TESS VALMORE
RITTER/ SOBIESKI When I saw the identity of the fighters after thay had climbed into the ring, i thought this bout will go about three rounds. Ritter won’t hang with Sobieski any longer than that, if that long. To my surprise Ritter gave LeeLee a good fight. The fight was even at two, at four, at six and at eight. After the eighth, there was some discussion in the Front Street corner. Sobieski came out stalking and it didn’t take long for her to land a big right that sent Ritter down to the canvas where she remained as the count passed her by
PARRISH/ GRAHAM I admit I didn’t know who Parrish was when she climbed into the ring. I have seen about 15 minutes or Pretty Little Liars which I thought was 14 minutes too long. I didn’t give her a chance against Graham. I thought we would see a mid fight Graham knockout. That’s not the way this fight turned out. Parrish turned out to be not only competitive but, at least on this night, better than Graham. This was one of those see saw bouts that was even at the end of eight. I still thought Graham would pull it out. She didn’t. Parrish won the last two rounds to get the decision and pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year, I know we will be going to a press conference after the card is done. I wonder how the Wiz will spin this loss
KEEGAN/ STEWART Once again I favored The Front Street fighter after the identities of the fighters was revealed. Keegan was a stranger to me since I don’t follow the BBU which is not on my beat, Once again, I thought this would be a short contest. I was shocked when Keegan won the first three rounds to put Stewart in a hole. Keegan was still ahead at the end of seven and another upset was in sight. I didn’t happen. In the eighth, a straight right to the jaw and a flurry of follow up punches left Keegan down and counted out
DIXON/ MACK This was the first bout of the night that wasn’t competitive early. Mack won four of the first five rounds including a third round knockdown.. Dixon didn’t finish the sixth. A Mack right hook laid Dixon out on the canvas like a cheap carpet. A impressive outing for Mack
ELLISON/ RUAH Ellison is not stranger to the Asylum and has had success here. This was her third trip to Philadelphia. This time she would face Daniella Ruah. I thought Ellison would be competitive and give Ruah some problems. Well she was competitive and did give Ruah a problem….for a short time. She was even with Ruah at the end of four. Unfortunately for Ellison, she would not be around to finish the fifth. In that round, Ruah landed a left hook and a straight right and Ellison’s night was over. Ruah with KO5
WILDE/ PARK This was the paring of the night and also the fight of the night. It was close all the way. Wilde was ahead at a couple points and then Park would be ahead. Park was one point ahead going into the final round. She needed to win it, but Wilde managed to take the round and get a draw. The right went into extra rounds. Wilde won the eleventh and needed to win the twelfth. Park came out aggressively and was clearly winning the round when Wilde dropped her with a right hook. Time ran out while Park was still on the canvas giving Wilde the round and the fight.
For those interested, mainly my mother and my boss. I went 20-6 in predictions on todays two PPV |
