DISNEY & NICKELODEON CHALLENGE BOUTS PART 1

These girls certainly have issues with each other as they each look to improve their records. Impressive in BBU, Demi hasn’t rattled too many cages in FCBA, but Miley has had more success, including a win over Nina Dobrev last time out, which will surely push her up the rankings.

Miley’s wearing a silver bikini for this one, with red gloves and boots, while Demi is a little understated in a black one-piece outfit, black gloves, white boots.

Round 1

The girls have little respect for each other personally, but they both show respect for each others punching, although Miley’s keen to get inside to hurt Demi to the body, but she’s quickly rebuffed when she does get in there, and now the pair stand back a little, Miley landing a right to Demi’s jaw, but she takes a left, right, left from Demi, comes back with a good shot to Demi’s body, but Demi’s having the better of this first real exchange, her solid punches to Miley’s face sending her backwards to the ropes, eyes wide. But crucially, Demi’s too slow to build on her advantage, and when she gets into range, Miley clips her face with a good combo, two jabs and a cross, and she fights her way out of trouble, hits Demi with a good left hook, but takes some more leather to her body as the round ends, Demi closing Miley to the ropes, and giving her some punishment from close range.

Round 2

Neither girl seems to want to show too much in the opening seconds of this round, with Demi content to jab at Miley’s face, the blonde girl starting to do more of the work now, circling her shorter rival, letting her have control of the centre of the ring, skipping round her, and getting her punches over Demi’s guard before switching her attack down neatly, hitting Demi to the body, but she isn’t hurting Demi, who comes back at her now, taking control of another punching trade, her solid crosses and hooks clearly troubling Miley who lands a neat left, right combination, only to eat four heavy blows in return, the blonde shaking her head to clear it as she clinches Demi in the closing seconds, the brunette again looking the more powerful girl.

Round 3

After absorbing that late punishment, Miley seems understandably more defensive now, and Demi finds her an easier target to hit because of it, Miley getting a little used up as the brunette connects to her face with a snapping combo, two left jabs, then a right cross, and Miley’s having to hold, but she isn’t clinching tightly enough, and she gets hurt to the body too, Demi really getting through her defences, and now she shakes Miley with an uppercut, which sends her backwards, and half spreads her on the ropes, Demi again not getting to her quickly enough. Pre-fight favourite Miley looks a little shabby here, as she takes more punishment, Demi cuffing her from close range, getting that guard down, and she’s reaping the reward for her hard work in style as Miley’s face begins to bruise from the punches she’s taken, a thin dribble of blood escaping from her lips before she goes back to her corner.

Round 4

Miley should probably be concentrating on defence, but she’s come off her stool to trade punches with Demi, even though Demi seems to have the measure of her, and she nails her with a left to the jaw, and a right to the cheek, Miley staggering to the ropes, cut to the left cheek after that shot. Eyes shining, Demi moves in, and smacks a couple more punches right on that cut, but Miley gets herself tall, and gets on her toes, keeps Demi back, knowing she has to use her more athletic physique and longer reach if she’s to avoid a swift and savage defeat, so she keeps moving now, and, as Demi starts to puff a little, Miley lands a few crisp punches of her own, trying so hard to show her many fans what she’s capable of against a girl determined to knock her down.

Round 5

Demi’s after Miley from the bell, and she hits her hard and early, three good shots to the face, and she’s quickly reopened that cut, and now she dominates Miley, pummeling her backwards as she hits her, doing good work to the blonde’s body, and doesn’t let Miley keep her at arms’ length, stays inside her guard and works on her body again. A gasping Miley’s wincing, holding, letting the ref pull her clear, generally frustrating Demi, who comes in again from another break – and gets tagged with a swift one-two! Demi staggers briefly, takes a good left to the jaw from Miley, and goes down! Demi’s not down for long, on her feet at 5, but she doesn’t look the same fighter now as Miley bats her head side to side in the corner, the bell not coming too soon from Demi’s point of view.

