Blake Lively vs Kate Upton

Before: Upton not accustomed to an opponent looking her square in the eyes, but Lively's every inch as tall as the heavier, more buxom, blond model. Kate sneering derisively when a reporter asks if she's “worried” about Lively. “She's another Theron clone with long legs, blond hair and no tits. Only difference is Theron at least has some talent....for acting. Neither of 'em can fight a lick.”
Reminded Charlize Theron beat her when she faced her in the “Challenge”, Upton bristled and reminded the questioner, “That was then, this is now. You bring that aging actress to the ring and I'll break her inside five rounds.”
Charlize's cellphone apparently out of range, because when the reporter tried to call and relay the model's challenge, it went straight to voice-mail. But Lively was both available and willing to talk.
“Upton's one of the new crop of 'throwbacks'; women built like Monroe, Mansfield, Russell, and that from the fifties. Today, the public wants sleek, slim, slender and 'healthy' looking role models. Upton, Decker, Perry and their ilk are out of step.
“Charlize has been showing me how to deal with their kind and tonight I'm going to shock the world!”
Lively in a Theron-esque green bikini, black trainers and hair in a braid. Upton, wearing in the same soft ivory white, satin-finish bikini top and matching thong bottom with white gloves and shoes she wore to destroy Lively's stablemate, Jeri Ryan in February. Referee for this bout, Jennifer Garner.

During R1: Upton out stalking Lively from the opening bell behind a stout left jab. Upton targeting Blake's body in the early going, looking to wear down the self-described 'fitness freak'. Kate ringing up Blake with the overhand right hand; coming up the middle with the left hook; putting Lively back on her heels. Back to the rope, Lively not so lively; crouching behind her ear-muffing gloves, giving up the body. Kate taking her time, twisting into lefts and rights that put Blake up on her toes with their power. Round ends with Lively penned in her own corner, Upton lashing her up and down both flanks as she takes the round easily by a wide margin.

R2: More of the same. Kate scoring with the right hand in the opening minute, rocking Lively who is forced to clinch. With Blake's arms wrapped around her shoulders, Kate has free reign of Blake's torso; helping herself to abs and a side of ribs; coming up under those cute little puppies to slather a pint of pain on top of those ribs. Blake hanging on gamely to the bell as Upton 'has her way' with the wiry blonde thru two rounds of one-sided action.

R3: Shutout Upton! Kate on a roll; not giving Lively an inch; bludgeoning Blake back to the ropes, lighting her up like a Christmas Tree. Left to the right side ribs; right to the left side ribs; left-right to the abs doubling Blake forward in pain. Kate leaning her weight on Blake's back, making her struggle to get room...only to be beaten to the punch by Kate who is firing on all cylinders tonight. Blake taking a beating thru three rounds as it's all Kate Upton!

R4: Blake responds with a shutout of her own! Seemingly out of nowhere, Blake comes rampaging back. Catching Kate with a left hook early, Blake attacks Upton's mid-section with a withering barrage of blows. Upton having trouble getting her wind, forced to clinch; wrapping Blake up around the head and shoulders. Lively piston-punching Upton's belly; stealing her breath with every power punch. Upton not sending much back by way of answering as Blake breezes bell-to-bell. Looks like Lively's back in the fight.

R5: Blake takes up right where she left off in Rd. 4, going after Upton's soft middle; fists sinking in deep; then coming over the top with the right hand to rock Kate time and again! Upton unable to stem the onslaught; fighting in retreat not her thing! Blake getting on top of Upton and not letting her go. Late in the round, Lively chug-chug-chugging up under Upton's protruding puppies. Upton finishes the round with her butt stuffed in the ropes, arms draped limp over Blake's shoulders as Lively continues her assault on 'Festung Upton' as Blake wins her second straight round.

R6: Upton's corner reading her the riot act; Trainer Julie Benz slapping the red-faced blond at one point, then gesturing across the ring toward Lively. What she said not important, it's the way the message was delivered! Kate responds with the same right hand that she used to open the fight and it catches Lively clean just as it did in the first round. From there, it's mostly a matter of cleaning up as Upton turns into a punching machine; driving Blake back into her own corner, Kate sets up in front of her and batters the wiry blonde's body with both fists. Lively answering sporadically, unable to get into a rhythm as Upton simply overpowers her for most of the final two minutes. Big round for Upton turns the tide back in her favor as she moves out to a 4-2 lead.

R7: Upton still trying to catch her breath when the bell rings and Lively – looking fresh and determined – comes out hoping to re-establish herself. Early exchange goes Blake's way as Upton misses over the top, leaving her chin exposed. Lively doesn't miss and Kate swoons into a clinch. Blake battering Kate's body with both hands as Upton hangs on doggedly; mouth-breathing with her head on Blake's shoulder as Lively lavishes unwanted attention on Kate's suspect middle. Big blonde swimsuit model hammered back to the ropes doubled over, butt stuffed in the ropes. Blake brings both fists up to pancake puppy for the final thirty seconds. Fans ringside standing to cheer the sight of Upton's “hooters” nearly spilling out of their protective holsters at the bell. Kate, wandering in a daze toward her corner, is met by Benz who grabs her and almost throws her onto her stool for a 'stern talking to' as Blake pockets the points by a wide margin to inch back into contention.

R8: Lively's superior fitness starting to pay dividends in the late rounds as she again up-tempos on Upton who is desperately trying to slow things down. Lively dancing around Kate, whiplashing the model with the left; dropping the right over her shoulder to put a shimmy in Upton's fleshy thighs! It's all Lively in the eighth as she dominates the blond model from bell-to-bell, winning the round by a wide margin. At the bell, Upton looks lost; appearing ready to go as Lively draws even on the scorecards with two rounds remaining.

R9: Bell and Ryan in Lively's corner each yelling in an ear. Blake finally covers her ears with her gloves and tells them both, “Shut up; lemme think!” Then she stands and walks calmly out to confront Upton who gets a push from Benz to help her off her stool. Upton throwing bombs but Lively easily slips them and counters with stiff shots that rock Upton's head on her shoulders. Upton the aggressor the opening minute and a half, but Lively the one scoring the points with her pin-point counters. Late in the second minute, Upton's disjointed and uncoordinated attack misfires badly and Blake Lively steps in to land a crushing straight right hand flush on the jaw. Upton dropped on her derriere, sits up blinking, then rolls over on all fours and slowly gets to her feet at “EIGHT”. Blake surges forward to finish and after she lands three, then two more uncontested punches, the referee jumps in, gathers Kate Upton in his arms and drags her away (getting a couple of handfuls of her goodies in the process.) Blake Lively the winner by a TKO9!

After: This has to be a bit of an upset - but on a positive note, potentially it could signal the start of a new blonde-on-blonde rivalry! It's hard to imagine Upton (and Lookout! Boxing) sitting idly by while Blake Lively (and Ginny's Academy) boast about their new blonde “breast beater.” Of course Bell and Theron both take the opportunity in the days following to trumpet their own contributions - Theron's advice and training tips; Bell's sparring providing the 'puppies' Blake learned to bash. Lively's victory, and the resultant posing and preening by her Academy stablemates, isn't likely to sit well with Lookout! Boxing - or Upton, for that matter!

Blake enjoying a bit of 'revenge' (pay-back) - repaying Upton's blithe dismissal of her “assets” in prefight comments while laying the groundwork for potentially more 'high profile' fights as she tries to re-assert herself in the lightweight and welter contender ranks.
