Rihanna would like to feature on the American market again but because her results there have been far inferior compared to her music performances she's almost forced to chase top class BBU fighters for the time being. Rochelle Humes remains the best fighter coming from The Saturdays band who tried to conquer America themselves a while ago however her current priority is to get back in the lightweight title picture especially that most of the chief divisional opponents have scored a vital victory earlier on the night already.

Rihanna wears a black basque top, white knickers, boots and matching gloves. Dyed bloned hair in loose curls. Rochelle Humes wears a yellow bandeau bikini, black hip-huggers and yellow gloves. Brown hair in loose waves, curled at the bottom. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.

Round 1:
Humes is usually the aggressive character but she gets caught out by Rihanna's feisty approach early on and endures a quick ribcage mauling before the Barbados singer just shoves her away and nails with a long ranged hook to the eye. Rihanna's anything but intimidated by Rochelle's BBU numbers and hassles her around the ring thereafter, makes full use of her superior reach and lands more single shots on the head to annoy the former lightweight champion; Rochelle's pressed into some response late on but can't pummel through the guard and can only enjoy Rihanna's smile at the bell.

Round 2:
Rihanna has the superior speed here and easily prevents Rochelle from closing in; she keeps her at bay with repeated overhands but as much as Humes gets shut out there isn't any significant damage inflicted on her either as the Barbados singer settles into punch happy but largely ineffective display. She outworks Rochelle in the middle of the ring but doesn't press her to the corner and seems happy to just watch her lose her temper and jump into a suicidal attack. Too early for that though and Humes' too good around BBU venues to fall into a trap like that according to Georgie Thompson in the booth.

Round 3:
More of the same in the third, Rihanna rocking and reeling, landing single shots only and showing far too lenient approach against one of Britain's finest lightweights. Perhaps it's understandable why she can't make her mark in USA so quickly as she wants and there aren't any Barbados sands around London to help her with the cold British climate. Humes bides her time, looks happy to drop another round and seems to be looking for a way to knock the mogul singer out rather than do anything stupid at this point. This is pure suspence as Rochelle keeps her cards in the pocket through nine minutes.

Round 4:
Somehow Rihanna doesn't smell a trap in Rochelle's lethargic display and keeps doing her thing, the crowd is stunned as well as a small burst of speed has the Saturdays' girl backing to the ropes and opening a rare gap; Rihanna pours in with some cleavage jabs but gets blocked off and clnched thereafter. Humes is happy to slow the pace down and refuses to let go, has to be dragged away by the ref as whenever Rihanna tries to spike her jugs she gets clinched and one has to wonder what's going on insides these girls' heads. An ugly round concludes when the Barbados singer cashes in on some ribcage pounding and pins a lacklustre English girl against the turnbuckle.

Round 5:
This is something new...Rihanna's had enough of the fun & games and wades in on the English singer, nails her with an uppercut to the jaw which blows Humes' cover for good. She responds with a rapid series to the ribcage and jumps into that close range assault she was looking for all night... belting hook catches Rihanna on the navel and reels her back as Rochelle cracks a straight jab on the eye and has the Barbados singer staring at her in disbelief.. Here comes Humes though powering through on the jugs and punching her rival back to the turnbuckle where she shrugs off a lame clinching effort and whips more uppercuts on the chest to make the Beevers' girl moan at the bell which is greeted by a huge ovation from the crowd!

Round 6:
Leather flies left, right and center now as Rochelle drops her defensive antics and crashes into Rihanna's body who loses her balance after a mistimed approach and gets smacked across the mouth instead. She keeps the guard in tact though and responds from the back foot, gives Humes a couple of lumps on the cheeks as the core strenght is still there but as Rochelle switches to the ribcage, Rihanna's feisty attitude evaporates and it's easily noticeable even from the stands. Humes hooks herself against the ribcage and switches her targets, has the Barbados girl clinching her late in the round to prevent anything more serious though.

Round 7:
Rihanna tries to speed up the action but Rochelle is just that little quicker and finds a jabbing combo to the mouth snapping her foe's head back. The switch on the midsection is almost immediate though and Humes harpoons the ribcage to sink a suddenly cumbersome looking fellow singer on her knees. Rihanna fires back but only grazes the top of Rochelle's head and eats more ribcage barrage which reels her back against the ropes. Humes finds more intensity and buries the Beevers' girl with a jabbing galore that results in Rihanna seeking another clinch before she gets clipped on the chest and jaw as Rochelle tears into her in a way everyone anticipated from her since the very first round. Rihanna shakes her head at the bell and looks to be aching here which completely derails her American stock.

