BEFORE:

"It's great to get another FCBA fight," says Roxanne with a sexy smile. "I know it didn't go well the last time, but I have the goods to compete here, and I'll prove that by beating Graham tonight."

"You know," says Kat with a shake of the head, "I'm getting a little tired of hearing how I'm a flop and going to be sent packing any minute now. I'm getting tired of every indie fly in the FCBA talking about taking my job. In fact, I'm getting p**sed off. And I'm going to take some of that anger out on Roxanne's ugly face!"

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Second half of the card getting underway and a not-so-subtle message being sent here. That's 'Wanna Say' and that means the singer of that tune, Kat Graham, is on her way to the ring first..."

Cassie: "We've seen this before, Jenny, and, again, there's no reason for Kat to come down first. Roxanne's never beaten Kat, she didn't win at Asylum last time out, because she's never been here before. She's not the champion. So, there's only one reason she'd get the honors, and it's definitely Uncle Wiz's way of sending a message about exactly where Kat is at Front Street at the moment..."

O'Dell: "Graham wasting no time getting to the ring. Hops in. Helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve to reveal that yellow number she likes, and that's 'Smooth Criminal' by Alien Ant Farm and here comes Kear's Kats' own Roxanne Pallett..."

McCarthy: "A typical Dancing Hooker opponent. One FCBA win!"

Tess: "To be fair, she's only had two FCBA fights..."

McCarthy: "And she lost one...to Underwood, who's a disgrace to the term 'Boxing Playmate'!"

O'Dell: "Pallett into the ring, helped off with the robe by the Kear's Kats korner krew to reveal an aqua blue two piece that has the crowd buzzing, and it's time for some picks. Tess favors Kat. Mac?"

McCarthy: "As much as I'd love to see Graham lose and be fired in the middle of the ring, even SHE can beat somebody who lost to Underwood!"

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess!"

O'Dell: "And, here we go, and we've quickly got a war of movement, as both fighters make with the feet, jab and move, slip and dip, plenty of dancing, snappy little lefts, head bobs, both fighters popping forward for quick flurries..."

Cassie: "None of this is any surprise. Both of these girls have shown they can move very well and both like to fight on their toes and use their legs."

O'Dell: "But Graham proving to be the quicker of the two in the early going. Kat beating Roxanne to spots, beating her to punches, putting together big flurries that are throwing Pallett onto the defensive, forcing her to cover up. Graham bouncing, angling, getting off with both hands. This is very good stuff from the Front Street fly..."

Tess: "This is the kind of thing we've seen from her in the past, the kind of ability Front Street thinks she has..."

McCarthy: "Just like Weirdo thought Spears, Jr, Lavigne, Seyfried, Scherzinger, all his failed fighters, had ability. He was wrong then, and he's wrong now."

O'Dell: "Couldn't tell that by what's happening in the ring. Graham powdering Pallett's face. She's in a nice rhythm early, getting punches home from various angles, scoring with a high percentage of her shot, using those dancer's legs to great effect. Final seconds of the first run off, and it's an excellent start for Kat Graham."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second now and Graham is here, there, and everywhere. She's on her bicycle and on a mission, and, if you don't mind my saying so, Cassandra Lynn, she's looking an awful lot like a blonde flyweight sitting at this table..."

Cassie: "There's a certain similarity in style, no doubt. And I have no doubt it's intentional."

O'Dell: "Pallett again on the defensive, working in counter, covering up, getting suppressed by the speed and THERE'S A RIGHT HAND ROXY AND GRAHAM IS WOBBLED..."

McCarthy: "THAT was a perfect counter. Couldn't have timed it better. Put that through a keyhole!"

O'Dell: "And everything changes just like that. Graham covering up and Pallett all in. Roxy winging away with both hands. She backs Kat into the ropes and thumps body as the Front Streeter keeps the guard high..."

McCarthy: "Needs to forget body and get the finisher here!"

O'Dell: "She's looking for that, too, Mac, and it's good, sound stuff, nothing sloppy from Pallett. Setting up punches, getting hard leather home, looking for the 'off' switch, but not going to find it. Final seconds tick away and there's the bell. Wow. What a turnabout by Pallett!"

Tess: "All even at 19, but the momentum is in the Kear's Kats korner."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Back to action in the third and we're seeing a flat-footed Kat Graham..."

Cassie: "This is what she did against Song, but, this time, I don't think it's a choice. The legs aren't all the way back, and I'm not surprised. That counter Pallett landed was as good a punch as she's likely to throw. Graham did well to stay on her feet."

O'Dell: "You may be right, Cassie. Kat giving ground in front of Pallett. Roxanne fighting lead, squaring up the younger woman, backing her up with solid shot. Roxy plenty mobile, as we said earlier, but not having to use any of that now. She's just walking forward and getting leather home."

Tess: "Graham banging back, scoring plenty in her own right. Using movement of the head and hands in lieu of the legs to force Roxanne to work to find the target, but the veteran's finding it more often than not."

O'Dell: "She is at that, but so is Graham. This is just about the polar opposite of what we saw in the first, as we have set piece battles going on instead of the war of movement. Both fighters landing good stuff. Graham's quicker hands offsetting the fact that Pallett is moving better. Nip and tuck stuff right to the bell. Roxanne's round, but close."

