BEFORE:

"We all know Ruah's reputation," says Liv with a smile. "She's very good, but things tend to get lodged in her throat at the wrong time...you know, like when the pressure is on. Well, there's going to be plenty of pressure on Dani tonight."

"Tyler's big and strong, and she can hit," says Daniela with a nod. "Well, we're about to find out who can hit harder. And I don't think Liv's going to like the answer."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside and that's 'Walk This Way' booming over the sound system, and that can only mean that the lovely Liv Tyler is back at the Asylum..."

McCarthy: "Tyler a typical Dancing Hooker opponent. Her last win came in 2002!"

Tess: "To be fair, she's only had a handful of fights since, and she DID take Sobieski nine rounds her last time out..."

O'Dell: "Liv into the ring, helped off with the robe to reveal a black bikini that shows off an in-shape body..."

McCarthy: "Fortunately, she doesn't look like her dad, who gives a prune a run for its money in the wrinkle department..."

Cassie: "Says the Crypt-Keeper..."

McCarthy: "SHUT IT, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Aaaaannnddddd that's 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica, and here comes 'The Portuguese Princess', Daniela Ruah!"

Tess: "This is a pretty big fight for Ruah tonight when you think about the positioning of the Front Street bigs. She's sixth at light and fourth out of five at welter, she's not far ahead of Kesha in either division after Big K's fight against Loken, and she lost both of her elevation fights last year, including, as her management calls it, 'coming from ahead to lose' against Lawrence. It would probably be a good idea for her to win this one."

O'Dell: "Dani into the ring. Helped off with the robe to reveal that baby blue number she usually wears. And, the ladies are about ready. Let's get some picks. Tess favors Dani. Mac?"

McCarthy: "On the strength of her taking one of Front Street's two REAL fighters nine rounds, I'm going to pick Tyler in an upset."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

McCarthy: "Of COURSE you do."

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Ruah right to work with that heavy straight left..."

McCarthy: "Go ahead. Get it out of the way..."

Tess: "The Front Street Jab..."

O'Dell: "Dani very rangy. Her build has been compared to Cat Bell's. She loves the gun platform stuff, and she's making that work for her now."

Cassie: "Ruah, with all that length, has reach on more than a few of her opponents, but not on Liv, who's plenty long herself."

O'Dell: "That's not bothering Dani at the moment, however. She's ranging in with the left, using the right to follow. Tyler short and late on almost everything..."

Tess: "Pretty visible rust issue for Tyler, Mac..."

McCarthy: "And, it's obvious why. She hasn't been in an FCBA ring since the last time she was here against Sobieski, and that was 27 months ago. And, her most recent fight before THAT was 2008!"

O'Dell: "Into the last 30 seconds of the first round, and it's easy, breezy stuff for Dani Ru, beating Tyler to punches, landing a high percentage with both hands. Final ticks off the clock, and there's the bell. First blood to Ruah."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Second round begins with Ruah again the boss, using that long, heavy straight left to set up everything else. Tyler unable to get off, spending too much time covering up and backing up."

McCarthy: "Seeing more rust, and that's one of the major issues for indie fighters, getting any kind of consistent work. Tyler's career is a prime example of that. Fought six times in 2001 and won half. Split a pair in 2002, then didn't get a single fight the next year. Came back in '04 with four fights. Lost all four and that was it. She's had two fights since. In ten years. You can't succeed that way..."

Cassie: "Wow. Mac CAN use the tablet HBO gives her for something besides an expensive coaster..."

McCarthy: "It can also be used to pound over the head of a smarmy little flyweight in a pinch..."

O'Dell: "Now, calm down, Mac. I hear tonight's emergency movie is 'H.O.T.S. II: This Time We're Cougars'..."

McCarthy: "They did a sequel to 'H.O.T.S.'? Those girls have to be a HUNDRED by now..."

Cassie: "Siri, call Mac's agent and find out why SHE didn't get a part in a movie about cougars..."

McCarthy: "I am NOT...you LITTLE..."

O'Dell: "A-HEM! Let's concentrate on the RING, where Ruah is continuing to call the tune, just like she did in the last round. She is, however, landing with more power in this stanza."

