TROIAN BELLISARIO VS CANDICE ACCOLA
(Writing: Archer / Results: Lookout!)

Before: Rematch between two fiercely competitive young fighters. Troi leads their series 2-1, but Candi still seething over the one-point decision in their March bout that put the PLP fighter ahead.
“Those judges were blind!” Candice complains. “I had Bellisario beat down and if I hadn’t run out of time I’d have won by a KO. That’s not going to happen this time!”

Troian sniffs when her turn at the podium comes: “That’s right, Candi, blame the judges. Yes, she was working me over pretty good at the end of that fight, but I was tough enough to stray on my feet. Still, it was too close for comfort and I can assure everyone there will be a decisive finish to this fight!”

Candice in a white bikini with cheerful red polka dots and red gloves. Hair loosely tied back. Troian in a black bikini with white gloves. Two fighters exchange frosty looks during instructions. No love lost between them.

During R1: Troian comes out crisply and starts working the Accola breasts and body. Candice not liking this one bit, but won’t back down and uses her jab to make Troian pay for aggressiveness. PLP fighter’s cheekbones starting to shine up, but Mirage fighter is getting steadily pounded to the pudding. No great damage done, but Troian gets the round.

R2: More of the same at the start as Troian works her opponents body, but she is circling the blonde now and looking for openings. Candice hanging in there, she’s still working those cheekbones, but taking more and more fire to the ribs and tummy. Late in the round, Troi finally gets the opening she’s been looking for an cracks a swinging right to Candice’s jaw Sweaty blonde hair comes loose and blonde legs shake, but Candi puts a defiant hook into Troian’s own belly to make brunette gasp. However the bell rings soon after and the PLP fighter gets her second round on the judges’ cards.

R3: Troian comes out confidently ready to resume her body work on Candice, but the blonde is now the more aggressive, She hooks to the brunette’s belly with some strong punches that have Troian frowning. Candice uptempos her attack at minute two and suddenly darts in with a quick right uppercut that lifts Troian onto her toes. Smashing left follow up to the Bellisario chin. TROIAN GOES DOWN! Troian on her butt, looking dazed and bewildered to find herself looking up. She does remember to take advantage of the count so she doesn’t rise until 8, Troian clearly shaken, goes defensive the rest of the round and the Mirage blonde takes her first stanza of the night.

R4: Candice comes charging out to pick up where she left off. She hurls herself at Troian, gloves flying, but the brunette tries to stand her ground. They battle it out at close range. Gloved fists smacking into straining, sweaty bodies. Candice clearly dominating in the first two minutes, but Troian starts moving up and down, evading the blonde’s fire and looking for a chance. Late in the round, she gets it, a quick, powerful right uppercut gets in under Candice’s guard and raises her chin. Candice does a stutter-step and Troian unloads a right cross to her jaw. DOWN GOES CANDICE. Candice crouching on her haunches, panting hard as she shakes her head trying to clear the cobwebs. The blonde pulls herself together, but has to retreat as Troian comes at her. Desperate jabbing, keeps the PLP fighter at bay, but the knockdown allows Troian to steal what had been another Candice Accola round.

R5: Back and forth round. Troian trying to build on the knock down keeps the pressure on Candice. She forces the blonde back step by step. Candice using her jab to pepper Troian’s head and body, but she’s not slowing down the brunette’s attack. The PLP fighter finally gets the Mirage boxer against the ropes. Candice goes face-in-hands but gets her sides worked over to the bell. Round to Troian.

R6: If Troi thought that she had gained control of this fight, Candi disabused her of the notion with this vigorous round. The blonde seems to have regained her composure as she comes out and uses her jab to halt Troi’s advance, then she moves in to clip brunette chin. Troian’s legs give a shudder, but she recovers and goes on the defensive. Candice starts moving around Troian and catching with her with punches from unexpected angles. Troian lumping up to the face, but still answering back with determination.
Nevertheless, Candice wins her first round since R3. Big smile on the blonde’s face as she goes to her corner. Troian frowning in disappointment.

R7: Candice goes back to her blitz tactics from the start of R4, but this time she is even quicker in zipping across the ring to surprise Troi and batters the brunette back into her own corner. Troi’s head and body banged around again, but she managed to fight her way out of the trap and get to midring. Candice in hot pursuit, manages to cut off the ring and give Troi another beating. Troian starting to bleed slightly from her nose, but she finally gets moving and the two spend the last minute circling each other, but Candice is pumping out the leather more quickly and takes the round in a shutout. Big grin on Candice’s face. Troian looking frustrated and angry with herself.

R8: Troian under pressure now, shows her response by charging across the ring and watching Candice by surprise with an all-out blitz. Candi quick enough to keep from being trapped against the turnbuckle, but Troian moves after her, finally getting in front of the blonde and firing hooks into her tummy. Candice doubled up then gets her head banged around. Troian moving all the time this round and never letting up on the leather. Candice now getting a trickle of crimson from a cut on the forehead, but she tries to keep her focus and get her jab going again, but Troian isn’t letting her do it, Rounds ends in a shutout by Troi in answer to Candi’s R7 sweep.

R9: Both fighters are looking battle-weary, sweat and blood soon trickling down their bodies as they clash again, this time mainly at midring. Troian resumes her circling and she seems to be wearing the blonde down as the minutes tick away. Candice hanging on grimly, not giving up, but she’s clearly tiring. Late flurry from Troi, trying to find Candi’s chin, but blonde backpedals behind her jab. Round to Troi.

R10: Troi comes out with determination and tries to smash her way through Candice’s defense. Pounds blonde belly for most of the first minute and Candice is tipping forward. Troian then drops down and pumps some quick uppercuts into Candice’s chin. Candice reeling back, tries to get out of there, but Troian steps in front of her, buries a left hook into the blonde’s breadbasket and then a ripping right uppercut to that tenderized chin. Candice stumbles back and then falls to her back with a crash. Troian retreats to the neutral corner as the referee moves in for the count. Candice moving her legs, rocking her body, but she can’t gather her wits to rise. Count goes to ten.
The Winner: Troian Bellisario KO10!

After: A hard-won victory by Troian finds the PLP girl beaming with post-fight confidence: “Well, maybe she did give me a few hard minutes, but I was never really worried. Accola is just going to have to realize I am the better fighter and move on.”

“She is NOT a better fighter than me!” Candice later insists to the press. “She is a trickier fighter than me, I will admit that, but ‘better’—no way! This is only starting between us.”

Exciting fight leaves the fans buzzing. Troian now leads 3-1 in her series with Candice, but the Mirage blonde shows fresh determination despite this latest loss. Fans already debating if Candi can come back from this deficit against her brunette rival in their NEXT encounter.
