This could be the fight of the Boxing Day PPV right here as two strong and fit blondes are destined to steal the show on any boxing card around the world! Helena Mattsson was denied a championship belt when she lost to Miranda Kerr but she refuses to accept an easy challenge and crosses the Canadian border to take on Maple Leaf's pin-up girl Alaina Huffman. There's some pressure on both these women who look to preserve a 100% winning record for their stables tonight. Huffman's teammate Emilie Ullerup scored a fine victory over Louisa Lytton but more importantly all four Mattsson's teammates have won their fights in tremendous fashion and Lookout! Atlantic Boxing chases the fifth win on the trot to secure the biggest prize bonus of the entire card!
Georgie Thompson thinks that Alaina is even more dangerous than Manuela Arcuri was before her epic downfall against Doutzen Kroes and she truly drills Helena's presence with massive death stares that suggests it's almost now or never for Huffman to strike it big and enter the lightweight title picture. Since Sayuki Matsumoto scored a huge win on her comeback and with Rochelle Humes and Rihanna still to follow, there's a lot at stakes for the 34 year old Canadian who never quite managed to reach the top despite plenty of exposure in the past! Mattsson's four years her junior and has more time on her hands to play with!
Alaina Huffman wears a red basque top, white knickers and boots and black gloves. Helena Mattsson wears a pale blue basque top, matching knickers, yellow gloves and boots. It's safe to say the both display their national colors here! The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Mattsson wades in on the older blonde and pummels her body early but Alaina's seen it all before and doesn't get scared away that quickly; she accepts Helena's concept and counters over the top to slam a jabbing series across her mouth. Helena's still keen to show her strenght and both women trade punches in the middle of the ring without yielding an inch but Alaina's facial assault proves more efficient down the stretch and snaps Mattsson's head back, wobbles her to the side and earns a quick switch on the delicious rack. Alaina's just rock solid tactically and looks to pummel through on the face again but this time gets blocked off and grazed on the ribs as Mattsson holds her ground late.
Round 2:
Another stand off early, both women are visibly keen to enforce some muscle here but Huffman's facial strikes are just that more meaningful and she snaps Helena's head back, the Swedish blonde refuses to seek respite and earns herself a nasty shiner under the left eye as Alaina ups the onslaught and is quick enough to avoid a piercing switch on the midsection. Mattsson has the right intensity but not the precision and gets pummelled around in another frantic exchange that makes her moan a little and eventually causes her to retreat late in the going.
Round 3:
Huffman's truly relentless in her facial precision as she splits Helena's mitts and keeps piling on the pressure; Mattsson gets vocal as she grazes the Canadian's cheeks but wobbles forward after losing her balance and getting outsmarted on her feet by Huffman... a lightning quick right hand bangs her on the wounded eye and opens the cut a little bit more; Alaina's still on top of her foe and strikes around the high guard to punish the temples and rocks Mattsson back towards the ropes where she finally goes low and pierces the navel sagging Helena at the bell.
Round 4:
Mattsson jumps into a frantic attack trying to dismantle Alaina's gameplan but gets blocked off and her shots to the ribcage make no impression on the incredibly resistant Canadian actress here... Meanwhile a wide swing cuts through the mitts and slams Helena on the jaw to wobble her to the side; Alaina closes right up and uppercuts the rack throwing the Swede into visible misery before lashing out at her face again and rocking her temples side to side; Helena falls onto the ropes with eyes closed and soaks up heavy onslaught but refuses to go down showing why she's so hard to get by; still Huffman nails her with a cross hooking combo on the wounded eye and that's a right old gash under Helena's eye developing and growing very quickly to cause her real trouble after just four rounds.
Round 5:
The LAB cutmen work furiously on Helena's injury but the gash is just swelling into the blonde's eye now and clearly impares her vision. Alaina's truly displayed some raw power tonight and picks up where she left off pumping her gloves into Mattsson's face and staggering her into a deep cover. Helena throws single hands in response, pierces the Canadian's ribs but just doesn't seem to hurt her at all and gets trapped in overhand barrage as Huffman ups the tempo even further and openly bashes the yellow mitts aside. She stabs Helena's left eye with a couple of piledrivers and that's gotta hurt! Mattsson moans in pain and gets backed into the ropes with Huffman working on that swollen eye and causing more damage. Helena just half-turns to protect that area now but gets wrenched on the ribs and screams out as Alaina scythes her across the breadbasket and leaves trembling all over at the bell. She gives the Swede a long look before turning back to her corner and Helena can only rub her eye and hope for a miracle to save her day!
Round 6:
Mattsson's a top lightweight and even such a tough fighter like Huffman can't knock her out on the spot but the eye is half-swollen now and the proud Swede can't see much now and it only gets worse as Alaina targets it without much sympathy and snaps the head back repeatedly... back in the front seats Sayuki Matsumoto has made her way back from the locker room and seems to be very interested in these two blonde going at it hammer and tongs but it's just Huffman putting the hammer down on Mattsson now as the buxom Swede gets plastered back to the turnbuckle and soaks up more facial menace; she sinks on her knees and is pounded back and forth until the bell after which she just shakes her head and it's confirmed she can't see a thing on the left eye now.
Round 7:
Some concerns whether Mattsson makes it back out but the doctor feels she's good to go with no blood on her face and aside from that huge lump all over her eye she's pretty dandy... Huffman just wrenches her on the wounded area as Helena can't sense the distance anymore on the left side and has the Canadian pumping heavy leather all the way through and just sending the Swede stumbling into the corner where she gets nailed on the chin when the arms just dropped to the side and the lungs couldn't find that one extra breath... "Oi, Helena!", MATTSSON SLIDES DOWN IN THE CORNER... and it's a heavy punch from Alaina who slices her throat with an invisible knife and we all know what that means... Helena tries to get up but struggles to recover and allthough she's back on her feet at seven she stumbles to the side and leans herself across the ropes.. she shakes her head and points at the wounded eye; the LAB crew know it's an obstacle they can't get around now... it's all over... TKO7 Alaina Huffman!!!
AFTER: Huffman just watches one of her main divisional rivals being consoled in the opposite corner but that was a huge display of raw power from the Canadian actress. Sitting out the whole year made her look even better upon return and she's actually had a much more demanding opponent to deal with than Sayuki Matsumoto who applauds Alaina's success with a stone cold face in the front row.
This victory for Team Canada snaps the four fight winning streak for the Lookout! Atlantic who still end the Boxing Day PPV with 80% record! Helena accepts she was just unlucky with that swollen eye and jokes with Rebecca Hall and Jenna-Louise Coleman just minutes after the fight, still with a huge ice pack around her left eye. She knows that she's one of the top lightweights around and regardless of tonight's result she'll get another chance to boost her rankings really soon. Georgie Thompson says girls like Mattsson will always get coverage and by just looking at the Swedish actress it's very easy to understand why!
