The Man In The Hat sits, as usual, in the center of the dais. To his right are Neve Campbell, Jewel, Mariska Hargitay, and Avril Lavigne. To his left are Britney Spears, Kat Graham, Jane Levy, and Pink.
Man In The Hat: "I got a football game to get to. Questions. Cable Boy. Go!"
HBO Reporter: "How disappointed are you in Kat's loss?"
Man In The Hat: "Well, first off, let's make clear there's no shame in losing to Lucy Hale. Lucy's rounded into a very dangerous flyweight. She's a girl who's goin' places. If we ever see another flyweight title fight, the champ could do worse than defendin' against Lucy Hale. Cable Boy II. Talk to me."
Showtime Reporter: "So, you aren't disappointed?"
Man In The Hat: "Here's the thing. In the FCBA, you're gonna lose fights. The key is not losin' fights you're supposed ta win and not blowin' fights you HAD won. Kat didn't do that. This was a 50/50 fight and it was a good, close fight. Coulda gone either way. Didn't go ours. Tess, dear, go ahead."
Tess: "How does this affect the pecking order?"
Man In The Hat(smiling): "Hey, all you other reporters. Do Old Wiz a favor. Take NOTES when Tess asks questions. Maybe you'll LEARN somethin'. Yes, Tess, that's the question, isn't it? Because, a WIN would have put Kat right on top. But, that didn't happen. Right now, I'd suspect things are still fluid. Kat's gonna fight again before the year's over. We'll see how that goes. Smackeroo! Take us to dinner and football!"
Reporter: "Obviously your evaluation process is continuing. From what I'm hearing, tonight's fight didn't exactly hurt Kat too much..."
Man In The Hat: "Ok. Let me make this clear. We are NEVER happy about losin' a fight, but, considerin' the opposition and how the fight went, there was a lot to like in Kat's performance. Not as much as if she'd WON, mind..."
(Laughter)
Man In The Hat: "But, there was a lot to like, no question. Let me, however, make this clear to everyone in this room. This stable has been in existence for 56 months, and, for 56 months, we have struggled at flyweight. THAT. IS. GOING. TO. CHANGE. Period. End of story. I've had enough of it and it's going to change. 2015 is going to be DIFFERENT. One way or the other. Now, we gotta get goin'. Tess. Smackey. Limo!" |

Lucy Hale: "Winning is always good, but beating a tough opponent like Kat Graham is really, really good. It took me a long time to get on track in this sport, but now that I'm finally there--I am determined to take this all the way to the top of the division I know it won't be next week, but I truly believe I can do it over time."
Shay Mitchell: "I really can't stand that blonde. I know I can beat her and I am not going to stop until I do."
Laura Vandervoort: "Once again I've proved who truly rules the beach. Aly gave her best shot, but it wasn't good enough!"
Candice Swanepoel: "That evil brunette tramp! Adriana couldn't wait for me to put on the saddle. She had to knee me the gut and humiliate me! She's a lousy rider, too! I hope someone like Theron does the same to her! I'll ne cheering on whoever does!"
Hayden Panettiere says with a smile: "I can't tell you how satisfying it was to not only beat Cassie Scerbo, but then to dump her into the sand and stand over her so she and everyone else can see who the dominate fighter. She's been a pest to me, all right, but now she;s been swatted and swatted good!"
Dani Fishel: "That didn't go so well, did it? I realize there are a lot of 'observers' who think I ought to go back into retirement. I am not one if them. I think there is nothing wrong with me that hard work and study can; fix. But give some credit to Ashley--that fight wasn't just about me losing--it about Ashley Green winning. She's going to be a threat to anyone she faces. You can take Dani Fishel's word for it!" |
