INTERNATIONAL INCIDENT AT THE ASYLUM PPV

BEFORE:
"This is not the FCBA debut I was expecting," says Elisabetta, eyes shining. "I was hoping to get a chance at Decker, but, apparently she has better things to do. So, I will deal with Torv and FORCE Decker to fight me."
"Well," says Anna with a shake of the head, "I'm sorry to disappoint Elisabetta by not, you know, being Brooklyn Decker. I guess she'll just have to settle for the best lightweight Front Street has. Me."
ROUND ONE:
O'Dell: "Back at ringside for the fifth bout of the night and that's 'Chandelier' by Sia you hear, and here comes Italian stunner Elisabetta Canalis of the Latin Union..."
McCarthy: "And I have NO idea what Canalis is complaining about. She's making her debut against one of only two REAL fighters Front Street has instead of that talentless bimbo Decker..."
Tess: "Well, my sources tell me that the original negotiations between Front Street and the Latin Union WERE for a fight between Canalis and Decker, but that things changed when Brooke was challenged by Mandy Moore..."
McCarthy: "And that means we DON'T have to look at Decker's ugly face and we get to see Torv instead. Win-win for us AND the fans!"
O'Dell: "Canalis into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Latin Union corner and she DEFinitely fills out that purple bikini pretty well..."
McCarthy: "Ehhh. Maybe a group pictorial body, 'Women of Italy' or something. Not a centerfold..."
Cassie: "Siri, call Mac's eye doctor..."
McCarthy: "Shut it!"
O'Dell: "And that's 'The Pain and the Passion' by Midnight Oil pounding through the arena, and here comes the Aussie Enforcer, Anna Torv..."
McCarthy: "Torv, who was thisclose to taking those belts from Strahovski. Thisclose."
O'Dell: "Anna taps glove to hand with Mac on her way to the ring as usual, then climbs in to be helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve. Anna wearing the black bikini she likes, and the ladies are about ready. Tess favors Anna. Mac?"
McCarthy: "Again, Torv is one of the two REAL fighters in Weirdo's stable. She's one of the best lights in the world. She's not losing to this newb."
O'Dell: "Cassie?"
Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"
O'Dell: "And there's the bell. Torv wants to go jab, but Canalis across the ring and basically TACKLES her into the ropes. Elisabetta bodying up on Torv, pinning her to the ropes and turning this into a wrestling match early."
McCarthy: "What's the referee DOING? He needs to get in there and break, not let this turn into AHW!"
O'Dell: "Ref letting the fighters try to punch free in there. Some leather's landing, but it's mostly a lot of wrestling. Torv off the ropes and gets a little space, but Canalis grabs her again and ties up. Anna trying to shove off, but the Italian tying up, hitting with her free hand to the body."
Cassie: "Canalis trying to out-physical Torv, no question about it. Definitely doesn't want to box with her."
O'Dell: "And, so far, she's avoiding having to do that, using a lot of clutch and grab, push and shove. Anna can't get set or get into any kind of rhythm. Into the final seconds of the initial round. Canalis shoving and brawling and becoming more effective with it as the round goes on. There's the bell and it's Elisabetta's round."
Tess: "Not sure Torv prepared for this kind of thing. She's going to have to adjust, though."
ROUND TWO:
O'Dell: "Second round begins and Canalis right back at Torv, clinching and grabbing, pushing and shoving, banging with a free hand..."
McCarthy: "Anna needs to put a stop to this if the referee won't. She's got to put some power shots on this girl."
O'Dell: "Anna working to punch free on the inside, shouldering and shoving for space. Canalis tying up with the left, banging with the right. Elisabetta getting terms she likes, here, a brawl."
Cassie: "Anna adjusting to this a little bit. She's getting off in there, banging body, short right hands to the head. Can't get the space for the Front Street jab, but she's finding other things that work."
O'Dell: "She is at that. Torv using hooks to the body, leaning into Canalis, getting a little space with the shoulder. Elisabetta banging ribs, getting a warning from the referee as that one landed in the kidney. Not intentional by any means, but they are DIGGING in there. Final seconds tick off and there's the bell. Anna's round."
Tess: "19 all after two."
ROUND THREE:
O'Dell: "Third round begins with another charge and tackle by Elisabetta! The Italian wrestling Torv to the ropes, ripping the belly with the right, clinching with the left. Anna starting to get a little tired of this, shoving off and banging back..."
McCarthy: "Where does Weirdo GET these referees? On skid row? This guy is almost as bad as the guy who ROBBED ME IN THAT VERY RING..."
Tess: "Here we go..."
McCarthy: "Shut UP, Walmart!"
O'Dell: "Drink up, boys. Meanwhile, I'm not sure the word 'sloppy' is strong enough to describe what's happening in the ring right now. Pushing. Shoving. Holding. Some short body punches. The odd head shot. And the occasional headlock..."
Cassie: "If Canalis wanted to make an impression in her FCBA debut, she's doing it. This might not be pretty, but she's showing physicality that ought to make any light in the FCBA take notice."
