Before: “I was a little surprised she was willing to fight me,” Troian Bellisario says sounding genuinely awed, “I mean I have 5 inches on her—well, in height away. I will admit she’s got me beat when it comes to bust size. Of course, I realize she’s had over 100 fights and this will be my 25th. So I think she’s way ahead of me in experience and don’t think I didn’t notice her beating Kate Beckinsale to a TKO back in March, Love. I know I’ll be in for one of the toughest fights of my career, but I welcome it. I want to prove I can fight—and beat—even a ‘Living Legend’ like Love Hewitt.”

As usual, the veteran Love Hewitt takes this all with a smile and a nod, but she is serious when she takes her turn at the podium: “I’ve been fighting taller opponents all my career. Sometimes I won, sometimes I lost, but none of them intimidated me and I’m not intimidated now. I have new management in Mirage Boxing and I want to show them they hired the right veteran when they signed me. Troian is good, but she’s not a ‘Love Hewitt Class-Fighter.”

Troian frowning at this last remark, but only shakes her head. Love gives her a chilly smile as if to say “You’ll find out, kid, you’ll find out.”

In the ring on fight night, Troian has selected a black trimmed in white chemise top that goes down to about midthigh with black tap pants trimmed in white underneath. Black boots and gloves, white lacings. Hair pulled back in French braid. Love in well-built red satin bra that keeps her impressive rack comfortably supported and then black satin panties with red JLH monogram across the front in elegant stitchery. Red gloves and boots, with black laces. Hair loose hanging just above the shoulders. Love smiling and charming to her many fans who cheer her lustily. Troian looking tense as though suspecting all those Hewitt fans won’t be cheering anything she does, but makes sure to get close and emphasize the height difference. Love just looking up with a confident smile.

R1: Love moving a lot quicker than Troian had expected and is on the Foxfire brunette with solid shots to the body. Love circling, constantly licking her leather into Troi’s ribs and then back to belly meat. Troian bobbing, trying to counter, but Hewitt’s got those veteran moves and Troi just not landing much. Hewitt very focused and really working the taller fighter’s body. Troian trying to jab but again she’s not landing as she should. Steady action that whole round, but Jennifer Love Hewitt clearly getting the better of it and Troian Bellisario has to see the round go into the smaller fighter’s column.

R2: Jennifer looking to get more leather on Troian’s lanky frame again this round and she starts out with a fresh drive in close. However, Troian’s got some footwork, too and does a neat sidestep and blasts Love a ringing right to the side of the head. Love didn’t see that one coming and reels away. Troian eagerly tries to pursue, but Love proves evasive and Troi takes well over a minute to finally cut her off. Troian then uses her reach advantage to try to get at Love’s face and head under or over Hewitt’s protective gloves. A good many of these punches get blocked or end up smashing into Jennifer’s rack. Troian can hear the grunts as Love’s melons come under attack and she keeps it up until Love finally has to lower her guard enough for Troi to underhand a shot or two to light up Jennifer’s face. Love banging jack with her own jab, but it’s not enough to keep Troian Bellisario for bagging her first round of the night.

R3: Love not looking pleased as attendants ice her aching rack. She is giving Troian dirty looks across the ring. Troi preferring to ignore these. Once bell rings, Love shows even more speed this round in getting across ring to clip Troian on the jaw before she’s cleared her own corner. Troi falls back against the turnbuckle and slides partially down on wobbly knees. Love just pounding away at Troi’s wide open body as the PLP fighter’s arms are grasping the ropes to hold herself up. Troi getting her whole toros clouted and then has her face busted up by the romping Love Hewitt. Desperate Troi throws her arms around the Hewitt in a sort of bear hug and then they stumble out to midring where the referee pries them apart. Troian looking woozy, but has her dukes up as an aroused Love Hewitt comes back at her. Troian using her jab to slow down the charge and finally Love falls back, blood dripping down her chin from a split lower lip, but Troian too shellshocked to pursue. Love keeps coming back, but Troi holding her off to the bell. Still, Love has this round to her credit.

