BBU BOUT FROM EAST LONDON

It's not just the clash of the generations but more importantly a contest to decide who's exactly the best flyweight fighter from London as Georgie Thompson welcomes all BBU fans to a classic East London dust up where the local girl from Newham - Jade Ewen takes on Barnet's very own Emma Bunton.

Georgie knows a thing or two about football and there's no wonder the audience is dominated by West Ham United's claret & sky blue but Bunton's fans proudly wear the Tottenham white & blue and while the guests from up north are sitting higher in the EPL table, Georgie predicts an upset and thinks Emma can knock Jade out tonight and mount one last charge towards the divisional title which has eluded her thus far despite being the original pin-up girl of the Lioness Club. However Jade has the crowd support behind her and the fact she enters the ring for the first time in eleven months doesn't seem to bother anyone in East London at all. And if someone's closer to actually having a shot at the title most BBU pundits would pick Ewen with their eyes closed contrary to Thompson's somewhat erratic claims.

Jade Ewen wears a silver basque top, black knickers and sky blue gloves. Dark brown hair straight, curled at the bottom. Emma Bunton wears a white bikini top, dark blue hotpants and matching gloves. Blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the flyweight division.

Round 1:
Jade shows no signs of rustiness and squares up to the blonde in no time; she starts pumping leather against Emma's ribcage before moving up high and making a repeated rack connection. Emma leans on her though with a spirited response and spikes a series on the cheeks slowing the Sugababe down a bit; follows that up with a good slicing of the guard and both girls settle into a classic leather trade off with nothing being held back, a predictable scenario when the pride of London is on the line. Jade shows superior work rate in the ensuing dust up and overwhelms the blonde in the final minute, lands a couple of heavy jabs on the nose to wobble Bunton back to the ropes where she forces her into an earmuff cover before making further contact with the tummy as Emma aches her presence at the bell and the younger singer just about nicked it there much to the crowd's delight!

Round 2:
Ewen beats Bunton for the opening left-hander and nails her on the nose off the bat to assume immediate control; she whacks the blonde around with a flurry of punches in the opening minute as Emma tries to duck and weave instead of responding but falls into another left hook on the nose and sinks on her knees. Jade rips into her face thereafter and it's a brutal display from the youngster who mauls Emma's face, batting the guard aside and pushing a lacklustre blonde back onto the ropes sooner than even Georgie Thompson anticipated. All Ewen in pillar to post beating of the Barnet-based opponent as Emma just can't live with the frantic pace of Jade's attacks and her head gets snapped repeatedly as she falls into another desperate earmuff cover with the East Londoner romping away to a commanding display and almost holding something back at the death just to see how bad mentally Emma's been pummelled, the blonde Spice Girl leans over the ropes so far back she nearly falls on top of her head as Jade sinks her with a last-ditch hook on the navel and shakes her glove to the rampant crowd already.

Round 3:
Emma's game plan apparently featured Jade getting into a slow start but there's no sign of that and Jade keeps making the blonde look slow and tired herself, another feisty approach lumps up Bunton's face within the opening minute as Ewen works the facial assault but it's the uppercut that makes the trick half way through... Emma yelps in pain and closes her eyes, wobbles the side before a crunching left hook nails her on the brow ridge AND SENDS TUMBLING TO THE CANVAS... Jade adjusts her hair and looks unmoved but the huge smile indicates otherwise as Emma somehow beats the count at seven but just stares at the East Londoner who's ready to dish out more venom... Single hand approach reels the blonde back to the turnbuckle and Jade digs more into the midriff this time, still finds a couple of uppercuts late on but abandons the complete annihilation of her opponent as Emma sags on her knees in wake of more late jabs on the ribcage but the finishing haymaker eludes her and Georgie thinks that was deliberate from Jade who seems to enjoy this performance more than anyone else.

Round 4:
Emma's not the best flyweight in London based on pure boxing display as the record selling numbers are irrelevant tonight and Jade finally decides she's had enough of the blonde and stuns her with another crunching uppercut seconds into the fourth which just slices the guard apart and jerks Bunton's head backwards to close her eyes. She manages to retain her balance but as she opens her eyes to adjust her stance there's a left hander bouncing off her brow ridge again and a right follow up catches her on the ear... "Oi, Emma!!!", a sudden gasp interrupts the East London party as Emma just jack-knifes onto her knees and crashes flat on her face with a quiet whimper... and now it's the time to raise the roof as everyone including the ref realizes that Bunton is out of her senses... KO4 Jade Ewen!!!

AFTER: That was emphatic from the Sugababes' youngest member and one must wonder why on Earth Jade wasn't more active this year. Is everyone scared of her so much? The Ashes upset defeat looks to be light years away and Georgie Thompson must admit Emma Bunton's last chance of mounting a title charge has evaporated once and for all. As for Jade? She seems to be more than ready to challenge Mikie Hara in the upcoming months but a couple of quick fights might be scheduled for her while the whole BBU awaits Samia Ghadie's return from her US foray over the last few weeks to take a swing at the Japanese champion first.

Final result: Jade Ewen def. Emma Bunton KO4.
