BEFORE: Alaina Huffman derailed Helena Mattsson's title fight hopes back in December and has vaulted to the big picture herself where her reward is a clash against another member of the Lookout! Atlantic Boxing, the VERY highly touted Douzten Kroes. The Dutch lingerie model entered the title picture the official way, blasting the doors off Sayuki Matsumoto in a BBU sanctioned eliminator and just like fellow catwalk speciallist Karolina Kurkova, there is serious talk about her travelling over to America for some USD paycheck boosting her income!
It seems like all the recent crossover efforts down at flyweight and bantamweight have spurred the elite lightweights to seek their future in SSB as well and the way Miranda Kerr announced herself on the US market indicates that even the most popular division still offers some space for the newcomers. Both Kurkova and Kroes believe they're as good as the Australian model and the Cannes audience fully realizes this might be the last chance to witness them on this side of the pond for quite a while. That's of course unless Kroes wins the title tonight and will have to make a mandatory defence before the BBU executives' patience runs out!
Doutzen Kroes wears a pink bikini with black trim and white gloves. Alaina Huffman wears a black basque top with a red maple leaf carved above the left hip, white knickers and red gloves. The fight is scheduled for ten rounds in the lightweight division.
Round 1:
Huffman's displayed a lot of punching skills in her career thus far - including an epic performance against Helena Mattsson - but she gets blizted from the on set by the Dutch model who simply rips into the blonde clearly trying to set the tone early. Huffman slips by for some ribcage response but gets whacked over the top as Kroes works furiously from both sides and smashes the cheeks into a head snapping menace; has Huffman on the run quickly before thumping her with a wild cross on the nose... Alaina hits the ropes and bounces into a clubbing hook on the mouth followed by an equally vicious half-uppercut on the jaw... AND DOWN SHE GOES!!! Huffman finds the boards inside the opening minute which even silences Malika Menard up in the audience! Alain's shocked over the instant ragdoll experience but shoots back up at four, very quick to indicate there's no harm done but almost too quick as Kroes mauls her along the ropes thereafter and rips into her chest sinking the Canadian challenger with every punch landed... Alaina begins to cry out here and remains trapped in the corner as Doutzen turns up the heat big time in Cannes to smack the guard wide open and punish the exposed face.... Huffman's head bobs left, right and center and the veteran actress just can't do anything about it and only hopes for the bell to survive a massive onslaught... Kroes seeks the ultimate finish and digs some on the chest to increase the moaning volume but runs out of time to punch Alaina all the way back to Ontario and already makes some obscene gestures towards Menard in the stands... what a start from the Dutch goddess that was!
Round 2:
Some people are still picking up their jaws from the floor as Doutzen shocked everyone with that bulldozing display and it only gets worse for Huffman early in the second as she eats a series of overhand jabs and can't match the sheer intensity and strenght behind these shots. She doesn't have the legs in her to avoid the close range tussle and endures a wild head snapping misery that reels her onto the ropes and rocking on her feet in miserable fashion just after the minute mark. Kroes headhunts her to dissect the guard again and digs extra leather on the sweating face that already begins to tell that Huffman's under extreme pressure as she nurses a couple of shiners under the left eye and a big pink patch on the other cheek. She tries to brawl herself out of the corner but only finds a solitary punch on the lips that makes no change to the running of this bout and Doutzen triggers that welter presence and resumes the head snapping that has Alaina shaking all over, shrieking in utmost struggle and just getting beat up in the corner! Kroes lowers the Canadian's guard to the point she can riffle single hands on the eyes without any resistance and sinks the actress on jelly knees come the final minute again before driving up the alley and rocking the boobs as well. Huffman somehow avoids another knockdown but sways badly on her feet after the bell and hugs an aching rack as she never experienced such a powerful series on the chest and looks in all sorts of bother with Dotzen glancing over the arena and nodding to herself full of confidence and Dutch pride!
Round 3:
Alaina looks like running on borrowed time already and she barely avoids getting whacked by the model's opening hook but as she leans over to the left, Kroes riffles another hook over the top and bounces off her nose to wobble the older blonde forward straight into a heavy uppercut that lifts Huffman off the ground AND SENDS HER CRASHING DOWN IN A HEAP moments later. The Canadian's face down at the model's feet and Kroes says to the ref she can do this ALL night long... and she's probably right... Nonetherless Alaina makes a brave effort to resume the action and rises up at eight with her face all busted up now only short of a blood spilling out... Ref realizes we might be heading into a massive KO finish and gives the actress a warning, one more knockdown and he'll stop it... Alaina nods back at him but has her eyes glued on the Dutch rival and one has to wonder if she actually heard his words... Doutzen doesn't mind that and leaps off the ropes WWE-style to resume the Huffman trouncing and beats the slow moving actress for a hooking series that tears the skin on the older blonde's left cheek and wobbles her into another uppercut on the jaw... and one frickin' more as Huffman cries out extremely loud AND JUST COLLAPSES ON HER BACKSIDE before bending her head against the canvas... Ref is bemused as Douzten urges the fallen blonde to get up and shoves her back to the neutral corner... "You're nuts! Want to kill this woman or what?". Kroes shakes her head and yells out: "What's up, ref? Never seen ME in action before?"
There's a delay in proceedings as the ref tries to explain the Dutch model she shouldn't act like she's in Felony Fights Vol. 7 but the crowd becomes annoyed over the strict handling of an otherwise ruthless boxing match... ref finally gives up his rights and turns back to see a completely shattered Canadian who's slumped face down spread eagle on the canvas and in no shape to continue here tonight... Your KO3 winner in beatdown of the year candidate fashion and the NEW BBU lightweight champion... Doutzen Kroes!!!
AFTER: That was one of the most convincing performances of the last couple of years which makes Miranda Kerr's title reign look awkward! Shades of an equally epic beatdown of Manuela Arcuri from Kroes which also suggests how good Sayuki Matsumoto actually was lasting almost eight rounds against this Dutch vixen! Some experts said she's the European version of Kate Upton and well, if Kroes is indeed destined to make the American foray soon, she couldn't have advertised herself any better tonight! This renders Helena Mattsson as a mere LAB sidekick and well, pretty much silences whatever doubts Karolina Kurkova and Malika Menard had over the Dutch model's stock.
A quick glance in the stands confirms the former Miss France is already leaving her seat looking like she just drank a bucket of onion juice and as for the Czech model, well, she defeated Doutzen once before but that was then and this is now. One has to wonder what's the real gap between these two now and Denise van Outen believes the Czech girl is no longer ahead on percking order. Because Alaina Huffman is one of the best lightweights around and you don't hand her the worst defeat of her career without being exceptionally good in the proccess. Too good for some? For Kurkova even? Only time will tell what happens next but the stage is set for a commanding Dutch siege...
Final result: Doutzen Kroes def. Alaina Huffman KO3.
