This has got to be the toughest challenge Tania Zaetta has faced in a long time. She bravely stood up to Poppy Mo last time in but was never a real chance. Now she faces Erin McNaught.

Although Erin is winless at al attempts in the ACB and BBU, she boasts that record no other can, having only lost one from seven fights against Jen Hawkins. She has 12 years on Tania.

Round 1

McNaught standing tall, gloves at her faced, taking an early pounding from Zaetta. A classic case of old bull on young bull. Tania’s stiff arm jabs thwacking at Erin’s ribs, then one two at the ribs and a flick of the jab to the face. She’s quick for an old girl and has Erin bamboozled during the early stages. McNaught try on the back foot, lowering the guard to cover her flanks and trying to time her jabs in reply. Gets caught a couple of hard shots on the chin, guard up again then takes a further beating to the ribs. She’s lost all footwork stuck on the side rope, Tania lights her up with a flurry of body shots and a SWEET UPPERCUT that takes all her chin, MCNAUGHT ROCKED! Tania just swinging in large hooks at any opening now, McNaught wearing the gloved helmet, body being sliced in half, stumbling left then right, trying to twist into the shots, mouth agape and eyes wincing in pain. The bell rings and it’s all smiles from Zaetta as she watches Erin gingerly walk to the opposite corner.

Round 2

Tania doesn’t muck about, straight on top again, almost beats McNaught out of her own corner. Erin slipping sideways but takes a ROUNDHOUSE RIGHT HOOK to the rib cage which stops her in her tracks. McNaught in trouble, taking an assault to her mid section, KNEES GONE! The younger girl taking a beating at the ropes and DOWN GOES MCNAUGHT, seeking to her knees, arms folded at belly. Tania in complete shock as she whirls away pumping the air with her right fist. Erin slowly to her knees, sucking in some big ones and is on her feet at 8. Resets her feet with a little shimmy, coming in with her head angled, chin to right shoulder looking through a squinted left eye, left glove up and her right across her below. Cautiously slides in. Zaetta comes straight forward but walks into a stiff left jab, the first punch to land for McNaught. Tania ducks the follow up jab and slings that right hook towards the body but misses and takes a WHIPPING RIGHT HOOK to the cheek and DOWN GOES ZAETTA! Massive turnaround as Tania is walloped by that shot. Very slow to her feet and stumbles sideways as the bell ends the round. Zaetta clueless as to which corner is hers.

Round 3

Erin senses Tania is still rattled by that knockdown but cautiously approachs her, fires off a couple of those left jabs, that whack against the guard. Zaetta tries the early approach, with stiff arm jabs at the body. She’s too slow, McNaught catching her on the nose with a left jab, Tania blinking, slides backwards and takes another HARD RIGHT JAB on the nose. Erin stepping forward, swipes a left at into Tania’s ribs, sliding under a jab and connecting with a left hook to her opposite flank. Tania taking a lot of shots now, back against the ropes, eye’s wide and breathing heavy. Erin right in close, digs two SOLID UPPERCUTS into her bread basket as Zaetta leans forward. McNaught picks up the chin with not one but two JAW BREAKING UPPERCUTS, LIGHTS OUT ZAETTA! A blistering left hook across the cheek and DOWN GOES ZAETTA! The ref doesn’t even start the count and it is all over. Erin McNaught destroys her by KO3.

It is really sad to see the result of this fight after Tania got off to such a solid start. She was in a commanding position and a fleeting moment, that loss of concentration and the fight turned. Still she has shown something there and perhaps she might get a fight or two from this. McNaught was lucky, and she still has a lot to prove but it is a maiden victory.
