BEFORE: Pushing, general grumpiness as girls don't enjoy one another's company close-up. "It's an important positioning fight," Mandy admits in pre-fight. "We're both kind of in that space where we really can't afford another set-back right now. I know Nolin's been bytchy about Taylor getting a title shot, so she wants to impress against me, and I want to remind people that I'm still better than Gena. With Cassidy taking down Amanda, I mean...new girls are coming on-scene now and pushing the rest of us down. If you've been around for a while like me and Gena, you're feeling the pressure. We want to keep up, and that means one of us has to go down."

Nolin furious in rebuttal, fixating on one particular line: "What do you mean you're 'still better than Gena'? Still? STILL? Baby, you've NEVER been better than Gena Lee! Are you kidding me? Tell me you haven't been thinking this way your whole career. Like, when you go and get your ass handed to you, tell me you're not thinking 'at least I'm still better than Gena Lee.' I KNOW you don't believe you're better than me. Because if you DO believe that? Your whole WORLD'S about to come crashing down! Believe THAT!"

Gena in baby blue bikini; white gloves; long blonde hair in soft beach curls. Mandy in dark purple bikini; hot pink gloves; black hair up in scrappy beach bun. When asked to 'touch 'em up', Gena pounds her hands down atop Mandy's to get 'em out of the way, then goes jug with a hot-swatting left/right. Fight delayed as tempers flare - ref struggling to get fighters back into their starting gates.

During R1: Gena workmanlike: flat-footed, wide stance; stiff jab doubling up from her shoulder, getting her close; short right hand; short left hand off the front (left) leg. Mandy much the same: dukes up; stiff left jab lead...as she leans in, she gets off short, stout, clubbing rights and lefts. Gena head-hunting, beating Mandy about her head and shoulders: Mandy distributing the odd hook to Gena's breadbasket/ribs, investing in blonde legs for the long haul. Close, hard-working fare for two minutes, then Gena breaks through with a clean right hand to chin, turning Mandy's face aside and buckling her knees! Moore hurt, reaching to clinch around Gena's neck/shoulders...blonde lowers head, pumps tummy/trunks hup-hup-hup slugging Mandy into ropes via walking barrage. Gena shoving raggedy-Mandy off; cleaning up trunks with a FLAGRANT low left hook, then pounds away rights and lefts as Moore slumps in cables, covering her head and getting battered at bell.

R2: Crafty Mandy Moore...brunette plays jab-and-grab to perfection, slowing fight to a crawl. Mostly big-bodies snuggled up tight as Mandy pulls Gena into clinches, tying up around blonde head and left arm for breaks. Nolin catching a little face-spank, then getting smothered...she's not doing much to work in the clinch, just walking around with Mandy, trying to be stronger, letting the ref sort things out.

R3: Gena with a great bait-and-switch right hand through to Mandy's chin...big brunette's steppin' in fence-post holes early! Nolin immediately bodying her girl to ropes, making sure of Mandy's trunks with a pair of batting left hooks, then pushing Moore upright to finish! MANDY BANGS BACK! Moore refusing to crumble in the face of Gena's sharp practice downstairs...brunette slugging her way forward with shoulders hunched, just muscling short lefts and rights onto Gena out of a walking barrage. Midring it's GENA tying up - blonde clearly amazed that Moore didn't just fold up and quit...Mandy brawny in the pocket, bodying Gena around, punching her right hands to body until ref's breaks.

R3: Oh that crafty Mandy Moore. Jab-and-grab from Moore bogs Gena down once again - blonde catching hot-poke to face, then tied up as Moore crowds close. Round mostly girls just walking each other about in the clinch - Nolin content to wait for ref's breaks rather than attempting to slug her way out.

R4: Mandy jabbin' and grabbin' - really getting on Gena's nerves here. Nolin grumpy in the clinch - warned for throwing her left shoulder into Mandy's mouth; warned for being rough with her head...Nolin barking back at ref to do something about the holding. Mandy just doing her thing - after ref's breaks she tucks her chin, stalks forward, chips her poke to Gena's face, then gloms on - getting a body on blonde and walking Nolin around. Method to Mandy's madness - she's getting Gena used to the soggy pace, getting Gena used to being held in close, waiting for the rhythm of ref's breaks...down the stretch, Mandy breaks pattern. Ref's break sorts women out, but Moore quick-pouncing back in, catching Gena a BLAZING right hand to chin! BLONDE GIRL DOWN! Nolin just cold-cocked, hands still down after the break...it's basically hitting-on-the-break, except Mandy judging her timing so exquisitely that it's juuust legal. Nolin rickety, trying to sit up/roll over her right hip/stand...she beats the count, but she's a shipwrecked vixen, blonde hair in glassy eyes, lips parted. Ref deems zombie-Gena fit to continue, waving Mandy on in: brunette marches on her blonde all blazing eyes, snarling lips. OH, the beatdown. Gena sagging on ropes, head bowed, hands at temples. Mandy squared up and throwing - her chest forward, thumbside-up rights and lefts rolling onto Gena's head and shoulders. Moore just POURING it on...brunette baring her fangs, slamming away artlessly...blonde girl battered in the pocket, wilting, drooping and THE REF STEPS IN! Gena slumping deadweight in the man's arms - Mandy emotional, shrieking at Gena over the ref's shoulder...TKO4 Mandy Moore in crafty fashion.

After: Moore lulling Gena, then shocking her - it's a classic Mandy Moore ambush in the open. "She had to pay for those low-blows," Mandy says, still frowning at the memory of Gena's blatant rule interpretations. "That's the rule with Gena - if you don't answer her, she'll stay on your trunks all night. I put my body on her, made her take weight...Gena's not as strong as me inside and I think the clinches wore her down. It's a great win for me - I've got my eye on Cassidy and Amanda and hopefully they're noticing that I take care of my business as well. I'm also very aware of Ali Landry, I mean, if she's starting to lose a step, I can move against her as well. Mandy Moore's still a force at welterweight guys - I've got my eyes on the prize, and nobody better sleep on me!"
