It’s been a quiet break out year for Simpsy in the ring. She finally separated herself from Rachel Stevens after a bruising series if bouts forced the Brit to cry uncle. Simpson KO’d favoured journeywoman Alyson Hannigan and repeated the feat with a stunning dismissal of heavily favoured Alyssa Milano. So with a little momentum behind her, Simpsy finally caught a break, getting a fight she’s expected to win, against dependable Holly Marie

For 5 rounds, this was a back and forth barn burner that although crowd pleasing, often looked amateurish, even foxy at times. Standing up all, pushing lefts and rights at one another’s faces, the girls slugged and bumped into each other, doing little damage with poorly leveraged, pushed punches, but making up for the lack of form with sheer enthusiasm. Combs was able to survive in this kind of fight, getting into rhythms that allowed her to scrub Jessica’s face and breasts, back the blonde up and outhustle her if never really hurting the blonde.

But down the stretch, Simpson’s superior conditioning prevailed, and as the pace slowed, becoming more professional, Jessica showed the punching form that had discouraged the likes of Milano and Hannigan. Hard body shots I the sixth had Combs crumpling, not punching back. Shutout rounds began to crop up---Holly just unable to match the blonde’s work rate any loner, brunette covering up and lolling on the ropes as Jessi worked her ribcage. Chin music in the 8^th had the crowd roaring and Combs wandering away, even turning her back in a daze as a happy blonde hopped her down, the final two rounds would be totally onesided, with Jessica showing terrific killer instinct in climbing into Holly’s trunks, pressing her to the topes and working her over with two fisted chugging to the final bell, Simpsy doesn’t get the whack, but she wins a ton of rounds, builds her confidence and looks to be emerging as a pretty blonde force at 110.