R4: Jennifer still all fired up and on the attack early. Troian too quick to get trapped in her own corner this time, but she is still fighting hard to keep Love back. Love frustrated at getting at Troian’s head, goes back to her attack on the PLP brunette’s willowy body, especially scorching Troian’s sides to make her ribs burn with fire. Troian trying to maneuver her way away from the Mirage fighter, but Love cutting her off repeatedly. All Troian can do keep from getting trapped on the ropes, but she looks very stiff and sore moving back to her stool at the end of another winning Love Hewitt round.

R5: Troian fighting back harder this round as Love continues to attacks. Love getting her forehead knocked back by Bellisario jab and her breasts continue to get more than their share of Troi’s defensive jabbing. Love trying to circle again to find openings, but she’s not quite as quick as she was earlier and Troian slowly beginning to out-maneuver the veteran. As Love finds the ring cut off, she is now under counterattack from the taller brunette and being forced to step back. Love shows good defense, but Troi getting her punches through more and more to the face. Love’s features starting to lump up from the impacts, but she fights on grimly with her jab and Troian getting enough shots to those sore ribs to make her cautious as the time ticks by. However the round goes to Troian.

R6: Jennifer Love Hewitt on the attack and so is Troian Bellisario. They both charge off their stool at the bell and meet in a hard-hitting clash at mid ring. Action goes to the smaller Love as she backs Troian up with stomach shots that double the PLP brunette up and then uppercuts into Troi’s chin. Troi still has that longer reach and lobs in a right catches Love between the eyes and then follows with a sweeping left to the nose. Love lurching off to one side, blood leaking from one nostril, but when Troi follows, the veteran spins around and clouts Troi in the nose, drawing blood as well! Troi and Love pause for a moment to absorb the blows, but then they go right back at each other. Back and forth action at its best for a solid minute with mostly bodies getting the impacts, but then Troian catches Love in the mouth with a quick jab over the gloves. Love stunned and bleeding anew from the mouth, gets driven back to the ropes. Troian closes in, but Love steps aside and clips Troi on the side of the head. Troi falls into the ropes, but pushes off. Love slow to follow-up gets a hook to the belly when she does move in. Troi again able to back her up, but Love still on her feet at the bell. Goes down Troian Bellisario-close.

R7: Jennifer getting a lot of attention during the break and she is slow off her stool at the starting bell. Troian advancing cautiously and there is a tentative exchange before Troi decides to put on some more pressure. Troi advances with a steady series of punches of Love’s body and she see that Hewitt’s reactions are sluggish. Now Troi bangs uppercuts trying to break through Love’s gloves to her chin. Finally gets one in and Love stiffens as her head jerks back. Troian then unloads a crushing right/left combo to Love’s jaws and Love stumbles back. Troian leaps forward with straight rights and lefts to the face. AND JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT IS DOWN. Jennifer just crashes onto her back, arms and legs starfished out from her body, mighty chest heaving, and eyelashes fluttering. Troian in neutral corner watches as referee starts to count. Jen able to roll to her side, but that’s the best she can do, as referee reaches “…TEN!” Jennifer rolls on her back again, arms outflung as Troian Bellisario is the KO7 winner!

After: “She’s one tough small bantam,” an admiring Troian Bellsario tells the press later. “She rocked me more than once, but I managed to take it and come back. I think she might have been losing energy late, but I can’t tell you how relieved I was to see her go down. It was a great fight for me, one I am not going to forget!”

Jennifer Love Hewitt waits until the next day to comment and she says regretfully: “I was beating her at times. I know I was, but I just couldn’t break her body down fast enough. She wore me down and got the KO, but I was not running out of gas. It was hard fight, so of course I was tired, so was Troian, but my body didn’t fail me. I’m ready for my next fight—soon.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt may deny she’s lost endurance, but time does catch up to any athlete and she can expect observers to be watching her future fights closely for more signs of this. As for Troian Bellisario, she can savor the victory over a hard-fighting veteran of the celebrity boxing ring, it was a well-earned win, but there are always new challenges to come. Observers and fans will be waiting to see how she deals with them.
