BEFORE: The popular rumour around North London is that Dorota Rabczewska will be announced as a member of the Lioness Club as soon as she dispatches former divisional champion Una Healy tonight and many people in the audience simply cannot wait to see the local bantamweight camp being boosted with such a promising fighter! The Polish singer has incurred immediate wrath from the redhead Irish girl and their bitter feud has boiled over to the point it MUST be settled in the ring one way or another. Somewhere along the lines hopes of a long-term rivalry are predicted as well to follow on Lioness Club's involvement in the biggest duell of the whole BBU between Jessica Schwarz and Alesha Dixon.
Rabczewska, or Doda as she's known among Polish and English fans, took the UK fighting scene by the horns sweeping all her four bouts thus far however she can't buy Una's experience and Denise van Outen predicts a grudge bout that will go down to the wire. The Lioness contracts awaits as if Doda needed any more encouragement before the first career-defining test of her BBU tenure!
Una Healy wears a yellow bikini top, brown knickers and red gloves. Dark red hair tied in a custom ponytail. Doda wears a white basque top, black knickers and black gloves. Long blonde hair tied in a sleek ponytail. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the bantamweight division.
Round 1:
Doda's well aware of a great chance opening for her tonight and she leaps into the redhead's path immediately after the bell with fearless jabbing only to meet an equally stubborn defence and lose her plot down the stretch. Una prefers to hang tough on the back foot and she makes the blonde angry in her charge however that affects the precision and enables the Irish singer to settle into counterpunching galore and pick Rabczewska off with looping overhands instead. Doda fails to bother her in the final minute as well despite plenty of effort and a big hooking spike on the temple reminds everyone just who's the former divisional champ here as Una rocks her foe inside the final seconds with a really big punch!
Round 2:
The blonde keeps charging and looks to smack Una's head around however the redhead matches her speed across the canvas and works the counterpunching efforts again; she throws twice as less shots as the Polish singer but dominates the precision rate and whips the blonde locks around with a heavy one-two combo on the mouth on the minute mark. Doda has to yield some real estate but gets punished on the body as Healy moves into close range assault and drills her red gloves into the ribcage making the blonde squeal a bit in the proccess. Doda fails to escape the heat and is wrestled back to the ropes as Una runs away with the action thanks to more accurate piercing that blocks the blonde off and gives her more pain in the midriff area. You can the Polish girl begins to lose her temper already but she just can't brawl herself out of trouble and has to accept Healy's tactics for the moment.
Round 3:
Dorota riffles a big hook on the nose and beats the Irish girl for a classic overhand before driving one in on the mouth in a quick follow up; Una wobbles back and has to cover up but she doesn't use the feet so effectively now and allows the blonde to wade in with more punches and steer her back to the ropes. Another close range tangle ensues where Rabczewska tries to shatter the high guard and doesn't pursue the body attack enabling Healy to clinch her for survival after a while. Still, Doda shoves her off and keeps trapped along the ropes; she works the single hand assault and lands more shots on the face but fails to escape a late response as Una pounds her around the elbows and wobbles forward into another stalemate in the dying seconds of the round.
Round 4:
Una swings high on the temples but misses her approach and allows Rabczewska to stuck some leather into her chest instead; the Polish singer finally decides to punish the body and clips the redhead into a trembling stance when she powers through on the rack and makes Una yelp in pain. A quick hook on the temple spins the Irish singer to the side and results in a furious jabbing assault from Dorota who sticks her punches on the breadbasket and reels Healy onto the ropes again. She switches up high thereafter and snaps Una's head back to enforce a dropping guard and slams a left/right combo on the mouth to burst the lips into visible swelling. Una gasps for air and scowls in discomfort but fails to shrug the blonde off this time and has to accept getting her midsection punished for remainder of the round as Doda leans on her and lets it rip much to the crowd's delight!
Round 5:
Una's a bit sluggish to start the fifth and the poor showing in the previous round seems to have cost her the harrassing demeanour as she allows Doda to send more punches on the body and clip the rack in forceful fashion. Both girls settle into a clinch after a while but Rabczewska realizes she needs to keep the pressure up against the former champion and reverts into headhunting her, scoring well on the cheeks to snap the head back repeatedly as the round progresses. Una moans out her struggles but still drives a nasty hook into the liver area to stop the rout and as the blonde stops briefly to adjust her stance, she riffles a straight jab on the jaw to spin Doda on her heels and follow up with a desperate lunge that clobbers the younger singer's nose as well and dumps her backing into the ropes just before the bell. That was a lucky escape for Healy but she will take it and even bumps Doda off as both girls stare at each other with zero sympathy.