Tess: "Definitely. She's backing Liv up with some of those good right hands. Liv not hurt, but she's definitely taking heavy leather.

O'Dell: "Tyler hanging in there, trying to counter, but short and late most of the time, can't find the range or the rhythm. Into the final seconds now, and there's the bell. Shutout round for Ruah."

Tess: "Who now holds a 20-18 lead after two."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins with more long range stuff from Daniela. Tyler getting more aggressive now, though, looking to close and bang some..."

McCarthy: "Good idea for Liv. She's taking a risk, but she has to do something. Can't stay outside and fight a surface duel, because she's coming out second best."

O'Dell: "Ruah using more movement now, making good use of the legs to get the distance and angles she wants. Tyler continues to look to close, using her own left jab to move behind, but Ruah too slick, doing an excellent job of maintaining the geometry she wants."

Cassie: "Some of the rust is flaking off for Liv, Jenny. She's not landing as much as she'd like, but she's scoring more in this round than she did in the first two."

O'Dell: "Definitely, but it's still Ruah in control. Dani moves very well and you're seeing that now. Add that movement to the jab, which always seems to be in Liv's face, and Dani is making life very difficult for the lovely Ms. Tyler as we head down the stretch in round three. Liv a big right hand that falls short. Ruah steps left, lands a right hand, and there's the bell. Through three, Dani Ru pitching the shutout."

Tess: "30-27, a nice early lead for Ruah."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins with even more forward pressure from Tyler. Liv working behind the left, thumping body with the right as she advances. Ruah again to the legs, wants to keep that distance and get back to the boxer/puncher stuff she's been doing to this point..."

Cassie: "I'm with Mac on liking the tactical change by Liv. She's a rangy girl with power just like Dani, and she's comfortable with a ranged battle, but that seems like a losing option here, so she's trying something else."

O'Dell: "And it's more effective than trying to beat Ruah at her own game was. Tyler scoring more effectively than at any point in the fight via the forward pressure. No panic in Ruah, who continues to use movement to counter Liv's advances, but Tyler's found some terms she likes."

McCarthy: "And I like the idea of investing in body here. Liv weighed in around 140 for this one. No doubt she's a full welter. A girl her size can definitely take an opponent's legs with some solid body work."

O'Dell: "No question Tyler's concentrating on the body in this round, though she's not neglecting the upstairs, either. Ruah, meanwhile, still scoring with both hands, but, as we head into the final seconds, Tyler's pressure is allowing Liv to get the better of things for the first time. There's the bell ending the fourth."

Tess: "And Tyler's on the board. 39-37 Ruah."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with more pressure and crowding from Tyler, and now Ruah banging back in kind. No tactical stuff from Dani now, as she stands in front of Liv and returns fire."

McCarthy: "Tyler's going to take this all day long. Again, she's a big, 140 pound welter. She's not afraid to trade."

O'Dell: "And neither is Ruah, who's giving as good as she gets here, ripping hard hooks to the body, then working back upstairs. Tyler digging tummy on Dani, WHACKING a solid right to the side of the head. A lot of leather banging home right now..."

Cassie: "And neither girl backing away or slowing down. This is all about Liv trying to build on last round and Ruah trying to blunt the offensive before it breaks through the second line of trenches."

O'Dell: "Liv banging ham-fisted stuff to the ribs and lats, Ruah responding with short body hooks of her own. Both have to be feeling it, but neither willing to break off the engagement. They're firing all the guns and bringing up more ammunition as we head into the last 30 seconds. Tyler grimly determined to move Dani back, but Ruah holding canvas, not taking a backward step. There's the bell. An excellent two way round. Close, but Ruah."

Tess: "And that gives Daniela her three-point lead back. 49-46 at the halfway point."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "Sixth round underway and Tyler again looking to close and bang, but Ruah picking her up on the outside now, landing the left, slowing down the offensive, then thumping to the body as Liv closes."

McCarthy: "Tyler still getting where she wants to be, but Ruah making her pay a price to get there."

