Before: "I want the shutout," says a determined Kate in prefight. "I feel I let down against Megan and I know I'm sharper than I showed. I need to show this girl my quality and make her understand that she doesn't belong in the same ring as me. Every minute of every round - I want to be touching Hilary Duff and breaking her spirit." Duff eyeing slender Katie throughout and voicing her doubts at the podium. "Kate can't hold me off," Duff predicts. "She's slick and crafty - but Megan got to her, and I will too. It's a matter of hurting these quick girls. Once I hurt a girl, I know I can finish her - Bosworth's in for a shock!" Hilary in black bikini, sporty-cut bottoms, hair up in beach bun, small black workout gloves. Kate in midnight blue bikini, sporty cut bottoms, small white work out gloves, frisky punching ponytail.

During R1: Kate pretties Hilary up thus: Pinging lead right hand to face - half-step back - second pinging straight right - half-step back; hook as Hillary's barging in, cuffing Duff's jaw - pivot left around it; pinging right straight on the mouth - half step back; pinging straight right sloped down into breadbasket; hook out of the crouch while pivoting left. Duff facing into all of it - little pinprick pokes and swats, but a classier display of sharpshooting you'll never see. Kate continues in that vain, touching HIllary up as promised, bell to bell.

R2: Similar stuff from Bos, but she sets down on some first minute hooks that really tug at Duff's chin, wobbling Hilary's buttocks. Duff able to shake it off, come forward again - but she's clearly wary of getting off, keeping her dukes temple-high. Final minute sees Hillary score clubbing hooks to Katie's chin and breast - Bosworth quick to dart away, spritzing jabs on the go.

R3: Hilary getting a little more comfortable - realizes she's going to have to eat punches to get off, seems willing to do so. Bosworth continuing to fight brilliantly in reverse - little half-steps back and sudden pivots making distance judgement a nightmare for walk-in HIlary. Kate's fists tapping and quick - darting lead rights; clipping hooks; shaving right uppercuts off the right foot - all prefaced by the chipping jab. Duff snorting, stomping, pawing her left hand to measure, then leaning into lusty rights. Not a lot of Duff connects, but she's landing with heft, forcing taller girl to bound back out of range. Third straight round for Kate - she's beaming en route to her corner. Duff a little scuffed up, but weathering Kate's punches well.

R4: Katie pinging away - those elastic, straight right hand leads, often doubled or tripled to crowd-pleasing effect. Skidding, chipping jabs scraping away at Hilary's hairline or mouth; sudden, tart hooks clapping on Duff's jaw as Katie's quick-pivoting left around her lead (left) foot. AND BOSWORTH GOES DOWN! Crowd stunned - Duff just turning, ducking, taking a pasting, suddenly releases a blunt right hand, finds Kate's chin, drops slender blonde to her left knee in absolute shock. Kate up at 8, shaking her head: Duff grinning, bouncing in neutral corner, then STORMING across the ring. HEALTHY hammer and tongs - li'l Hilary squaring away and POUNDING at Kate - short, clubbing side to side swings - nothing fancy, but thudding good work - blows bashing off Bosworth's button-breasts, skull, shoulders. Bos gritting her teeth, right under her chin, left at her waist - she's dipping and rolling, taking the edge off and answering back her vicious hook to Hilary's pale gut. Bell - Hillary still in there clobbering - ref has to push overanxious slugger back as Katie straightens, windblown.

R5: Kate boxing smart - puncturing Duff's defenses and sliding/pivoting away from trouble - but blonde clearly under increasing pressure as Hillary continues to march through damage. Hilary taking 3 and 4 tapping, chipping, scuffing blows to bury one beefy one in Katie's ribs - Bosworth frowning, loping around, changing directions and keeping tempo as high as she can and still be an organized professional fighter.

R6: Hilary lands that blunt, short right again - deceptive punch catches Bosworth leaning away, nearly sitting her down as she reels to ropes. Duff on the pounce - grinning as she pounds a series of whaling right hands sidearm into Kate's stomach: Bosworth momentarily stunned, stoops forward, absorbing body blows as crowd roars. Kate with a nice little left uppercut/pivot-left routine spins off the ropes - she's spitting straight rights, left uppercuts as she slide-steps backwards, walking Hilary onto punches. Duff wades into it, chewing on leather, then hammers a right roundhouse to Kate's ribs, chasing Bosworth to ropes. More two-way slugging as HIlary bashes away/Katie nibbles, then spins off to lure Hillary forward again. Pinging sharpshooting starting to bust Hiily up some beneath her eyes, but Duff grinning ear to ear, pouring it on up the middle, takes another round from classy Kate through 6.

R7: MORE Duff points - Kate looking a little frazzled - doing a lot of running this round. Hilary's feet uneducated - she's not cutting off the ring much - but Bosworth so clearly avoiding contact that Duff's clearly the aggressor in judges eyes. Hilary doing her scoring in spots - anytime Bosworth retreats to ropes and defends the pocket. Fierce exchanges see Kate trade biting licks for Duff's clubbing haymakers until Bosworth can make Hilly miss, then spin off the ropes to open up the canvas.

R8: Similar stuff - Katie looking a little hinky - memories of Megan Fox embroiling her in grinding attrition clearly haunting sleek blonde. Bosworth snarling as she gets off her pokes and swipes - scoring on Duff's face, but rarely impeding her. Hillary able to collapse distance, get to Kate's chest and beat her with short, snappy side to side slugging - not much lands clean to Bosworth's head, but her slender ribcage is humming with punishment. Kate minimizing contact, but her corner tells her during the break: "Baby - you gotta put some hand on this girl. Go out there and give me this round clean, ok? Don't let her get off on you."

R9: Kate's eyes narrowed with concentration - she's standing her ground a little more, choosing to engage with leverage, especially on the hook. It's working - Kate penetrating with the springy lead right, then shifting weight to back (right) foot while pulling the hook across hard: Duff being hit hard enough to spoil her own punches. Wonderful toe-to-toe brawling in spots - Both girls moving heads well - throwing constant leather - gloves nicking and skidding off scalps, cheeks. Kate able to get the better of it: she's landing cleaner, cleverly pivoting to her right while pushing her left forearm on Duff to keep kid off balance.

R10: Kate closes the show - finally regaining ring-supremacy after spirited Duff mid rounds. All the face punching starting to finally slow Hillary - she's earmuffing up, not so anxious to brave the incoming, not closing distance so recklessly. Bosworth able to work with rhythm now, slowing her footwork to allow those clever pivots and slide-steps back, keeping Duff out on the end of punches. Pinging tic-tac-toe played upon Hilary's face and skull - Bosworth touching, escaping the receipts, circling and vexing bell to bell. Comes back UD10, Kate Bosworth.

After: Duff beaten, and puffy - but doing surprisingly well against one of the classiest little vixens in boxing. Hilary's footwork needs vast improvement - but the kid can punch at the weight, closes fearlessly, and works when she's in range - all things to build on.
