Blake Lively (5'10” 27 yo Tarzana, CA, 34C-25-36) v Elisabetta Canalis (5'7” 36 yo, Sardinia, 34C-24-35)
Result:Lookout; Writing:simgrrl

Before: Lively, eager to get her first Academy victory, immediately accepting the contract offered by an Italian agent reportedly on Elisabetta Canalis' behalf. Canalis looking to break out in North America after garnering a publicity coup by dating Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney for several years before (depending on who's publicist you believe) she dumped him or he dumped her. Doesn't matter to Lively who figures if Clooney can dump Elisabetta, she can too!
“The last great Italian fighter was Sophia Loren and that was like, 50 years ago. Since then the cupboard has been bare with the exception of a few actresses who won a couple of fights in Hollywood then ran back to Italy where the competition isn't as strenuous.”
Canalis, who has some training as a kick-boxer, dismissed Lively with a backhanded flick of her wrist. “This tall blond girl I will break like a spaghetti straw,” she says, snapping her fingers. “I watch her last two fights and fall asleep they are boring so. She have no power, no legs, no....how you say (she cups her hands and holds them to her chest)...taa-taa's?” When translated for her, she corrects herself, blushingly, “Ah...yes...boob-booms. She is really lacking in her boobs, no? She must be a very good actress to work so much with so little...up here (she cupped her own full, firm, breasts). In Italia, we throw 'minnows' back, are only keeping grown up womens.”
Lively in electric blue bikini, hair in a tight braid, black gloves and boots; Canalis in soft tawny, furry, bikini, red gloves, black shoes. Hair in a short wedge cut.
Referee for the bout is Hall of Fame fighter, Pam Grier.
* * * *
During R1: Blake, unfamiliar with Canalis, taking her time engaging; circling to size up the limber Italian siren, popping her jab in Elisabetta's (Liz's) face from long range. The younger blonde moving gracefully, frustrating Liz's frequent attempts to get to her body by slipping away untouched. Euro-brunette getting frustrated and finally lowers her head and charges, grabbing Blake around the waist and spinning her around, throwing her against the ropes. Lively bouncing off, taking a hard right to the midsection, letting out an unladylike “WOOF” of air as she doubles over. Now it's Canalis' turn to punch, taking it to Blake's belly, doing some vigorous piston-punching with both fists. Blake grabs Liz's shoulders and spins them both around like a Dancing With The Stars contestant, then skips away to center ring to catch her breath. Liz pursuing, but Blake's left demands respect and respect she gets as the brunette skids to a stop as Lively's left flattens her nose! A right to the side of Canalis' neck sends her reeling and Blake follows up with another left to the face, keeping the Italian in retreat mode. The final minute of the round is all Blake Lively as she gets up on Canalis' and works her with professional skill, pounding her from hips to tits along the ropes for the final twenty seconds to the bell. Judges see it much as your narrator did, giving Lively the round “easily.”

R2: Canalis learned a lot about Lively in the first and she puts that knowledge to good use in the second. Instead of coming straight into Blake, Liz' instead takes a diagonal approach, coming at her from one side or the other, forcing Lively to move in the direction she (Canalis) dictates. It makes the Euro-babe's job a lot easier, knowing where Lively's limber torso will be and she finds it with regularity this round. Blake forced to fight moving backward, not able to get much on her punches with her weight back rather than coming forward. Elisabetta comfortable in the role of dictator, looking far smoother with her combinations than before; touching up Blake's face and by the end of the round, there's a slight discoloration on Lively's left eyebrow which is bruised from Canalis' right hand. Much like Blake in the first round, Elisabetta, by dictating the pace, wins the second round (easily).

R3: Lively making an adjustment as Canalis bores in from her left, turning her hips and switching to southpaw, pushing her right in Liz's face and then sweeping her right across Elisabetta's breasts. The Italian doesn't appreciate the attention her goodies are getting from Lively and she returns tit for tat. Both women are overcome by 'jugg lust' momentarily; standing in the center of the ring and swinging away at each other's 'womanly curves' with mean-spirited intention. After each woman's 'pride and joys' have been pancaked several times, however, they come to their senses and return to boxing. (Fans of JMD groan in disappointment at the Marquis of Queensbury's reappearance, though Tess Valmore is heard to heave a huge sigh of relief.) Lively switches back rightie and with it, her jab makes its comeback as well. The women fight on more/less even terms for the remainder of the round, but in the closing seconds, Canalis lands a hard right hand that makes Lively stutter-step. Liz follows with a good left hook to the body at the bell. The round is close, evenly fought, but Canalis' early aggression and a couple of solid connects do enough to win the round by the narrowest of margins for a 2-1 lead.

