she must fight or challenge within 90 days or third PPV after her last fight, whichever is longer. That amounts to 4 fights a year, which should not be a problem for a manager looking to have a top ten member in his or her stable. Plenty of opportunities exist. There are the PPVs. Lookout does PPVs. There are the Asylum PPVs run by The Wiz. I recall IFFI and OddMan doing cards as well as BAD bouts. Also of note. We don’t rank a champion under the theory that the champion is quite often not the best fighter in the division. We have numerous examples of that over the years. We also consider the quality of opposition faced.

1. YVONNE STRAHOVSKI Not long ago I said she was over-rated. I had to eat a whole lot of crow. She has won six of her last seven, including two recent title defenses over Lawrence and Winstead

2 JENNIFER LAWRENCE She’s won five of her last seven. After losing a title fight to Strahovski, she bounced back with an win over Menounos

3 TAYLOR COLE Cole is on an impressive three fight win streak. She hasn’t fought since November, but she did issue a challenge in January that was not accepted

4 MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD. Is four of her last five. Her only loss was to Strahovski in the last PPV. She still holds a series lead over the champ

5 ADRIANNE PALICKI Palicki is 3-2 in her last five fights against strong opponents. One of her losses was to the welterweight Righetti. She last fought in November but issued a challenge in February that was not accepted

6 RACHEL NICHOLS Has won four of her last six, She successfully defended her Ice Queen title in February

7 TRICIA HELFER. I forgot her in the last rankings. She six of eight and held the title in 2012. She last fought in December. She needs to challenge or fight in the next PPV or she will dropped

8 ANNA TORV. Has won five of her last six, Among her victims were Wagner, Joanne Kelly, Larter and in the last PPV, Theron

9 GEMMA ARTERTON She’s won five of her last six with impressive wins over Lima, Lively and Theron. She hasn’t fought since December which means she must fight or challenge by the next PPV.

10 KALEY CUOCO Drops to ten after losing four of her last seven including a TKO loss to Lima in the Last PPV

WHO DROPPED OUT?

ERICE DURANCE. Yes she has won six straight, but she last fought in November and didn’t fight or challenge since. She is being dropped because of the ninety day rule. This is not the first time she has been dropped for inactivity. She has not been active since 2011 (meaning four fights a year)

MISSY PEREGRYM I hate to do this but Missy has lost four of her last seven and her last three

THE WELTERWEIGHTS

Now we come to our problem child, The Welters. Because of our ninety day rule we have great difficulty in coming up with a meaningful top ten. Over half the stables in the FCBA do not have a welter. The number of managed true welters is 20. Of those 20, three have not fought in two or more years, One has fought one fight in two years, another one fight in three years and a third one fight in the last year. That leaves 14 active welters. Independent fighters, who are mainly older, seldom get challenged as there is no favorable risk/ reward aspect. We will not fill out a top ten with fighters who do not deserve that distinction just to have a top ten

1 AMANDA RIGHETTI. She had a seven fight win streak broken in her TKO loss to Cassidy Freeman in the last PPV. She is no longer champion, but I think she remains the 600 pound gorilla of the welters

2 CASSIDY FREEMAN We admit she is one of our favorites and have suggested for some time that she was under-rated. She is 6-3-1 in the last two years fighting nothing but the best.

3 KATRINA LAW Right on her heels of Freeman comes Law. Law has won five of her last seven although several of her wins were over lightweights. She beat Freeman in her last bout of 2013 and beat Moore in the last PPV. Freeman has accomplished one achievement Law hasn’t. She has beaten Righetti

4 TAYLOR COLE. Our number three lightweight is also our number four welter. She hasn’t fought since November but did challenge Righetti in January. The challenge was not accepted

5 MOON BLOODGOOD. She is 3-3 in the recent past. Her losses were to Theron, Freeman and Righetti. No shame there. Her last win was over Nolin in January. She did not challenge in February

BRIDGET REGAN Once one of the two rulers of this division has lost five of her last seven including a huge upset at the hands of Estella Warren in the last PPV

MANDY MOORE She has lost her last four. She she fought top talent but you don’t stay static. You move ahead or you move down. In her case it’s down

CHARLIZE THERON Lost three of her last five including two to lightweights. Her horrendous loss to Torv was her ticket out of the rankings

GINA LEE NOLIN Was a victim of inactivity in the last rankings

BROOKLYN DECKER. She has won eight of her last ten but her opposition has not been in the tough class. When she fights an A lister she chokes, that accounts for her two losses

KATY PERRY She is 6-3 in her last nine. She did upset Upton but losses to the likes of Kurylenko, Paltrow and Brook are not inspiring

NADIA BJORLIN Hasn’t fought in a year

CATHERINE BELL Was 4-4 last year, but two wins were against over the hill opponents and she has lost her last three
