Before: Intriguing title bout between two wildly contrasting types. Williams a rugged, compact inside fighter, loves to work her opponents to death on volume - Ledoyen a lanky limbed slugger blessed with devastating slinging power in both mitts, has been known to end fights in a heartbeat. Jury still out on Virginie - important test for her not just for a title, but should answer naysayers if she can hang with Mish and feature well. Wet curls, black leather bra style bikini for Ledoyen - Mish in red push up and panties, white lace trim.

R1: Anyone see R1 of Vargas/Trinidad? Ledoyen with a nice little fade, catches Mish a little overanxious - Williams coming up short from too far out and she is NAILED a licking left hook counter on the face. Mish sputtering away, hands at her temples, face pinched in stunned pain - beating is on as Ledoyen strides in to finish. First minute an absolute massacre - Williams busted open and battered along the ropes as Ledoyen gives it to her with both mitts, just swinging away, shifting weight from one foot to the other, getting her long limbs and hips into the action. Middle minute, Williams seems to collect herself, bobbing her head ala Frazier, making Ledoyen miss - hurting blonde seems like she might make it out of the first. Down the stretch, Ledoyen catches Mish another clouting hook square in the face, rocking the little blonde back several steps on her heels - gut check in the final moments as Ledoyen loads up on right hands, measuring Mish with the left, then slinging over the top - over and over again as Williams sags helpless against the ropes. Bell sounds - Virginie happy to keep pounding away until the ref separates them - Mish a horrifying wreck as she is helped to her corner for some 'salts. 10-8 without a knockdown for Ledoyen.

R2: Williams easing her way back into the fight - much more cautious, moving her head, making sure she is ALL the way inside before opening up. Mish getting things done fighting off Ledoyen's chest - Virginie taking body shots well, but not able to do anything to discourage them except clinch. Even, hard working round until late, when Mish bobs in and catches a lashing left uppercut across her face - Williams wobbly butt and defenceless again - Ledoyen capitalizing with those crashing right hands on the eye, spilling Mish up against the ropes and busting her wide open again with heartless bombs to the face. Mish out on her feet - face already Gatti-ing up badly - ref asking Williams corner if she's had enough during the break.

R3: Mish hurt, cut, but stubborn, keeps trying to make her plan work. Bobbing, crossing her arms, she takes the odd swishing punch to get in, but once on top of Ledoyen it's a different fight. Mish bodying up, riding an arm around Virginie's waist to slug with the free mitt, bogging the taller girl down in stumbling, gritty trench warfare. Ledoyen not much on the inside, and not much moving backwards - Williams on the board.

R4: OH LEDOYEN! Virginie lights Mish up AGAIN with that slashing, rising left hook/uppercut, spanking Williams across the face, leaving her momentarily helpless as her knees lock up stiff. Virginie just LAYING into Mish with everything once the blonde is hurt, battering Williams to the ropes, then pouring in the lanky lefts and rights to the face. Williams with her hands at her stomach, eyes dim, just soaking up punches as ringsiders scream for a stoppage. Ref keeping a close eye - Ledoyen just lathering Mish up in a bell to bell beating for the ages. Williams wanders to LEDOYEN'S corner at the break - Virginie's trainer takes the opportunity to whipsnap a towel against William's belly as the ref intervenes.

R5: Mish shaking off ringside physicians and her own corner - this is turning into a dangerous display of heart for the blonde. Once again, Williams able to muscle her way inside, body up on Ledoyen and walk her into the ropes - good steady shove and slug from Mish - Virginie starting to gloss up along the ribs as she gets worked over this round.

R6: Another vicious power punch to open the round from Ledoyen, this time the looping right hand that catches Mish on the ear and sends her face first into a corner. Williams dazed, props her butt on the turnbuckle and leans forward, covering up pathetically and taking another horrendous beating as Ledoyen just helps herself. Virginie clearly arm weary at the bell - her punches have lost a lot of steam just on account of William's refusal to go down under the HAIL of leather she's taken. Virginie with a look of frank awe as Williams staggers back to her corner intent on continuing.

R7: Mish grinding it out, wrestling Ledoyen into the ropes, tumbling with the lanky french girl into the corners, snatching at Virginie's body while keeping the brunette close. Ledoyen chugging away with arm punches downstairs - fists smacking sharp against Williams' belly and breasts, but unable to back the blonde off this round.

R8: Mish slugging dangerously from midrange, but she's shaking off Ledoyen's strokes at this point. Virginie mouth breathing, landing clean, but unable to budge Mish - Williams lets a golden opportunity pass by following the brunette around the ring and not punching more herself.

R9: Mish piling on, riding Ledoyen into the corners and giving it to her in the belly until Virginie can clinch, referee issues the break. Rhythm becomes Mish just bodying up, bulling Virginie into a corner, slugging furiously until the clinch, and break. Ledoyen obviously exhausted - she can't keep Williams off her, and she doesn't have the legs to run. Williams a battered mess, but she finishes the round stronger - lifting a mitt at the bell and urging the raucous crowd to cheer.

R10: Williams puts her forehead on Virginie Ledoyen's chest and just. Starts. Pumping! Virginie sagging into the ropes, helpless as Mish bashes her way past the French girl's thin arms, cudgels the bony rib cage, clouts the full lips with non-stop chugging action and LEDOYEN GOES DOWN! Crowd in hysterics as Virginie sinks to all fours - badly used up - Mish is shoved back by the ref as Ledoyen climbs the corner ropes to get to her feet. Mish pouncing after the 8, ramming Ledoyen back into the turnbuckles and furiously going at her. Now it's Virginie helpless and alone - taking a savage beating - unable to defend herself as Williams fists crash into the flat tummy and swivel that pretty head. Ledoyen limp, rocking forward, sinking back as the punches pile up when a flush, curling right hand spanks across her face to suck the life out of the French girl. Virginie just standing in the corner, left shoulder leaning against the ropes - she seems out, but the bell sounds - ref tackles the berserk blonde away as Ledoyen stands in stupor. Comes back a DRAW! Both women too exhausted to react as the crowd can't stand it!

After: Williams beaten beyond recognition, leaves the arena for the nearest emergency ward. Ledoyen badly dehydrated and battered herself occupies the adjoining bed after an unbelievable back and forth slugfest. Williams pulling out the draw in the last round, had Ledoyen out on her feet, but just couldn't get the French girl to quit. Similar story for Ledoyen - Virginie just weighing anchor in Williams' face but couldn't get the blonde to go.