O'Dell: "And both girls pay a price when she does, as the two-way thumping commences anew. Tyler looking to wear Dani down to the body, while Ruah sends her own shell admidships, reddening the porcelain skin of Liv."

Cassie: "Neither girl able to land anything huge, but both are sending plenty of leather home in tight."

O'Dell: "But it's all Dani after they get tied up and break. Tyler having to work hard and eat punches to get back to where she wants to be. And those are adding up on the scorecard. Heading down the stretch, Ruah lands a solid combination. Liv hooks the body in response and Ruah a nice right hand to bring things to an end. Dani's round, ladies."

Tess: "And she's grabbed firm control of the fight now. 59-55 with four to go."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "Seventh round of action with Ruah back to the gun platform attack from the outside. Liv continuing to try to pressure, but Dani back to movement, using the legs, picking up Tyler on the way in, bogging down her offensive, then sliding away to regain the distance she wants."

Cassie: "Ruah's conditioning becoming a factor here. Tyler's not slowing a lot, but she has slowed some, as you'd expect for a welter at this point, but not Ruah. Still the same spring in the legs and the same work rate we saw in the first."

O'Dell: "Liv effective in spots. When she can get in close, she's able to land heavy shot, but Ruah not allowing much of that, keeping Tyler at glove range, where Dani constantly pre-empts her with suppressive fire."

McCarthy: "Ruah not really hurting Tyler. She's the aggressor, scoring plenty, but she's staying safe out there. Maybe she learned something from Lawrence."

O'Dell: "Dani in a nice rhythm now, snapping that left hand out, stopping Liv in her tracks with it. At times she doubles and triples, at others it's a crisp right hand that follows, sometimes at the front edge of a nice flurry. Liv taking it all and continuing to pressure right to the bell. All Ruah in that round, no question."

Tess: "And the lead is now 69-64, five points with just three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Into the eighth now, and Ruah right back to work. She's found the range now and is lasering in on Liv. Tyler continuing to try to close, but Dani not having any, stopping her cold with ranged weaponry."

Cassie: "You can see why Front Street is so high on Daniela when she fights like this. Very skilled. Very accurate. Lots of power..."

O'Dell: "AND DOWN GOES TYLER! Right on cue, Ruah lands a straight right hand that sends Liv to her knees!"

McCarthy: "Set that up with a double-tap left..."

O'Dell: "Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. And Tyler to her feet at eight. Referee gives her the mandatory and he'll let it continue. Ruah right after her, driving Liv backward with a flurry of heavy shell. Tyler backed into the ropes and Ruah hammering away with both hands..."

Tess: "Dani not all in here. Not taking chances, but definitely piling on."

O'Dell: "In a BIG way. Referee looking closely. Liv jabbing back, doing enough to keep him at bay, but Ruah landing some hard shots right to the bell. Tyler survives, but Ruah does plenty of damage, and not just on the scorecard."

Cassie: "79-72 with two to go. If Dani finishes this on her feet, she's getting her hand raised."

ROUND NINE:

O'Dell: "We begin the ninth with Ruah looking to finish. Dani using that big left to back up Tyler while she loads up on the right. Liv giving ground. Seems to have the legs back, though, and she's countering pretty well...AND DOWN SHE GOES!"

McCarthy: "Overhand right off a left hook to the body!"

O'Dell: "Tyler spilled to her right side. Rolls to her belly at three. Four. Five. Six..."

Cassie: "She's pushing to her hands and knees..."

O'Dell: "Eight. Nine...Liv to her feet. Barely beats the count. Referee gives her the mandatory and here comes Ruah. Daniella hammering away, sending Liv reeling back toward the ropes...BIG RIGHT HAND, RUAH! Tyler staggers, stays up, takes another big right...AND THAT'S IT! Referee has seen enough! He bundles Liv to safety! And your winner by TKO9, 'The Portuguese Princess', Daniela Ruah!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Daniela Ruah, and, Dani, big win for you..."

Daniela: "Its been said before, Tess, but light and welter are very competitive divisions at Front Street. You lose a fight, you can fall behind a lot of girls. You have to take care of your business around here or you'll find yourself on the bottom...and that's not where I plan to be."