Round 6:
Rabczewska's much quicker on her feet now but gets countered over the top as Healy catches a second breath and jumps into a jabbing frenzy to turn the tables on the blonde who slowly but surely looked very comfortable on the cards. A furious exchange in the middle of the ring gives Una more bloody lips but more importantly she withstands the head snapping galore and wrenches the blonde on the ear to dump her into earmuff cover and run away with the second minute pounding away in former champion's fashion. She whips the Polish girl to the side and dismantles her guard with heavy slugging; drops low for the rack assault too and has Rabczewska moaning badly come the two minute mark. The Irish heat is on and Una finds the big uppercut on the jaw to back her foe against the turnbuckle before slamming more shots on the rack and just sink the blonde on jelly knees for the first time tonight! The Barnet crowd becomes really worried as Doda struggles to fight back and has to cover up in the dying seconds as the redhead harpoons her around the elbows instead and claims a landslide scoring in this round!
Round 7:
It's Doda's turn to look very sluggish and here's where experience counts the most as Una jumps at her with a jabbing frenzy and lands the all important first punch straight on the liver to render the blonde stranded in the middle of the ring. A riffling left hook catches her on the ear moments later and drops the guard for good as Healy clobbers the open face and spins some blonde hair around her opponent's neck. Doda gasps for air but as she takes a deep breath she gets nailed on the solar plexus and cries out her departure in a woefully long shriek... BLONDE GIRL GOES DOWN ON HER KNEES... and that was as accurate as you like from Una who shakes her glove in delight and struts back to her corner without any delays... Doda sits down on her heels and stares at the smiling redhead but has trouble to regain her breath back and it's only the slow count that saves her from disaster... she gets up at eight but looks shaken up and vulnerable at the very least as Una charges at her and smacks with a vicious combo on the nose before she can raise her arms again... A sudden flurry of punches slams the blonde's pretty face into a bruising dismay and Doda more or less simply wobbles back onto the ropes where Una flicks a low series and punishes the liver area again to take full command of the bout and just add to Rabczewska's painful screams... HERE COMES THE HEAVY IRISH DRILL... Una's in red mist mode now trying her best to chop the blonde in half and Doda sails off into a sobbing struggle with her eyes closed as Healy looks to pierce her liver and keeps clubbing the area to leave the Polish girl begging her to stop... AND THE REF CHARGES IN... he hauls the Irish singer off her prey as Dorota simply collapses to her knees again moments later and hugs her aching midsection battling back the tears... Huge TKO7 Una Healy!!!
AFTER: That was a classic come-from-behind stoppage for the redhead who looked in real trouble at half-distance but clawed herself back into the fight and found the blonde's weak spot after all. She still looks tired and used up as Rabczewska gave her some heavy pounding tonight but at the end of the day she had the experience that mattered and was able to hang on just long enough to execute the comeback and silence the KO Club who were supposed to see a new Lioness fighter claiming one of the biggest scalps the bantamweight division has on offer!
However all is not lost for Dorota who is lifted off her knees and while still looking very sore and admittedly downbeat mentally after her maiden BBU loss, she is in fact given the official Lioness Club contract by the stable's press office guru Kate Garraway. Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton confirm the signing as representatives of the fighters' branch and suddenly a big smile appears on the blonde's face despite the fact the first thing she does as a lioness is a trip to the medical center to determine whether Una didn't fracture some of her ribs in the proccess!
Kate Garraway speaks during the post-fight break: "Doda has the heart of a lioness and that's what matters the most. She gave Una a real fight and was unfortunate to lose it. But when she gains more experience she will become a thorn in Una's side as well as many, many other girls! It's just a matter of time! We simply couldn't let any other stable sign her before us! (...) Yes, that's probably bad news for Pilar Rubio who might not make it past this summer here in Barnet! But she's only got herself to blame she prefers to hang around with Sergio Ramos rather than work her butt off in the gym!"
