BBU INTERNATIONAL INVADERS PPV

(Girls Friday vs Lioness Club)

BEFORE: It's been almost a year since Erika Heynatz last defended her welterweight title and with her focus switching over to America, Denise van Outen believes the Australian dominator will be forced to relinquish her straps by the BBU executives within days now. This almost certainly opens the door for a fresh start to all the welters who were choke-held into submission for so long. Catherine Tyldesley and Alex Curran are chief examples and both these girls now well into their 30s realize the time is running out for them especially if opponents like Leah Francis or Jourdan Dunn gain enough experience to block their title revival campaign in the near future.

Moreover Alex's days over in UK are numbered since her Liverpool FC legend husband Steven Gerrard has announced his move to the Major League Soccer in the summer and that means the time is truly against the shapely blonde model and only winning the BBU title might prevent her from taking an indefinite leave of absence. Denise van Outen calls this a dead heat while most of the fans in Cardiff just look for a juicy knockout finish allthough it will be hard to repeat the fireworks delivered by Mollie King and Dorota Rabczewska earlier tonight.

Catherine Tyldesley wears a white basque top with the red St. George's cross underneath her impressive rack, black knickers & gloves and red boots. Alex Curran wears an all red Liverpool FC styled basque top with matching knickers & gloves and silver boots. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the welterweight division.

Round 1:
The opening round is unusually cautious for BBU standards, either both women are too rusty or just too aware of the potential title prospects and it's the welterweight after all when one punch can make a huge difference; Alex tries to pummel through with single hands but only smacks Catherine's guard and avoids a similar response in slowish circles which even make Denise van Outen angry in the booth. Eventually Alex ignites some pace in the final minute but gets clinched and shoved away in a hectic struggle which pretty much was the most eventful thing inside the ropes and leaves the crowd jeering at the two blondes at the bell.

Round 2:
Alex seeks close range brawling after being ordered to do so by coach Gina Wild but Catherine thinks likewise and both women tangle with crisp overhands bouncing off each face; Catherine gets wobbled backwards but just out of Curran's range and the model loses her balance in a misjudged weight placement and eats a right hand on the nose as the actress escapes with a lucky punch to assume control moments later. Tyldesley triggers a looping head-snapping display to make the most of Curran's error and starts pounding her back to the ropes and blocks off a high response to slam more jabs against the cheeks and dismantle the model's guard all too easily for Gina Wild's liking. Alex has to clinch her foe to catch some respite but still gets shoved butt-in-ropes and this time Catherine switches low to gut-check the Merseyside girl and thump fine leather against her breadbasket to run away with the round.

Round 3:
Tyldesley jumps in pursuit of the model; beats her for a jabbing approach and snaps the head back to give the Curran's lips a sour taste after a nifty one-two bends her to the side and ignites more venom shortly thereafter. Catherine strikes over the top and finds both temples to open up a hole in the middle and drive an uppercut on the jaw that sags the Liverpool WAG on her heels... there comes the put away.... and it grazes the mitts and wobbles Catherine into her opponent who immediately wraps her arms around her and bumps off towards the turnbuckle where she slips into some navel whacking and shuts the actress cold to escape with a huge stroke of luck herself. More dismal clinching follows and leaves Tyldesley spitting out her guard in frustration at the bell over the glorious opportunity she fumbled.

Round 4:
Catherine's really mad over that easy put away she should have send Alex crashing down on her butt with but there's no chance of a quick repeat as the model jumps at her in full swinging mode and clips the jaw with a lightning fast uppercut, almost too quick to be true but it still wobbles the actress to the side. When she tries to outmanouver the model she moves into the left hand side and gets clobbered around the elbows to suddenly feel some proper gut pain and weaves around too slow to escape a looping hook crashing into her mouth moments later... "Aiii...", Tyldesley gurgles in more pain as Alex rips through her mouth and makes the actress bleed in a sudden shift of power... nothing like a good welter punch to spice the action up and Catherine realizes she needs to run for it but is planted on her heels and only eats a piercing right hand on the nose that shuts her eyes and has some blood dropping onto the front seats instead... she sags back on the ropes and goes all earmuffin' but Alex isn't accurate enough to send her down and reverts into fruitless bashing of the forearms leaving the exposed ribcage safe for whatever reason.

Round 5:
"C'mon, chop the schlampe down!", Gina Wild doesn't understand why Alex didn't whack Catherine's liver area and the Merseyside model realizes she's made a mistake going red mist mode in wake of that fat lip & bleeding she gave her opponent. Tyldesley tries to slow things down still feeling the effects of that horrible round and clinch the model but Alex finally slips around her elbows to punish the ribcage and wobble the aching actress into a proper switch upstairs. Tyldesley tries to soak up all the pressure and strikes from behind the guard, bounces off Curran's cheeks but is just that fraction off the pace and gets countered with a massive hook on the solar plexus after the model was setting up some gut punishment and rendered her rival frozen for good. Catherine's footwork really goes down the drain and she only bats against the forearms struggling to breath and runs out of gas well short of the clock, aches worryingly loud just a second before Alex wipes the sweat off her face with a clubbing one-two that tears the guard to shreds... "Aiiiiii", that's a long shriek from the actress WHO CRUMBLES ONTO HER SIDE moments later... Alex finds the all important hole and exposes Tyldesley's strenght woes... the actress makes a slow recovery but is back at seven wiping blood off her lips but she really looks tired already, her large breasts inhale oxygen overflow and Curran notices that too.. she jumps in at the aching woman and pummels her back to the ropes with ease, yet the expiring clock is Catherine's best friend right now and allows her to survive into half-distance.

Round 6:
Catherine hasn't recovered much energy during the break and the busted up lip looks really bad too; Alex gives her no sympathy whatsoever and traps her with a jabbing frenzy in the center of the ring before galloping more leather on the ribcage and just removing the fighting spirit out of a clearly out of shape blonde... Curran thumps unanswered leather and pierces the rack to the point Tyldesley closes her eyes and just gurgles her heart out and JUST SLIDES ON HER KNEES on the minute mark looking utterly spend... she beats the count at eight but needs to lean back against the ropes and still groans right into the referee's face who realizes she won't make it past another leather frenzy from the Liverpool WAG... he calls the bout on the spot and escorts a bleeding and chest aching actress back to her stool. TKO6 Alex Curran!!!

AFTER: Catherine just wasn't ready for more than six rounds here tonight and quite frankly the missed knockdown chance in the third was pivotal to her subsequent demise. One has to wonder about her training regime leading up to this fight and even when the Erika Heynatz rumours were spread on short notice, one has to be ready whenever an opportunity presents itself. And Catherine was far from ready to endure more than one bad round which crushed her physically and allowed Alex to secure a comfortable stoppage.

However was this good enough from the busty model to warrant her title chances? Denise van Outen thinks not and points at Karen Gillian or Gemma Atkinson for further evaluation. Even being Steven Gerrard's wife cuts you zero ice from the BBU TV headmaster!

Final result: Alex Curran def. Catherine Tyldesley TKO6.
