Michelle Keegan (Beevers Babes) versus Hayden Panettiere (Foxfire Boxing)

Michelle’s recent record suggests that she may be coming to terms with the increased standard of SSB as opposed to BBU opponents, but she’s certainly taking on a major player in Hayden, currently ranked at number 2 flyweight, whilst Michelle is down at number 49.

Hayden is everybody’s favourite to win this bout, having previously knocked Michelle out in 5 rounds, and some say that she’s going to get the job done just as quickly tonight.

Tonight, Michelle is wearing a black bikini, with white gloves and boots, while Hayden is in yellow vest top, hot pants, boots and gloves.

Round 1

Michelle’s a little slow off her stool, and this cannot be good tactics from the Brit, as she takes a brisk combination from the ever agile Hayden, who steps back immediately, swaying clear of Michelle’s lunging counter, before picking the taller girl off with a left hook to the jaw. This is dominant stuff from Hayden, who’s looking so much quicker than Michelle it’s embarrassing, and she’s giving her a boxing lesson in this opening round, darting in and out of range, smacking Michelle’s head to and fro, the Brit frowning, desperate to impress tonight, and she lands a couple of decent shots on Hayden as the clock shows thirty seconds or so to go, the blonde unfazed, and she gives Michelle some shots back, punishing her in a final impressive flurry.

Round 2

Hayden’s taking her time a little more now, which is odd, since she seemed to have Michelle in awful trouble in the opening round, and this slower tempo will suit Michelle, who can now get her breath, and as Hayden starts to move in on her, Michelle’s picking her punches, landing good shots on Hayden now, giving her some solid punches into the American’s midsection, and this is taking the speed out of her work, Hayden having to defend, keeping her guard solid, and now Michelle’s the one looking good, working Hayden backwards and into the ropes, giving her a neat pair of hooks, Hayden trying to clinch, but she takes another couple of good hits to her ribs and the round closes with Michelle in control, Hayden wincing.

Round 3

After some explosive hitting from Hayden in the opening few seconds, Michelle responds with a solid jab or two from beyond Hayden’s reach, and this is good, tight stuff from both girls, each knowing that the other can punch, and now Hayden’s mixing it up, getting in close to work on Michelle’s body, the Brit staying mobile, though, and she’s trying to box from the outside, worked Hayden back again, snaps her head back with a crunching left cross, and now Michelle hurts Hayden with a right hook - Hayden comes inside, throws a left to Michelle’s belly, but the blonde eats another right hook, and she goes down! The fans are shocked to see Hayden on the canvas, albeit, getting to her feet at 6, and the former champion’s looking shaky now with Michelle probing and looking for another big punch.

Round 4

There’s no doubt about it - Michelle’s going for the win, and she’s giving Hayden a real hard time now, switching her tactics again, realizing she can’t take the smaller girl out with one shot, so she’s battering her at close quarters, thudding those punches into Hayden’s body, and she’s bullying her onto the ropes, Hayden crouching, and now Michelle’s snapping her head upwards with a series of short uppercuts, and poor Hayden’s beginning to look miserable, a thin dribble of blood coming from her right nostril now, Michelle spattering her with a left hook, with Hayden doing what she does better than most girls in the division, darting inside Michelle’s guard and landing, but she’s definitely slowed down, Michelle again landing to her face with a couple of jabs and a sweet cross to take another round off the higher ranked fighter.

Round 5

It’s no surprise that a rampant Michelle’s getting after Hayden again in the early seconds, but Hayden defends well, keeps her guard in nice and tight, Michelle becoming frustrated as she finds her best work being blocked, and she throws and misses with a crude attempt to land a right uppercut, and now gets punished with a pair of good body shots from Hayden, who seems to have hurt the Brit with a hook up and under her right armpit, the American getting her confidence back, and she lands a great left and right to Michelle’s jaw, gets herself clear, and now she lands again to a red faced Michelle, starting to find the taller girl’s face more easily than at any time since the opening round,but still Michelle comes back, popping Hayden backwards in a final attack in the closing seconds, but it’s not enough to win the round, and the Brit may have missed her chance of causing an upset that looked likely a few minutes ago.

