BEFORE:

"It's about TIME I get a chance at a fight in the FCBA," says Helen with a smile. "I don't think the fans will be disappointed with what they see in the disrobe...or after."

"If I hear one more person say this should be a JMD fight, I'm going to knock somebody OUT," says Kat with a shake of the head. "Then again, either way, I'm going to knock somebody out."

ROUND ONE:

O'Dell: "Back at ringside..."

McCarthy: "What in the world is THAT noise?"

Tess: "IF you read the prep material..."

Cassie: "Here's the part where Mac says she doesn't read the 'propaganda' from Uncle Wiz..."

McCarthy: "HERE'S THE PART WHERE I GIVE YOU A BLACK EYE, SCABBO!"

O'Dell: "Now, calm DOWN, Mac. And, that song is 'Gorgeous Baby' by The Neo-Kalashnikovs, and the lady coming down to ringside is the star of that video, Kear's Kats' Helen Flanagan!"

Cassie: "Flanagan making her FCBA debut tonight, as she mentioned, but has experience in the BBU and has done OK for herself there."

O'Dell: "Helen into the ring and helped off with the robe by the Kear's Kats corner to reveal a white and gold bikini..."

Tess: "And a body that would have Hef reaching for the check book..."

McCarthy: "She's got the curves to make the magazine...might even get a Playmate of the Month..."

O'Dell: "And that's 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing' by Scissor Sisters, and here comes another girl with Playmate curves, Kat 'The Rack' Dennings!"

McCarthy: "Too bad that ugly FACE would rule her out. 'Penthouse' might use a girl like her, but not Hef..."

O'Dell: "Dennings down the aisle and into the ring to be helped off with the robe by Jewel and Neve, and there's that black two-piece she likes and we DO have some serious curves in the ring at the moment, no question about that. Time for some picks. Tess favors Kat. Mac?"

McCarthy: "Dennings will never amount to anything because she's trained by Campbell. Flanagan."

O'Dell: "Cassie?"

Cassie: "I agree with Tess..."

McCarthy: "Big surprise..."

O'Dell: "And, there's the bell. Some movement from both fighters early. No dancing and bouncing like we saw in the last fight, but both girls moving the feet, angling, moving the head and shoulders, looking to close and get the hands moving. Dennings steps in and goes body, and Flanagan responds in kind..."

Cassie: "I wouldn't be surprised to see a LOT of body work in this one. Both girls are sturdy, hard hitters who like to bang body."

O'Dell: "And, almost on cue, that's where this round begins to go, both fighters lathering the lats, baging the ribs, thumping the flanks. Both fighters using an down and up strategy, working body, up to the head, then back down. Both fighters efficient in here, landing a good percentage..."

McCarthy: "Good defense going on in there, too. Lots of head movement, hands moving, rolling with..."

O'Dell: "Good foot movement, too, sliding, angling, but it's close-in grinding stuff and a lot of leather is finding the mark. Thirty seconds to go and both fighters digging hard as we come down the stretch. Dennings backs Flanagan up with a solid right and there's the bell. Good round. Dennings."

Tess: "And it never hurts to get that 10-9 edge."

ROUND TWO:

O'Dell: "Into the second now and we're back to close quarters. Both women want to work inside, banging body. Lots of hooks being exchanged, and, again, neither fighter ignoring the upstairs, both working their way up and back down again."

McCarthy: "And, when fighters invest in body early, it can pay dividends late. You can take a fighter's legs that way, wear her out, grind her down..."

O'Dell: "Not sure if that's the plan on either side here, or if it's just body work for the sake of keeping the opponent honest, but, whatever the reason, a lot of leather is thumping flesh in the second, and both fighters are landing good shot upstairs as well."

Cassie: "This is really good stuff from both girls right here. Good defense, putting punches together offensively. Nothing not to like."

O'Dell: "And nothing for the fans not to like, either, as there's plenty of action. Both fighters landing a good percentage of punches, and both holding ground in the face of determined offensive firepower. We're into the final seconds and the fighters not slowing down. Good, back and forth battle right to the bell. Dennings again."

Tess: "And Kat has a 20-18 lead."

ROUND THREE:

O'Dell: "Third round begins and both fighters plenty happy with the terms. Right back to work in close quarters. Heads bobbing, shoulders rolling, hands moving, and, above all, fists finding the mark, mostly to the body..."

Cassie: "Some of our viewers, who may not be familiar with Flanagan, may be surprised how well she's able to stand in there with Dennings, who's as sturdy a bantam as you're likely to find in the FCBA. But, we've seen a lot of BBU video, and it's not surprising at all. This girl comes from the Hazell/Pinder mode. She can bang with anyone."

O'Dell: "She's certainly looking it at the moment. Dennings, though, not shying away from Flanagan and her power. Standing right in there and giving as good as she gets. Both girls more than willing to take some to give some..."

Tess: "And, the way this pair is built, we may not be looking at a war of attrition. We might be able to go all night without one of these bodies breaking down..."

O'Dell: "Neither showing any signs of doing so at this point. Kat a NASTY uppercut right there. Backed Helen up a step, but Flanagan fires right back, landing a couple of good shots in a counter flurry. Five seconds to go in the third. One last exchange and there's the bell. Close. Flanagan."

McCarthy: "And she's avoided that dreaded three-point hole. 29-28 after three."

ROUND FOUR:

O'Dell: "Fourth underway and we're back to the grind. Both fighters working in close, hooking head and body. Both working hard, keeping up a steady flow of leather..."

McCarthy: "Amazingly few clinches in quarters this tight. Nobody tying up. Both fighters just punching free of any entanglements."