Round 6

It looks like Demi hasn’t fully recovered from that knockdown in the 5th, and Miley’s right on her case, as she slams her head with more good left hand punches, Demi looking dazed as the blonde sends her spinning back into the ropes, Demi doing her best to protect herself as she’s quickly followed by Miley, who rips in some uppercuts to the brunette’s face, her legs shaking at the knees, but she clinches well, blood dribbling from her nostrils, making her breathe through her mouth, Demi looking really vulnerable now as Miley’s giving her some good work to her body, Demi struggling to make a mark in this round until the closing seconds when Miley gets a little too close, allowing Demi to get herself off the ropes, turning Miley but unable to reverse the punishment, as the blonde girl hurts her again with a solid left to the mouth, and a right to her ear to finish the round.

Round 7

Miley starts the round well, and she’s looking dangerous as she attacks Demi, and she works on Demi’s bod again, slowly but surely working her to her own corner, setting her up maybe to work on her face? She gives Demi a solid left jab, right jab, left hook combo, but Demi’s a tough customer, and she turns an over eager Miley, has her up against the turnbuckle, and she launches some big shots, as she punches her to the face, left, right, left, Miley’s head rocking to and fro, and a cracking right hook puts Miley down, sliding down the ropes to the canvas, and the blonde’s a little slow to rise, on her feet and ready at 8, though. Miley looks hurt and she takes a battering from Demi, who whizzes some hard punches into her face, the blood running form her cut cheek, spraying across the ring as Demi crashes punches into her swollen face.

Round 8

Miley changes her tactics, and she trades with Demi – this shocks the brunette, but she soon shows Miley that she’s made a big mistake here, as she bounces her punches off Miley’s face, her cut cheek giving her real trouble, blood flowing, the cheek itself badly swollen and beginning to affect her vision. Again the game Miley fights back, but Demi’s giving her more than she wants, Miley reverting to her earlier plan, as she’s forced to box on the retreat, finding it tough to keep Demi out of her face, the shorter girl looking stronger as the round draws on, whipping Miley’s body with tasty punches, her leather gloves smacking into Miley’s slender body, the blonde just about seeing the round out, tears in her eyes as she moves slowly to her stool.

Round 9

Demi must be scenting victory, and she wants a big trade, but Miley’s not having it, keeps her distance nicely, her longer reach helping to keep Demi back. Now Demi gets in closer, looking powerful, and she goes for a big punch, which Miley parries - she’s not giving Miley enough respect here, and Miley connects with a crushing left cross, flattening Demi, who struggles to beat the count, still on shaky legs at 8 as she tells the referee she’s ok to continue. Now Miley takes over the fight, her extra inch or so of reach enabling her to pick Demi off, giving her face a lot of jabs and crosses, and now Demi’s cut – a nasty one too in her left eyebrow, Miley now really on top of her, and she beats the brunette to the ropes, Demi reacting time and again by clinching and spoiling, leaning into Miley to try to drain her energy, but she’s not actually punching her, just absorbing Miley’s punishment, the blonde almost strutting to her corner as she sees Demi looking happy to have survived that round.

Round 10

This time it’s Miley who comes off her stool with all guns blazing, and she stuns Demi with a four shot combo to put the girl on her back foot, those left and right crosses sending Demi backwards, looking exhausted and Miley follows up, really putting the effort in as she tries to prise Demi’s defence open, working on her body – but Demi responds! The brunette digs deep, and she fights back, both girls so so tired now, and Demi’s impressing all fightfans tonight with her energy, still beating Miley to the punch, and she uses her ringcraft to turn the blonde again, working on her body hard, Miley not giving much back as Demi sets her steady, and gives her an uppercut to the face from close range, Miley’s eyes glassy, the girl all washed up, but she’s still hanging on, the seconds ticking away as Demi swipes her battered face to the left, now to the right, but she can’t put her down, and the bell ends the fight, the girls embracing – they’ve given everything.:

Result: Miley Cyrus beat Demi Lovato on points

It was a unanimous decision, Miley winning largely due to scoring the extra knockdown, but there has to be a rematch for sure, and soon.