O'Dell: "Torv shoving off, banging home a right hand. Elisabetta right back on her, wrestles her into the ropes, whacks body with the right. It's mugging and mauling right to the bell. Canalis has grabbed another round."
Tess: "29-28 Canalis. And if ESPN were doing a crawl, they'd have this on 'Upset Watch'."
ROUND FOUR:
O'Dell: "Fourth round begins and Torv catching Canalis with the jab, stopping her at range and now banging home right hands. Elisabetta covering up, trying to work forward, but Anna SURGICAL with that big left hand..."
McCarthy: "THIS is the Anna Torv Canalis doesn't want to deal with. This is the precision, the boxing ability, the quickness that let her keep up with the most athletic bantam in the FCBA, ME."
O'Dell: "Canalis trying to get something going at range, but can't get much done. She's all one shot at a time, as Anna boxes lead here. Canalis can't get off except with the odd counter. Torv carpet bombing with both hands. Excellent flurries off that big left."
Tess: "Canalis can't stay out there. This is a recipe for disaster for her. She's taking too much accurate fire."
O'Dell: "She is, indeed. For the first time in the fight, Canalis being backed up. Feeling Anna's power. Canalis covering up now, backed almost into the ropes. Torv all gun platform right now, and you do not want to be on the other end of those shells. Last seconds of the round and there's the bell. Couldn't have come soon enough for Canalis. Torv easily in the fourth."
Cassie: "38-38 with six to go."
ROUND FIVE:
O'Dell: "Fifth round and Elisabetta charges Torv again! Tackles her back into the ropes and here we go. Elisabetta putting body all OVER Anna, banging ribs with that right hand, pressing the Aussie against the ropes..."
McCarthy: "I'm going to say it again. This is RIDICULOUS. This isn't AHW..."
Cassie: "Speaking of which, why weren't YOU asked to do color for the Front Street AHW series again, Mac?"
McCarthy: "Because, as I've said previously, when I heard about the series I had my agent send word that I was NOT AVAILABLE. My schedule is much too busy to be running back and forth to Philadelphia for this nonsense..."
Cassie: "What color is the sky in your world, Mac?"
McCarthy: "Was that some kind of shot at me, Scabbo?"
Cassie: "Of COURSE not..."
McCarthy: "You're learning."
O'Dell(sighing): "I, of course, NEVER learn, because I come back month after month. To broadcast BOXING. So, if we could pay attention to the ring, we'd see Canalis getting another warning for a hook that landed in the kidney. Torv not happy about it. Shoves Elisabetta and Canalis shoves back! Ref between them to settle this down..."
Tess: "It takes a lot to get Anna, who's the Queen of Cool, fired up in there, but Canalis has managed it."
O'Dell: "Action resumed and Elisabetta grabbing and shoving. Torv shoulders her off, lands a nice flurry. Canalis counters with a good short right, her best punch of the fight and we've got a big exchange going down the stretch! Both fighters fired up and firing away to the bell! There it is! Close round, but Anna grabbed it late."
Tess: "48-47 Torv after five."
ROUND SIX:
O'Dell: "Sixth begins with Canalis all over Torv again. Charging forward, tying Anna up, wrestling her backward, banging body with the free right hand. Torv trying to shove off and get some space, trying to punch free, but Canalis bumping, tying, shouldering..."
McCarthy: "Torv needs to keep working to get space. When she got it at the end of last round, you saw what she could do..."
O'Dell: "Torv doing just that, shoving Canalis off, but Elisabetta right back on her. Anna shoves off again and DROPS CANALIS WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"
McCarthy: "THERE you go!"
O'Dell: "Elisabetta dropped to a sitting position. Count at three. Four. Five. Six. Canalis to her feet at seven. She'll take the mandatory and the referee going to let it continue..."
Cassie: "And Canalis might wish he didn't. Here comes Anna..."
O'Dell: "And Torv now letting the hands fly! She's got Canalis in full retreat and she's banging away. GOOD RIGHT HAND SENDS THE ITALIAN REELING INTO THE ROPES!"
Tess: "Ref might want to get in there..."
O'Dell: "Elisabetta trapped on the ropes and Anna all OVER her. Torv rocking Canalis' world, splits the gloves with a right hand, sends her staggering along the ropes with a left hook. Good right hand wobbles the knees and it's OVER! Referee leaps between the fighters and your winner by TKO6 is 'The Aussie Enforcer', Anna Torv!"
AFTER:
O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore."
Tess: "I have our winner, Anna Torv, and, Anna, looks like things got a little heated in there tonight..."
Anna: "Well, she wanted to wrestle around and slop punches, and she landed a couple in my back. I know it wasn't intentional, but it didn't make me happy."
Tess: "You might not have liked the terms you were fighting on, but you made it work..."
Anna: "Since the ref was going to let this turn into some kind of back alley brawl, I figured the best thing to do was was fight fire with fire. I knew I could get her, and, when I did, I made no mistake."