O'Dell: "And both landing hard shot and HELEN ROCKS KAT WITH A LEFT UPPERCUT! Best punch of the fight comes from Flanagan and Dennings wobbled. Helen quickly to work backing Kat up, going away from body now and concentrating upstairs..."

Cassie: "No question she's looking for the finisher here..."

O'Dell: "Dennings up against the ropes, keeping the guard high, rolling the head and shoulders, countering in spots. Flanagan bashing away at the guard, trying to find an opening for a punch that will shut the lights out. Not happening, though. Dennings hanging in as the final seconds tick away and there's the bell. Flanagan's round wide."

Tess: "But Dennings survives it, and we're all tied at 38."

ROUND FIVE:

O'Dell: "Fifth begins with more aggression from Helen, who's looking to consolidate the gains from last round, but Flanagan's advances immediately stopped by Dennings, who nails her with a couple of hard right hands. Helen fires back and we're right back in the phone booth."

Cassie: "Kat got those legs back quickly, Jenny."

O'Dell: "No question about it, and she's providing spirited resistance that's stopped Helen's offensive. The result is that we're back to the two-way, close in grinding of the first three rounds. Both ladies turning shoulders to get power into those hooks. Both moving the hands, heads, and feet, angling, sliding, but, most of all, BANGING."

McCarthy: "I guess there's some art to this kind of thing. I preferred the sweeter science of true boxing, not this interior stuff..."

O'Dell: "Ladies using those shoulders to bump, create a bit of space for short hooks to the body. There's head on shoulder stuff going on as we come down the stretch. Both fighters doing much more body work as the round goes on, until we've gotten to almost all body in the final seconds. There's the bell. Close. Flanagan."

Tess: "So, if we're right, and we've had a couple of close ones, Helen's now up 48-47 at the half."

ROUND SIX:

O'Dell: "We are right back to work in the sixth, and not much changing. Rarely see a fight where the terms are so solid for so long, but both fighters clearly happy where they are, and neither making many adjustments."

McCarthy: "If what you're doing is what you want to do and it's working, stick with it. Really, neither fighter has a reason to change much."

O'Dell: "The up down and up again pattern being worked by both girls. Lots of work in the ribs and the midsection when they're downstairs. Plenty of solid leather landing to the heads and faces as well..."

Cassie: "And a lot of bantams would be wearing down by now. Both bodies have taken a load of punishment. Both girls have landed a lot of good stuff upstairs...but these are two very sturdy bantams."

O'Dell: "No question of that. Taking the proverbial lickings but having no problem continuing to tick. Dennings getting off a little more with the short uppie as we head down the stretch. She's backed Flanagan up a step with it a couple of times, but Helen steps right back in and goes right back to work. The two brunettes bang it out right to the bell. Dennings close."

Tess: "And we're even at 57. Heck of a fight so far."

ROUND SEVEN:

O'Dell: "We begin the seventh with both ladies upping the aggression a bit. We're still in the phone booth, thumping away, body, head, body, but the fighters increasing tempo and getting a little more on shots."

McCarthy: "Both have probably been told by their corners that this thing is close. Looking to get some separation now..."

O'Dell: "And Dennings may be starting to do that. She's backing Flanagan up consistently for the first time, working that short uppie, following on upstairs instead of down. She's getting Helen on the defensive now, putting together good flurries."

Tess: "Kat showing a bit more weight of shot than Helen right now, and that's a first in this fight, because Flanagan's shown every bit as much power as Kat to this point."

O'Dell: "Dennings appears to have had a little more in reserve, and she's bringing that to bear now. Helen in retreat, a slow, fighting retreat, but retreat nonetheless. Kat working more head than she has at any other point in the fight, picking Flanagan up some now, slowly taking canvas from the lovely Brit as we come to the final seconds. There's the bell. Excellent round for Dennings, who's now grabbed the lead."

Cassie: "67-66 with three to go."

ROUND EIGHT:

O'Dell: "Eighth round underway now and Dennings looking to consolidate, much like Flanagan did back in the fifth, but, again, not happening. Kat getting spirited resistance from Helen, who's fighting bitterly to hold canvas..."

Cassie: "You know, you hear about some European fighters who have good boxing skills but lack physicality. Well, Helen's from another mold, the one that spit out girls like Hazell, Pinder, and Arterton. She's PLENTY physical..."

O'Dell: "No doubt about it. She's trading on even terms with Kat again and there's that uppie from Dennings! She backs Flanagan up, follows with a right hand...AND HELEN DROPS KAT TO HER KNEES WITH A RIGHT HOOK!"

McCarthy: "GREAT punch from Flanagan. Timed it beautifully!"

O'Dell: "Referee's count at three. Four. Five. Six. Dennings to her feet at seven. Referee gives her the mandatory and waives Helen forward. Flanagan going all in immediately! She's winging away with both hands, backing Dennings into the ropes. Kat covering up, trying to jab back in spots, but mostly suppressed by the sheer volume coming from Helen..."

Tess: "Flanagan emptying the magazines, Jenny. Going to do everything she can to finish this thing..."

O'Dell: "And Helen lands a hard right that wobbles Kat! Flanagan throwing everything but the kitchen sink at Dennings. GOOD right hand by the Brit and THAT'S IT! Referee stepping in! Dennings protesting, but it's over! And your winner by TKO8 is Helen Flanagan!"

AFTER:

O'Dell: "Let's go up to the ring and Tess Valmore!"

Tess: "I have our winner, Helen Flanagan, and, Helen, that was quite a battle..."

Helen: "She's every bit as physical as I expected, but, here's the thing, I'm as strong and sturdy as any bantam, in the BBU OR the FCBA. I can stand in front of any girl in this division and come out on top!"

Tess: "What's next for you?"

Helen: "More work in the FCBA, I hope. I can compete with anyone here, and I plan to prove it!"
