TESS VALMORE

Here is my much maligned top ten lightweight and welters which is done after every other PPV. I remind readers that we have a strict must fight 90 day or three PPV’s which ever is longer rule, to stay ranked. While we are aware of victory strings, we consider the level of competition a fighter has faced to be more important

LIGHTWEIGHTS

1. KATY PERRY The champ made her second successful title defense beating Helfer

2, YVONNE STRAHOVSKI We seriously considered making her number one. Won a hard fought bout over Cole in the last PPV

3. GEMMA ARTERTON Stays at three after her KO of Gonzalez at the March Asylum. Like to see her move up the food chain for future opponents

4.MISSY PEREGRYM On a five fight win streak. Last fought in February

5, ODETTE YUSTMAN. Had a six fight win streak broken in February in an upset loss to Kerr, however she stays at ix

6. ANNA TORV Won five of her last six, her lone loss was to Strahovski. Defeated Bowden in the last Asylum card

7. JENNIFER LAWRENCE Won over Sabrina Washington in February

8. DANIELA RUAH Moves into the top ten for the first time. Although she lost a welter title bout to Regan in the last PPV, she has mostly fought as a lightweight. Had won eight straight before the Regan bout

9. KALEY CUOCO Stays in the rankings with a KO of Jennifer Garner in the last PPV

10. MARY ELIZABETH WINSTEAD. Beat Joanne Kelly in last PPV, Moves in to fill the void left by Palicki and Nichols

WHO COULD BE IN THE TOP TEN

ADRIANNE PALICKI. Out for inactivity Last fought was in December. She was number seven in our last rankings

RACHEL NICHOLS Out for inactivity Last fought in December. She was at eight in our last rankings

ERICA DURANCE. Has won seven of her last eight however she fought only once last year. She won a fight in February, however we need to see more activity from her before moving her up

BROOKLYN DECKER We have her ranked in the welterweights

ADRIANA LIMA Last fought in January. Defeated Theron 2-1 in the best of three. Her loss to Theron cost her more than the two wins gained

WELTERWEIGHTS

Despite all the handwringing and promises to do better, the welters remain the step child of the FCBA. The problem is activity. Few are active. Many haven’t had a fight in over a year or more.. As far as I am concerned, if you want to be ranked, you got to fight. We have a ninety day rule for a champion. so why not for a ranked fighter? We will not list fighters like Keibler who as has one fight in five years and lost it, just to have another name for the ranking. Also we will not rank a fighter in more than one division. We will rank her in the division in which she fights most of the time. Mr Vassago has a welter tournament coming up. Maybe we will be able to add a name

1. BRIDGET REGAN She is the champ and on a six fight win streak. Defeated Ruah in the March PPV

2, CASSIDY FREEMAN Has won seven of her last eight against top competition

3. KATE UPTON. Back in the rankings because she fought beating Torrie Wilson in the last PPV

4, LEELEE SOBIESKI Is on a six fight win streak. Needs to step up in competition

5, MANDY MOORE Lost the welter title in January

6. BROOKLYN DECKER Has won five of he last seven however some of her competition has been on the light side

WHO COULD POSSIBLY BE RANKED IF THEY WERE ACTIVE

AMANDA RIGHETTI Probably number two Last fought in November

KATRINA LAW. Last fought in September. Could well be in the top five

MOON BLOODGOOD Last fought in September

GENA LEE NOLIN Last fought in November

BIANCA KAJLICH One fight a year doesn’t do it

NADIA BJORLIN Hasn’t fought in two years

MILENA GOVICH Hasn’t fought in 21 months

TAYLOR COLE Fights at lightweight also. Lost three straight. Has better chance at Welter