R4: The Academy corner in Blake's face between rounds - and it works! She comes out firing on all cylinders with both fists. Early going a rough couple of minutes for Elisabetta Canalis; she's caught time and again by Lively left hooks - Lively's best weapon tonight! Second minute, Liz rocked by Blake's deadly left hook; turtles; gives up the body. Blake wide-eyed with possibilities, digging into that lush Italian pasta-fed midsection - con gusto! Canalis driven back; butt-stuffed in the ropes; hanging on for all she's worth. In the Italian's corner, Liz's BFF, Maddalena Corvaglia, on her feet yelling, urging her girlfriend, “COMBATTERE, VOI CAGNA DURA!” Uppercut! Canalis' knees buckle; she clinches; desperately hanging onto Lively who struggles futilely to break free. Their feet tangle and they fall, Canalis on top of Lively. They writhe and wrestle on the mat until Pam Grier grabs Canalis' ankles and drags her off of Lively. Both women scramble to their feet, faces ruddy, chests heaving. Grier holds them apart, gives them both a “stern warning” - which Canalis either ignores or perhaps doesn't even understand. When Grier waves them together, Liz drills Blake with a hard right while Lively was extending her left hand to 'touch gloves'. Infuriated by the violation of 'good sportsmanship' Blake attacks Canalis with mindless fury. Left. Right. Left Hook. Overhand Right. Left hook to the bra. Right cross to the jaw! Elisabetta is on the ropes...she's ready to go! IT'S ALL OH..... There's the bell. Canalis is saved by the bell! Huge round for Blake Lively not only evens the cards at two rounds each, it's gotta put her ahead in the points scoring too!

R5: Elisabetta Canalis fighting like a women who knows she's in trouble! Still reeling from Lively's closing barrage, Liz trying to even the playing field. Coming straight up the middle against Lively's active defense, Canalis puts Blake on her heels, attacking her lithe, slender, body with red-eyed fury. Canalis lands a big right hand that has Lively hanging on; a left hook to the chest that almost rips Blake's electric blue bikini top in two. Lively fighting back desperately and DOWN GOES CANALIS!
Elisabetta Canalis caught by a left hook/right cross combination and drops like a stone! Grier shoos Blake to a neutral corner as Canalis writhes around on her belly, then struggles to all fours. Blinking back tears, Liz tries to get to her feet, but as she rises, her right leg buckles and she drops back on all fours. She just barely makes it to her feet at nine and Lively quickly moves in to finish. Two or three punches rock the defenseless brunette along the ropes and Pam Grier has no choice but to jump in and bundle Canalis away. Winner by TKO5, Blake Lively.

After: At ringside, George Clooney and wife Amal rise applauding Blake's victory. Amal gives Blake a 'thumbs up' and blows her a congratulatory kiss as Blake ends the night of one of George's many ex-girlfriends as Elisabetta slumps in the arms of referee Grier. Across the ring behind Canalis' corner, Stacy Keibler stands hands-on-hips in a tight cropped top and micro-skirt. Like Amal, Stacy's pleased to witness the failure of her predecessor as George's 'go-to eye candy.' Stacy studying Blake; eyeing her up and down like she's considering making her own run at the tall, willowy, blonde.

Later, facing the press, Lively up-beat, dismissing Canalis' as, “...just another Italian who thinks curves equal talent. After a couple of rounds feeling her out,” Blake boasted, “I knew she was going to be easy pickin's. I almost got her in the fourth, then she folded pretty quick when I teed off on her in the fifth. When she went down I knew she wouldn't last. Frankly, I'm surprised she got up at all.”

Asked who's next, Blake shrugged. “They'll tell me who they want me to fight. I don't have a 'bucket list' like some girls, I take things one fight at a time.”

When Tractorpull asked about her relationship with her former manager, Jeri Ryan, Blake shrugged. “We're good. She's been very supportive of The Academy making a few tweaks to my technique. I could really feel a difference when I hit Elisabetta in the fourth round. Sent shivers all the way down my body,” she grinned, caressing her torso to demonstrate - or perhaps she was simply reliving the sweet sensation one more time!

Canalis looking surprisingly battered for someone who lasted a little more than four rounds; her left eye swollen closed and her lower lip dripping blood as she held an ice pack to it. “They didn't tell me she was this good,” Elisabetta pouted prettily. “She hit hard and move better than in film. I don't like blondes fighters so much any more.

“I think I should come to America sooner than I do,” she said, indirectly excusing her lackluster performance. “She's good fighter, but many better in Italia...lots better. I invite her to visit, we can play in my city, by my rules. I show her something...I think.”

Then she turned and stalked angrily off the stage, leaving the media and her handlers open-mouthed and stunned.