Round 8:
Rochelle seeks more damage to her rival's midriff but Rihanna finally thinks better off it and refuses to step in anymore and reverts to single hand spiking up high. Humes has enough of this; she charges at the body and bumps into Rihanna's jugs, shoves her against the ropes and is unlucky the Barbados singer found a hooking connection on the eye to ecape trouble. Humes fakes a feisty approach but both girls circle back and stare at each other perhaps trying to figure out whether a knockdown will be required by either of them to win the fight. Rihanna's convinced the judges will favor her any which way and the Saturdays lead singer thinks likewise, she ups her tempo inside the last twenty seconds of the round again but Rihanna's too agile on her feet and easily maintains safety range.

Round 9:
Humes comes flying in however misses a hook to the temple and gets whacked on the jugs as Rihanna screams out in a wild effort to chop the English girl down. A sudden turn of events has the Barbados singer pumping cleavage assault and rocing Humes back & forth. A sizzling hook catches the liver area and reels Rochelle back for thge first time in a while but a follow up on the jaw skims off the chin and both girls fall into a close range brawl; Humes spun the right way and avoided getting laced on the kidneys and she riffles a left hook on the eye that cuts Rihanna up and makes her gurgle in anger. She sends a flurry of shots aimed at the head and steps too close and misjudges the distance, eats a faceful of leather instead.. Humes staggers her with a jabbing series on the mouth and whips the dued blonde curls back; repeated punches break Rihanna's resilience and back her into the ropes in a half-turned escape. ROCHELLE NAILS HER WITH A CRUNCHING UPPERCUT on the jaw seconds before the bell as the arms weren't fast enough to go up and the Barbados singer was all off balance anyway... RIHANNA GOES DOWN... she has to take a knee as she couldn't find the balance but quickly wobbles on all fours as that was a true haymaker in disguise from Humes! She never saw that coming and is only saved by the bell as the Wembley Arena audience is rewarded with that all important knockdown which could swing this one in Rochelle's favor! The roar is defeaning around the place as Rihanna sits down on her knees and seems to be wondering what on Earth just happened!

Round 10:
Humes resumes the body poundin and reels Rihanna back to the ropes within seconds; the highly touted Barbados singer is truly stunned by the savage treatment and just can't live with Rochelle's pace! Heavy slaps crash off the ribcage and just remove the air from Rihanna's lungs, the girl just has nothing left here and covers up in earmuff as Humes tries to chop her down... the onslaught must stop though as Humes finally runs out of gas herself and reverts into single drilling of the fake blonde's guts, a quick hook across the mouth compounds Rihanna to her misery as Rochelle wrestles her to the turnbuckle and clips the breasts, an old fashioned mauling is always something the fans want to see; Rihanna clutches to straws, earns one last respite by spitting out her mouthguard but a late flurry of leather skims off Humes' gloves and meets more hooking menace to the ribcage, at the bell Rihanna just collapses to her knees and truly has nothing left in the tank as Rochelle adjusts her hair confident of victory based on that lone knockdown... and she's right... comes back 96-94 for your winner UD10 Rochelle Humes!!!

AFTER: Rihanna's head slumps down and she covers up her eyes when Rochelle's arm is raised; moments later she ignores the winner's outstretched hand and jumps out of the ring obviously looking to vanish from London as soon as possible. This is a high-profile defeat for the world's best selling artist who just can't quite break her hard luck even on the other side of Atlantic - despite flashes of brilliance here and there. More importantly though Rochelle the Contender is back and ready to challenge for the divisional crowd some time next year. Two or three wins like that and she'll be right in the thick of things! She confirms to Georgie Thompson that her early defensive antics was pre-planned as she didn't quite believe she can knock Rihanna out proper and never inside the opening five rounds. One knockdown was enough though to underline her latter dominance and the popular gossip about Rihanna lacking a big punch was proved to be correct after all, she just couldn't put Humes down despite running away with the scorecards in the opening four rounds.