Round 6

With the points in this fight still in Michelle’s favour, Hayden realizes she has work to do, and she’s swiftly into action here, giving Michelle a neat jab and cross to the face, but she gets caught with Michelle’s right hook, the taller girl doing everything she can to get back on top, but she’s missed the target with an attempted left hook, and Hayden gets home with a good left hook of her own, sending the brunette backwards and unsteady, and now Hayden lands a chopping right hand punch to Michelle’s cheek, and she unloads a left and a right to the bigger girl’s midriff – Hayden’s hurting Michelle with those punches, but the feisty Brit fights her way off the ropes, swinging a looping right at Hayden’s face, but Michelle takes two, three shots in quick succession, and a fourth - Keegan goes down in a heap! Michelle’s in trouble, up and apparently ready at 8, but she doesn’t look too steady, and Hayden’s trying to finish her off, lands another couple of chopping punches on a crouching Michelle, and that’s opened up a cut in her left eyebrow - Michelle survives the round, but Hayden’s looking back on track for a win inside the distance.

Round 7

Michelle has little alternative but to adopt a defensive pose, with Hayden giving her some heavy work to her body, Michelle clumsily trying to retaliate, but Hayden’s got her right cross working, and Michelle’s cut left eye is not looking good, blood running down her face, but she keeps her guard up high, although that helps a mobile Hayden give her plenty of punishment inside to the body, Michelle clinching and holding where she can, but after each break, Hayden switches and slams some smart punches into her face, Michelle hurt again, her knees starting to buckle, and she holds once more, Hayden still working on her inside, Finally, Michelle manages to get some self respect back as she fights back in the closing seconds of a painful round, leaving the American on the ropes after landing a solid jab, hook, cross combination to her jaws.

Round 8

This is courageous stuff from Michelle, because she’s taking punishment again, Hayden reopening that damaged left eye with a cruel right hook, but she defends herself better again, Hayden becomes a little ragged as she tries too hard fo the knockout, and Michelle roars back, and she’s hurt Hayden with a thumping right hook, sending the blonde swiftly back to a neutral corner there, and she’s dominating Hayden as the round begins to come to a conclusion, the American’s cheeks both bruising up, and that right hook has her in trouble again, Hayden clinching as Michelle gets too close – she very nearly dropped Hayden again with that punch, and both girls are looking exhausted as Michelle pulls that big round out of the fire.

Round 9

Michelle isn’t looking at all good now, and maybe that late flourish in the eighth was all she has left, because, Hayden hurts Michelle early in this ninth round with swift one-two, the Brit visibly wilting, her eye streaming blood down her cheek, and now Hayden works on her body, Michelle almost static at the midpoint of the round, gasping and grunting as the little blonde prods her backwards – and this is Hayden showing her class as she gives Michelle a beating, pretty much finishing her left eye off there with three right hooks arrowing in on it, Michelle struggling to stay on her feet as she eats more leather, left and right, but she covers, really feels the pain of a left hook to her liver, as Hayden tries to get this job done - but she just can’t finish Michelle off, and now she looks dead on her feet as well as both girls return to their corners.

Round 10

The girls touch gloves in respect - this fight is Hayden’s to lose now, and Michelle summons up everything to give her a pasting in the very first few seconds, left, right and another left being thrown by the brunette, and landing, Michelle again getting home with a her right hook, Hayden getting snapped backwards, and that punch has cut her cheek, Hayden a girl not prone to taking punishment at this stage of a fight, and Michelle might still pull off that upset, landing to a damaged Hayden, hitting her in the midriff – but Hayden lands a left hook of her own, and she’s come back yet again from a hard knockback, and she’s turned Michelle, has the Brit up against the ropes, Hayden dragging on her stamina in the final minute of this fight, and she’s jerked Michelle’s head backwards with a great uppercut, the Brit struggling to stay with this, out on her feet, but she’s proved her worth in this fight, and at the bell Hayden has just about won the closing round, and it goes to the judges.

Result: Hayden Panettiere beat Michelle Keegan on points.

It was close, but Hayden got the verdict on all three judges cards, and she looks relieved as she hugs a very gallant opponent, both girls walking arm in arm around the ring in very sporting style as they milk the ovation from fight fans.

Hayden’s next fight may be for the title – but Michelle? Well, Allison Scagliotti’s said to be interested.
