Before: Kreuk coming in shrouded in controversy - Pearl Harbour attack on Carter's leg one of the most heinous acts in recent FCBA history - gamine brunette could use a good professional showing to wipe the slate clean. "Claire and I have history," Kreuk admits, "but it's generally clean, hardnosed history. I've done very well against her in the past and I know how to beat her. I don't see things getting out of hand when I get the W." Danes emerging unscathed from recent bloodletting at HISC - Claire knows a win here puts her in good with biscuit-munching paymasters. "Just win," smiles Danes at the podium. "That's the plan. I know I'm the better fighter - I'm just going to go out there and act like it. Krissy's unpredictable and stronger than she looks - but she's not Claire Danes unpredictable or strong. I fight my fight and Kreuk goes away shabby." Kris in black lace push up, scarlet panties, black shoes (no socks), small black work out gloves; hair in low, sleek ponytail. Claire in black/white two piece: bra style top; boy cut bottoms; top is white/black, bottoms are black/white; two toned boxing shoes to midcalf are white/black, so top to bottom is a pleasing checkerboard pattern. Right mitt a small black workout glove; left mitt white.
During R1,2: Kris the aggressor - Claire channelling, turning and managing the heat. Kreuk looks to pounce: Danes dabs either fist against Krissy's forehead, neatly stalling her. Pretty blonde sidesteps and pivots - Kreuk often stumbling forward, punching at air as willow-the-wisp Claire's not there. Danes distributing punishment evenly across the length and breadth of her foe - touching all things Krissy with pokes, swats, digs, swipes - nothing too heavy, but generally firm, scoring contact. Frustrating rounds for Kreuk - she's steaming forward, getting off, just not getting paid as Claire takes breezy points.

R3: Claire gets serious to Kristin's body. Kreuk still coming forward - Danes easing her left shoulder into brunette to slow Kris down, then drifting back outside - but not before lapping right/left against the waist; pivoting away from receipt. Stack, lick, turn - stack, lick, turn - Krissy bamboozled as she's coming forward, never able to get off herself. Down the stretch, Danes pivoting/slipping punches, answers back a wonderful little right uppercut, taking Krissy very hard under her chin. While brunette's sputtering, Danes pivots right, drops a choppy right hand on jaw; dips like she's getting ready to pivot out of there, then drops the sneaky SECOND right hand, hard to chin. Kreuk's knees give a shimmy - frazzled look in her eyes as Claire gets to Kris in the third.

R4: Claire pivoting around her left (front) foot while lashing lanky left hooks to Krissy's tummy - Danes smiling, loose - some might say complacent as she racks up the score. Midway through - snarling Kris loops a desperation right hand - catching Claire across her brow as she's executing pivot-left: Danes momentarily off balance, immediately covers up earmuff. Kreuk over to offence - pouncing quickly into position up the middle: ratatat combination to Claire's feisty midsection sprinkles hot leather onto taut tummy. Clinches from Claire - she's hurt, mouth open - just needs to get out of the round to regroup.

R5: Claire pivoting left around her left plant leg - licks a gorgeous left uppercut under Krissy's chin; gets a swatting hook as she's shifting weight to back (right) leg; walks Krissy into a straight right bingo onna mouth to put Kreuk wobbly butt early. Pair of stout, cranking left hooks take Krissy in her stomach "PIK!" "PAK!" as she's stooped forward, grimacing behind her mitts. Claire wheels away breezy, content to score and move. Danes potshotting from outside - rotating to her right, feinting, then dropping hesitation right hands; pivoting left around a variety of licking hooks, uppercuts, and spicy, chipping jabs. Kreuk busting up, a little forlorn: she's coming forward - and THAT feels good - getting touched up by Claire not so good.

R6,7: Claire in command of the ring, pivoting and turning, managing her distance beautifully. Danes' mastery interrupted at points by sudden spurts of violence from Kris - good step-and-punch pursuit from the brunette as she tries to solve the problem with volume. Claire's feet the difference - blonde able to dictate terms for the most part - Danes always has her balance, always doing what she wants and making Krissy react. Kreuk forward the whole time - getting nickle-and-dimed to the body, swatted and poked about the head - little brunette proving game, but just can't break Claire's form down through 7.

R8: Spirited two way fare - most punches thrown of the fight as Kreuk shortens up stroke, steps-with and blazes away. Claire finally unable to manage it - getting tapped and tagged as she's pivoting or pulling back: Kreuk finally forcing blonde to punch off the wrong foot, or brawl toe to toe where Krissy's handspeed can be a factor. Brunette able to get to blonde chest and tidy up in combinations: Claire unhurt, but clearly outworked and harried as Kreuk has her way.

R9: More Kreuk effective aggression. Krissy's cutting off the ring, spitting out straight rights and lefts to make contact, then sitting down on hard left hooks to body when Claire's forced to cover up. Danes on her heels - still doing a good job of turning Kris at the ropes: Claire hasn't had her back to the strands all night. Glorious Kreuk 9th ruined down the stretch as Claire's slide-stepping back, slipping shots, then answering a vicious right uppercut off the right foot, punching the mouthpiece off Krissy's teeth. KREUK GOES DOWN! Krissy stumbling to all fours, punching miserably at canvas as Danes struts away. Claire steals a promising Kreuk round, pretty much salts away a decision.

R10: Claire's got Kris right where she wants her. Kris has no choice but to bring battle hot up the middle, trying to force the issue: Danes swivel-pivoting 'round her left leg, guiding Krissy past, touching her at will as brunette pours forward. Claire pushing Kris in her back on sidesteps, getting behind the brunette, guiding the brunette face first to ropes: it's humiliating for Kreuk - she's scowling, angry and frustrated as she regroups - but that just makes Claire more effective. Danes easy-breezy to the finish line - giving Kris a classy whitewashing. At the bell - Danes swats Krissy's damp ponytail in passing, just to let her know. UD10 Claire Danes.

After: Sound, safety-first thrashing of a pretty brunette: Claire the sorceress weaves her magic, has Kreuk spellbound much of the night. Kris fuming, stalking around hands on hips, "She ran!" Kreuk bleats in postfight, pretty face puffy. "How can they give her the decision when she runs all night?" Danes delighted when told of Kristin's furious comments: "It's called boxing," Claire chuckles, "hit and don't be hit? She should try it some time. Look at her face - I was SO there tonight."
