Vanessa’s been written off more times than the three martini lunch, but she’s still forgotten more about boxing than many FCBA’ers will ever know. Nicolette Sheridan came into this fight looking for a showcase and instead took a savage beating from a fired up, motivated and fit Williams/

Williams hung back in the first two rounds, luring Nicolette forward, slipping and rolling blonde aggression as Sheridan clanged away two handed. Each round was stolen late by judicious, selective, and hurtful Williams counterpunching—deft right hands out of a screened, closed stance finding the Sheridan chin—sturdy mop-up applied to Nicolette’s waist as strong blonde covered up stunned and sponging.

With Sheridan rocked and confused—Vanessa surged over to offense in the third, backing Nicolette to the ropes and pounding her waistline in earnest. This was good old fashioned South Beach Shellack—Williams bumping off with her shoulders, setting down and licking Sheridan’s ribs and tummy meat brutally with both dukes, breaking the blonde down further and leaving her vulnerable to short-shrugging uppercuts at close range. Wide eyed, open mouthed—Nicolette staggered to her stool for a panicky, inept stream of misinformation from her corner and in the fourth, Vanessa Williams closed the the show style.

Sheridan pushed out leather hanging a for-sale sign on her chin in the process, and the consummate professional Williams would take ringing advantage. Blistering rights and lefts—delivered as Vanessa bent deeply side to side to combine offence with defence—bashed off either Sheridan jawline as rugged blonde trudged forward. It was all simply back to walk Nicolette in, Vanessa leaned onto her front (left) foot to pull a clanging ring onto Sheridan’s staring face, then schmoozed onto the back (right) foot to sling a healthy hook across the chin, and Sheridan went out on her feet. Big blonde timberrrrrr sprawled Nicolette face first at Vanessa’s feet—testament to Williams’ still impressive power and judgement in the squared circle.