McCarthy: "And Pallett now leads 29-28."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth begins on the same terms on which the third ended. Graham flat-footed. Pallett wanting to press the fight, come forward. Kat willing to give a little ground, engage in a fighting retreat."

Cassie: "I'm wondering if Graham still doesn't have the legs or if she's just comfortable fighting on these terms right now. She did well enough last round, but this wouldn't seem to be her best option."

O'Dell: "Again, though, we've seen this before against Song. Not sure if we're seeing it again now. What we are seeing, however, is excellent back-and-forth action. Graham still giving ground, but she's not all counter anymore. Instead she's getting off first at times..."

Tess: "It's the hand speed we've talked about. Roxanne far from slow, far from unathletic, but even she can't match Graham's quickness."

O'Dell: "And that's beginning to tell as this round goes on. Kat beating Roxy to punches now, starting to throw her back to the defensive and to get the better of things in the exchanges. Pallett still getting hers, but she's not getting as many as Kat is. Final seconds slip into the books and there's the bell. Another close one, but Kat's."

McCarthy: "All even at 38. Turning into a pretty good fight."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth round and Pallett looking to turn up the heat a bit. She got slowed down on the advance last round by Kat's hand speed, but now she's gettig more aggressive, getting off quicker and keeping the flurries going..."

McCarthy: "Got a talking to in the corner, no doubt. And, unlike Graham, she listened."

O'Dell: "Kat still flat-footed as she has been since taking that perfect counter in the second round. She's countering well, again using that excellent hand speed. Also moving the head, rolling the shoulders, giving Pallett a tough target, but Roxanne impressing a bit here..."

Cassie: "I like what I'm seeing. She's got good hands. She's accurate. She knows what she's doing in there."

O'Dell: "And she's taken the initiative back from Graham with good, precision punching and controlled aggression. Kat again fighting in retreat. Very little use of the feet or legs. Flat-footed in front of Roxy, using the dip, dodge and counter, but it's Roxanne who's calling the tune down the stretch, getting the better of the exchanges to the bell. Good, competitive round, but Pallett close."

Tess: "48-47 for Roxy at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "We begin the sixth with Graham doing a 180 and getting back on her bicycle. Kat now looking like the Graham of the first round. She's on her toes, bouncing, jabbing, feinting, making Roxy chase, and then powdering her face as she does so..."

Cassie: "I was wondering when we were going to see more of this version of Kat. She was very effective doing this in the first, again, despite how mobile and quick Pallett is."

O'Dell: "And she's plenty effective doing it now. Kat's fighting lead in a big way, picking up Roxanne as Pallett tries to cut the ring. Graham roaming free on the outside, snapping that left, stopping, popping, then slipping away before Roxanne can respond..."

Tess: "As our former Commissioner once said of Katy Perry, who, of course, had the tools to be a boxer/puncher but started out as much more of a brawler, what you're seeing now is the Kat Graham they talk about in the Front Street brochures..."

O'Dell: "And you can see WHY they talk about this Kat Graham. Again, she bears a striking resemblance to one of the most athletic flyweights in the FCBA, the one sitting here at the table with me. Pallett very mobile, very quick, but she's a step off and a fraction of a second too late on everything. Pallett again spending a lot of time covering up as Graham bounces in, gets off a nice flurry, then slips a response and slides away. Final seconds rolling off the clock and there's the bell to end the sixth. Best round of the night for Graham."

McCarthy: "And we're even at 57."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We begin the seventh with Graham bouncing around the ring on her toes. The Front Streeter getting that lightning quick snapping jab on target. Pallett resolute, however. She's stalking, getting the guard up, bobbing the head, looking to cut and close, bring Graham to those set piece battles we saw in earlier rounds..."

McCarthy: "Pallett making a good adjustment here with the high guard. She's keeping moving, picking off some of Graham's jabs, getting past her glove so that she can engage..."

O'Dell: "And it's brutal, two-way stuff when she does. Just like we saw in rounds two through five, both girls scoring, both showing solid defense, using the movement of the head, hands and shoulders to slip, pick, dodge. Graham slipping away now, back to the dance and jab. Pallett working forward AND GETS WOBBLED BY A RIGHT HAND! Roxanne staggered, Graham a HUGE flurry and DOWN GOES PALLETT! Roxanne slumps face first to the mat under a barrage of punches..."

Cassie: "Three or four really good ones connected in there..."

O'Dell: "Count at three. Four. Five. Foxy Roxy unmoving. Six. Seven...."

Cassie: "It's over."

O'Dell: "Nine. TEN! It IS over. Pallett still down as the count passes her by, and your winner by KO7 is 'The Liberian Lynx', Kat Graham!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Kat Graham, and, Kat, tell me..."

Kat: "I don't know why you're talking to me, Tess. I mean, I'm a flop, right? Everybody knows that..."

Tess: "Talk to me about the strategy..."

Kat: "I mean, I'm not good enough to beat anybody. Me going twelve with Hayden was just a fluke. I'm not the next Scerbo, I'm the next Avril Lavigne. So, there's no point in anyone interviewing me, since I'm on my way out of Front Street and onto the scrap heap. But, you know what, Tess? I just might WRECK a few bytches on my way out. You never can tell."
